Why were YOU crossing the border

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 11:17 pm

My Khadjiit was crossing the border because every simpleton knows the best skooma is made from the nightshade plants that grows in the shadow of the Skyrim mountains. And not that garbage leaf-skooma.

Caught running an underground courier service exposing the lies told by the Imperial government and promoting seditious anarchic ideas...and hacking DRM.

Nym, a female orc, was found as an infant on blood-soaked battlefield by a Redguard warrior named Xanatos. He figured that he should kill her since she wasn't going to survive anyway. But Nym's smile froze him mid-swing. Xanatos wasn't a stranger to acts of cruelty, he's done stuff like this before, but he was stunned by the effect this child was having on him. Not knowing what to do next, he took her in and raised her as his own. She grew up on the northern coast of Hammerfell learning swordplay and smithing from Xanatos. However, he didn't let her venture far from their cabin claiming that orcs weren't a welcome sight in Hammerfell. One day, while Xanatos was out in town, some mercs came to the cabin looking to settle a score with him, but all they found was Nym. A pile of bodies greeted Xanatos when he returned. Turns out that the leader of these mercs was a member of powerful family who have been hunting Xanatos for some time. He knew it was only a matter of time before they sent more ppl. So, Xanatos told Nym to get as far away from him and Hammerfell as she can...

Cliched, I know, but it was the only thing that came to mind.

Ulric Bale-Eye, the hunter of the dead.
Returning home after 10 years training his mind and body to destroy the practice of necromancy in Skyrim, the foul practice responsible for his brothers death and leaving him half blind.

Got caught up in that little scuffle on the border.

All he saw was Nords getting set upon by Imperial Guard.
He drew steel... 'nuff said.

Not that he has any love for Ulfric and his butchers either... Ulfric should be tried for war crimes, by a Nord tribunal.
It's Nord business, the Empire should stay out of it.

Got arrested for taking revenge on the people who took his eye. It's also why he has an intense hatred for Imperials.

I named my game book "scrolls" and was getting sued by the empire for copyright, so I left Cyrodiil.

I found it rather interesting that I made this post before I knew the game started at Helgen. Not too far from Falkreath, where my char was seized. Of course greater miracles have happened since it's one of the logical locations to cross the border. But anyway :)

Copied from a post I made October the 10th.

The young Khajiit Dar`lendirr grew up in a settlement in the middle of Elsweyr where the forests meet the badlands. In his early years he learned to live with and of the nature by gathering and hunting. Then he suddenly lost many of his relatives in a traumatic fire. The settlement got attacked by unknown bandits. An older relative took care of him and they fled towards Torval in southwest Elsweyr and settled some miles outside the city. The relative became like a new father to him, and was a source of great wisdom. In addition to his Khajiit heritage, he also learned the "imperial" way. He was taught that "to have the best chance of success in life he had to have control of every situation, and take care of every oppurtunity he encountered". Knowledge was the key. He was also taught to not be bitter on the attackers who killed his family, and be respectful and listen to the people he met. He could learn a great deal of information just by listening to someone, and be alert to the surroundings both in the city or in the forest. One day Dar'lendirr was in Torval to trade goods at the market, his new "stepfather" ruthlessly was attacked by two Skooma-addicts looking for gold. Dar`lendirr found him dead lying in his own blood . And despite what he had learned the 19 yr old Khajiit couldn`t bear the sorrow that now engulfed him. After a great deal of effort, he tracked the down the murderers who happened to be Khajiits and before they knew what hit them he slit their throats and killed them.
He was tired of Elsweyr and felt he had only one option. It was nothing left for him here and he wanted to get away. After all his stepfather had told numerous of fantastic stories from other parts of Tamriel and he had read lots of books himself. He buried his stepfather, gathered only a few thing and started to go northwest towards the Valenwood border.
After several weeks and months travelling along the Valenwood border, exhausted, he got attacked by several marauders. Although he reacted swiftly and seemed to get away, they were too many and overpowered him. He came to himself days later, his hands and feet tied up and with a hood over his head. He could feel that he was in a carriage of some kind, and tried to move and gather as much information as he could about the surroundings. Suddenly he felt something heavy hit him. He woke up again and could smell salt and tar and felt the ground was moving up and down. Dar`lendirr realized he was on a boat. Exhausted from lack of water and food he dozed off.
He woke up again and it seemed he had solid ground beneath his feet, well at least beneath the carriage he was in. The young Khajiit tried to smell and listen as to find out where he was. Then he heard several Redguards speaking in their mother tongue, and realized he could be as far as Hammerfell. Suddenly he heard a strange sound and felt paralyzed. The world slipped away again.
Dar`lendirr felt someone drag him by his arm and a moment later he was on the ground wounded by the impact. His hood was removed and the bright light was like a knife in his eyes. After a while he could see that he was standing in somekind of rocky area. He saw several people with pickaxes in their hands and chains on their feet. So it had really come to this, he thought. A fitting end for his wretched life.
Soon, he learned that he was a part of an illegal mining operation outside Elinhir, a city north in Hammerfell close to the Skyrim border. Dar`lendirr couldn`believe he had travelled so far, but it seemed that he was not alone making such a long distance. Actually several of the other slaves was brought here in the same way. He learned that it was actually a Nord who supervised this illegal and profitable operation in Hammerfell.
Weeks later Dar`lendirr decided to escape. A Nord, an Argonian and a Bosmer joined him in the attempt. As planned they managed to escape during night, and all 4 of them decided to make an attempt to cross the Skyrim-border. What they didn`t know at the time was that the Nord supervisor found out of their escape and realized his whole operation could be in jeopardy if the former slaves managed to reach Falkreath and report it. The Nord slave-mine supervisor was in fact the son of a well-known and respected citizen in Falkreath. After many days travelling through the mountains with a minimum of food, they saw Falkreath in the distant. At the same time the criminal Nord and his party had reached them. The Argonian was suddenly shot in the back, and the remaining three ran towards the road to the city. Moments later, the Bosmer fell victim to a fire-spell. Dar`lendirr exhausted by the lack of food and water and the harsh climate, was supported by his fellow escapist the Nord, They were so close to the city that they could hear voices.

