Why is there a Nazi sign, a swatstika, on the Dragonbone Dag

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:17 am

Then that doesn't count :P
Wait... what was the subject of this topic again? :P

I don't have DG but Swatikas are classical signs that predate national-socialism by THOUSANDS of years. They remain widely used in eastern religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism. The swastika is also a Chinese character representing eternity and Buddhism.

Nazi used rotated swastikas.

Its use is also well documented in greek and roman times mainly as a decorative element or symbol.

This. OP really lacks historical knowledge.

I image whatever the OP is seeing is just part of the knot work pattern or something. I know Bethesda would not do anything like that on purpose. Besides isn't that symbol baned in Germany? Don't they sell this game in Germany?

I would never argue the history or true meaning of the symbol or try to make someone look like an idiot for not knowing it's 'true' meaning. All of that is meaningless to anyone who is offended by the symbol. We have very similar issues here in the Southern US states and confederate symbols. I'm not going to tell someone they shouldn't be offended by a symbol because it 'really' means this or that. That only makes myself look like an idiot or dis-compassionate moron, even if everything I say is fact.

Maybe a tiny bit of similarity, but no way has it got anything to do with Nazi's. I'm half German - It doesn't offend me because in my opinion it is not the Nazi Swastika.

I saw this too and wondered the same thing but it's not truely a swastika. It has slightly curved ends. I noticed it right away on the dragon bone dagger. You get no perks for Trolling (100). Skill up your Alteration OP...

So what if it did? I don't see anything wrong with it. Some people just get on my nerves with the whole "Nazi is evil! Their symbol is in the game! *Hides and hiss*."

I will be honest and non-flaming, but can't you just throw the weapon away if it is such a problem?
