why did you join?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 2:48 pm

I was looking at screenshots for FO3 and then saw the forums link in the sidebar of Beth's page. Joined up and never looked back.
Neither did I. I would have looked back, but there were so many delicious Fishy Sticks to eat ahead. And then I got lost and now I can't find my way back.

Help.

What's whith all of the people that don't look back? You need to look back! It's a trap designed to svck you in, get your posts and your soul (If Rohugh is any indication).

To be serious though, I joined for Fallout 3. Not to ask any specific question or to chat with people, but just because I liked the game (And liked Oblivion before it) and felt like seeing what the community was like. My first year was mostly spent on the Fallout 3 and DLC GD boards. Then, a few years ago, I found CD. Never went back to any specific board after that, stayed here.

I like to think that I'm at least somewhat recognized as a regular, even if I don't post all that often.

To ask a question about FO:NV I believe, or something along those lines, but I've stayed on the forums for TES and RPing.

Not that often? You joined after me and still have more posts than I do, how's that for not posting often. :ermm:

I like to think of it as not spamming the boards with nonsense. if I posted everything that came into my head whenever I read a thread, I'd either be a patriarch by now, or banned.

Something about Morrowind Daedric armor or a puzzle box, I can't remember it was ages ago.

I couldn't find the puzzle box. Guilty as charged.

By less than a month. I don't really think that there's much of a post gap there.

Noobius Maximo, on the other hand. Joins after me; archpatriarch.

Yup, the damned thing was right in front of my eyes and I must've walked past it 50 times before I resorted to the forums. I still remember the color of the forums back then, they were green.

I think I was in Morrowind General a lot when I first started and then somehow ventured into the CD. I went away for a bit (had I stayed up late on the forums more I would've stayed out of trouble :P). I came back about a 2 years ago and started frequenting more often.

Had a rare glitch with FO3 and joined to use the search. Still haven't managed to find my way back out of the site. My back button seems to be broken.

Because I lost the account that came here to find the puzzle box.

Actually not really. I did join because I lost my first account, but that account probably joined because back then you could talk politics in CD, and there were a lot of rowdy trolls, and I wanted to join the fun.

And thus is the story of the CD regular.

Just replace "Skyrim" with whatever game was relevant at the time of your joining.

I was having issues installing mods for Morrowind. God I was so clueless at the time, spent a lot of time in Morrowind section, Oblivion came out and I spent a lot of time there(mostly reporting threads..... anyone). I found CD and haven't really left, then again haven't posted much either.

For the greatest gaming series ever. The Elder Scrolls. Thank you Beth.
Every time I see you make a post like this, I think of some devout Cthulhu follower. :P

I joined for New Vegas speculation.

Whenever I saw my brother talking in forums, it made me want to talk in forums as well for the first time. One thing I wanted to talk about was Morrowind which was newly out and so it was a very exciting idea for me. I had fun and plus you get to get up in ranks. I talked about Morrowind a lot before joining the forums and I had a blast. So here I am talking in multiple forums.
