Will Bethesda ever fix the giant mace hits driving you to ou

I don't think it's a "bug" at all. I love it. I hope they never remove it.

Agreed.

Oh, it's great fun, keep it! I had my follower run up to me in a giant camp, being chased by the second giant (I'd jumped down a cliff to get into the camp, and offed the first one, so my follower had to take the "official" route into the camp - past a giant "standing guard" at the entrance), and he was sent into orbit.

It was funny enough seeing this giant running after my follower in a rage; the orbit thing was even funnier. Not-so-funny that I joined him soon after, mind. On reload, the same thing happened, but I killed the giant, and my follower obediently came running back to me a couple of minutes later. If there's a problem, it's that followers can survive a giant-induced fall from orbit, but don't survive when they get in the way of my MFD shout, for instance.

I have to say I don't consider it to be a glitch or a bug. It's actually a great way to teach players when they start playing Skyrim. I remember coming across a giant on day of release and since then I have always been weary of giants. I think they designed giants to have the attack.

As MadCat has said, The fall of the Space Core makes use of it, so I would consider it canon because of that. :P

All of you are wrong. It is not a glitch or bug. It something they put it .. something fun. They already said in previous Elder Scrolls games.

Fun things are not to be patched, even though this is not a bug at all.

Example: Dupe Glitch in Oblivion .. and some other fun bugs.

Same? I haven't had it happen since like 1.2 or 1.3ish. Then again I haven't fought a lot of giants... (Spent 95% of my 'Skyrim time' modding)

How on earth is this a glitch? I'm pretty sure this must be what the creators intended, and it's pretty damn awesome.

I totally agree!! Once you have learned the actions NPC`s will take during combat, and have refined your tactics the game becomes a little easy even on master.

Know yourself, know your enemy and you will hold the key to victory.

I've never been launched thanks to a giant, I exploit their obvious handicap of being too big to get to certain areas or through certain openings.

Right, the only time I was sent into orbit by a giant was when I chose to let the giant do it to me never because I wasn't paying attention. There are several things that you can do to trick the AI of NPC's, moving to a high spot that they themselves( NPC's ) cannot reach is a good example, or moving left and right as you approach an archer, it's all about out thinking your opponent and the AI in games isn't anywhere near close to being able to out think me, might catch me off guard with numbers but even then you usually can get yourself out of it.

This is exactly what I do. Most NPCs will act the same as each other, or so I've noticed, making them predictable.

I'm with the rest of the crowd here.. or at least the majority. Don't want to be used for a ball on the giant's driving range.. don't go up against them at too low a level. I've been fighting giants since 30th level and they still hit hard, but I try not to stand around and let them knock me across Tamriel. Use a bow if you don't like the up close and personal. But IMHO it's most certainly not a glitch.

I do think that the "giant sending you to the stars" was intended to some extent. Surely you shouldn't lose followers (until you fast traveled) or fly that high in the air. There's no immersion in that.

I don't like the "...but it's a superhero/fantasy game. Everything is possible..." argument. If we were to think that we might as well bring back the nirnroot glow duplicating bug, chicken reports crimes, navmesh bug and introduce new ones. Perhaps "make a random semi-important npc stand in the middle of the wilderness instead of where they're suppose to be..." or more crashes?

Oh, and perhaps that why many quests haven't been fixed. Because "...it's a superhero/fantasy game. It's suppose to be that way...".

Why are you folks so hippie minded? It's nothing wrong to aim towards realism, as long as one doesn't overdo it.

See your not getting it... Were not asking for them not to fix bugs, but wasting time on fixing this is just plain stupid. Like you said there are quest and other important glitches to fix, this does not even quallify for the spot of needing to be fixed.

You know the bug, it's there since beginning: giants with a power hit can make you fly to the moon...
Example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oso_mmhvm-Y
(BTW, why the giants move mouths but don't emit sound shouting at you nearby?)

Will ever Bethesda correct these kind of bugs/glitches? This product needs a bit more care, before new adds :(

I would have to disagree. First thing is why is it that this glitch is such a proplem. Its happened to me; I laughed a bit and moved on. Secondly, all the MAJOR problems have been taken care of by Bethesda. It sound like to me that you are really looking for something to crticise about this great game.

I haven't been catapulted by a giant in a long time. But, honestly, I don't want them to "fix" this issue. I think it's hilarious.

Glitches like these are welcomed by me. I love the ones that make me laugh (even if it results in my death... sometimes especially so). Video games throughout history have had crazy glitches. If the don't break the games, most gamers that I've known have actually enjoyed them and pointed them out to other gamers (I'm an old-school gamer).

Edit: One more thing. If it seriously bothers you that much (which I find hard to believe), I have a workaround for you that is really easy to use - don't get killed by giants... problem solved.

Best tactic to take down Giants at level 1 without kiting them (too much), grab a bow and a quiver packed with arrows, start loosing some arrows at the giant, as soon as you see him raise his club above his head for the homerun strike, sprint (yes sprint, running isn't fast enough :P) towards him and literally under his arm as he brings it back down to earth, you will probably get some splash damage and a little stagger, but if you are quick enough you can turn and fire some more arrows into him, then repeat.

It's a little challenging until you get used to it. But it's fun playing that close to certain death. :D

Any bug that only happens to your corpse is null IMO, you couldn't play on as a corpse, so what difference does it make if you just spin round and fall dead (hate that spin animation, thank god for mod ;p) or take a short flight?

That's not a bug, it's a feature. They better not take it out.

I saw a flying bandit last night.

You will be a higher level. When you get to a certain level or armour rating they can't do it to you anymore.

I just looked up Giants in the CK. The 'outer space' effect only happens when the Giant performs a power attack. The Giant's Power Atteck is actually a Destruction spell that is unique to that particular power attack. It is called "crGiantClubSlam" and it hits the player with a massive stagger effect among other things. It is not a glitch. It is coded into the game.
Sounds like they were just messing with the numbers, and they decided to keep it. Brilliant.

... If we were to think that we might as well bring back ... chicken report crimes, ...
As far as I've noticed, chicken keep reporting crime. I remember killing the cow at Gerdur's house in Riverwood, at night. I got the message saying that my crime had been reported and when I killed the chicken, I got another message saying that the "last witness" had died and that the reward had been cancelled, or something to that effect. It was some time ago though, around patch 1.2 or maybe 1.3. :)
