why did you join?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 12:30 pm

I lurked around the forums for a few days after I found it, pretty much thought 'what the hell, I'll join up and ask a few questions about MW', did that ( not for the puzzle box), started helping people in the cheats/hints/spoilers forum, and have been here off and on since then. :P
I sometimes think of this as my 'home away from reality', except when I get.... loopy. :hehe:

I joined in 2004 when Morrowind was released because I wanted to troll users and tell them how I found a new artifact that was unattainable. Little did I know about the PC version so the joke was on me.

Despite my trolling ways, online communities are not really my thing so this has been the only one ive stuck with (on and off) .

Yes, but isn't that why you join everything?

I joined to talk about Rage. I actually never posted much in that section of the forum, but when my brother got Skyrim for Christmas, I got hooked on it (and TES in general) and started posting in its forum instead... so here I am. :-)

By less than a month. I don't really think that there's much of a post gap there.

Noobius Maximo, on the other hand. Joins after me; archpatriarch.

You joined 3 years after me and only have 400 posts less so I would say you post plenty. :P

On the bright side of all of this is that I now have the seniority to call the people who joined for New Vegas and Skyrim the "New Guys".

Yay! I'm a crotchety old bastard!

This will probably sound like I'm a pretentious dike, but why was the Puzzle box so hard to find for most people? When I got MW last year and did that quest, I found it immediately, though I died a dozen times because I svcked at the combat :P

I joined to suggest what would make OB better with poor grammar and general naivete. Then I found the FF sections, and that's kept me here for the most part.

I lurked for a long time before I made my first account in April of 2006 which was lost the last time the forums were hacked. I joined when one of the running jokes was how bad and inferior the "X Brick" was . I decided to join so I could help XBox players get through some of the glitches and get around things in Morrowind that were problems on the Xbox that mods or console commands fixed on the pc. Times sure have changed. Now there seems to be as many console players on the forums as pc players and at least they look like they try to get along now. Who would have predicted that back then?

I joined for the fine kinship with the other users and have forged bonds of love and respect with many of them. It also revitalized my faith in humanity.

I joined to moan about some hardware problems I was having when running Oblivion. Then I moaned about other stuff. Then I left. Then I realised I had more moaning to do, so I came back.

I joined some time during GameInformer's early coverage of Skyrim, svcked into all the hype like a lot of people. It was the first time i'd ever really followed the build-up to a game closely.

I joined to ask a question about a particular oblivion companion mod. Ruin I think it was. I don't really remember anymore. I kinda stuck around when I saw that CD was hosting werewolf/mafia games. And then I grew to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfYqry_5RzQ.
