Not even made by the same company.

Matters , not if TES online is a huge success I say goodbye to TES series in single player form.

My girlfriend said to me yesterday, she would had spent more time playing Skyrim if there was some social aspect to it, like a MMO.
So this is very good news for many people like her and me, that could imagine spending alot of time with others in The Elder Scrolls world, jippi!

I don't care how it turns out, all MMO role-playing games ultimately svck because they leave absolutely no opportunity to actually role play.

I shudder when I think of the day that we will find ourselves wandering a Tamriel filled with 12-yo morons who call everyone they pass "[censored]" and "noobs." This is NOT what I play the Elder Scrolls series for.

Quoted for truth.

You can't know that something will hold true for an unreleased game because,well.. no one has a damn clue at this point.

You're really in no place to [censored] all over something you know nothing about. Stop whining and wait until some information is released before making a judgement or you'll never be able to make a fair one.

First off. What I posted was a joke. Secondly. I have no interest in a TES MMO. I'm disappointed that they are even going that way. Hopefully it doesn't affect the single player games. Which, by the looks of it it won't; maybe. For the record, I'm not whining regardless of how you perceive my comment.

Secondly, who in the hell are you to tell me I have no ground to form my own opinion of this announcement of TES: O? Oh, because I'm one of many who don't want to see it made and made a comment you don't like it gives you the right to automatically zero in on my comment and tell me to "shut up in a non polite way". I get it. If my opinion doesn't match yours then I'm wrong.

Thirdly, read my sig. I don't care if you don't like what I have to say.

I may also be heading in that direction as well, depends on whether or not if TES: O affects the single player experience.

You had better watch what you say apparently, as your opinion doesn't fit with some other opinions and you'll be called out on it.

Like it or not many people have been asking for a multiplayer Elderscrolls game since Morrowind. Probably earlier. So if there's an obvious market for something it's inevitable that someone will want to take advantage of it. I just feel fortunate that Bethesda themselves aren't wasting valuable time on it. So... we're getting an Elderscrolls MMO and Bethesda's doing Skyrim DLCs and planning proper sequels. It's a win/win situation, really.

Well, considering there is literally nothing to base an opinion on at this point, I'd say it's a blind and ignorant decision to do so. Also, chill, the post isn't even directed toward you specifically - it's just an opinion anyway, right?

Edit: I'm not even bringing any feelings into this - I'm just posting my opinion in response to yours. I'm not sure why you're so angry about it. It's a forum and is meant for discussion.

OK, let's all just take a few steps back and relax a bit. It's getting too personal for comfort. Whether you like this announcement or not, flaming and flamebaiting one another is still not acceptable.

Then don't play The Elder Scrolls Online, and keep playing the regular single player ones instead
People like me play the Elder Scrolls because we're fascinated in the world and the lore, not so we can power level busty elves.

The announcement of this MMO is hugely disappointing to people like me because it's sure to establish pounds of potentially good lore and yet provide little-to-no opportunity to really appreciate it.

I think everyone on either side of the coin should really wait until we know more information before making any assumptions.

It's normal for such announcement to get so much negativity on a forum, sadly. Some people really like to be negative with anything that the masses would love to have. Just look at how much hate World of Warcraft gets and still I enjoy and playing the game with so-so many others and the game has been on for years and years and more years to come. I would like to see this happen to The Elder Scrolls Online.

Because if I would ever pay two subscriptions on the same time, it could only be The Elder Scrolls Online (and World of Warcraft of course).

If they release this MMO the single player element will die. It will be the same thing with Warcraft and WoW.

I don't believe so. If they were being developed by the same studio I might agree, but I don't think this will really affect he single player games very much.

While you're partly true in this, the very fact that this is an MMO lays down some pretty clear implications from the get-go.

It will probably Skyrim online. That's a pretty good assumption since that's where the TES series has been going for the past decade.

So you want them to make 2 single player series at the same time?

Seems redundant.

Yes but none of the is another Warcraft game. They didnt release the MMO and then the original RTS again did they? Warcraft now is only a MMO.