Suddenly his fellow comrade falls to the ground like a ragdoll. Dar`lendirr stops, turns around and a giant axe is embedded in the Nord's skull. He then looks up, and he sees the Nord supervisor look at him with a grin and shouts: "Murderer! Why did you kill that Nord?". "Guards!"
Dar`lendirr feels a sharp pain in this head. His vision gets blurred and he falls down to the ground. The last thing he sees before he`s out is the dead eyes of his comrade.

In short, Gwenneth fled from Skyrim after hitting someone on the head, lived in Bruma, then in the wilds near Cheydinhal for years, got her house set on fire by orcs and had a vision of her deceased mother urging her to return to skyrim.

Does a Breton who summons demons and plays with dead bodies really need a reason to hurriedly flee a country in rags?

I'm a loyal citizen of the Empire. Word reached me of the recent troubles in Skyrim and I figured I'd head up there from Cyrodiil and lend a hand. As I was crossing the border, I found myself caught up in the middle of an ambush. Someone clubbed me on the back of the head and then I woke up on a cart headed for Helgen, delivering me to my destiny...

I wasn't, I killed the king after years if being his hand and personal elite Assassin to try and manufacture the peace as an Imperial man in the Sumerset Isles when the Cyrodiil Emperor marched in an took over the throne and sentenced me to death in Skyrim because he wanted me miles always so my bones weren't a disgrace to his land, a few years later most people forgot about me including the Emporer and I escaped the beheading due to the Dragon... Its not lore friendly but this is how I play Skyrim.

My Dunmer, Heymon Hiho, was on his way north to connect with cousins who said they could hook him up with a job. He was not "sneaking in" or out. He was walking in like any free Empire citizen should be able to do. He tends to be a solitary sort, so he was traveling off-highway, and happened upon the raid. He got tackled by some overzealous soldiers, and was knocked out. He came to on the prisoner's cart.

Just bad luck. Unless you count a dragon showing up at that absolutely excellent time. That was very good luck.

well i was praying at the shrine of hircine in cryodiil and asking for a worthy hunt that would challenge me and then he answered me by saying "go fine hunter to the cold mountain tops and tundra's of skyrim there you will find a creature worthy of the hunt Dragons have returned to your world mortal." i then set out to skyrim the next day two weeks later i was in the woods close to helgen i stopped in the settlement and asked for the nearest town and they pointed me to falkreath. on my way to falkreath there where some imperial soldiers chasing what looked like regular unarmed people i watched and saw them be captured and about to be executed. before they were i shot the officer dead in the chest with an arrow and then the other next to him as i ran over to help the people they stood up and asked who i was and before i answered was shot with an imperial arrow in the shoulder and blacked out soon after. i then woke up on a carriage with the 2 men i saved one was ulfric and the other a stormcloak comrade. i had no idea i had actually saved those who where sworn enemies of the empire. then we arrived at the gates of helgen. the rest is up to you

My Imperial was born in Windhelm, but his mother moved him to Bruma at a young age to live with his Nord father after the great war.. after his father died he joined a group of rebels dedicated to hunting down and killing important Thalmor figures. After the Thalmor started tracking down and executing members of his group, he fled to Skyrim, back to the land of his father, where he walked into an ambush..

'Cause I was patrolling the other side of The Wall and my brothers were killed by The Others.

I saw this freaky little girl with glowy blue eyes and said "Forget this, I'm going south!"

I was actually trying to LEAVE the north until I was brought back.
