Will you buy another Obsidian/Bethesda game?

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2011 8:53 pm

Since Obsidian/Bethesda isn't saying anything (or doing anything as far as I can tell) about all the glitches and severe problems that a majority of players are having with Fallout:New Vegas, will you continue to buy their games knowing that they are more interested in raking in your money than fixing a shoddy piece of work?

Sure I will. They have created some of my all-time favorites.

I won't buy one on release day again, though, that's certain.

My friend loves fallout but warned me of Bethesda bug problems in past games. I should of listened.

Won't be buying another Bethesda product until months after it's released.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. I will NEVER buy another bethesda game again until it has been out long enough to at the least find out how many nasty bugs are present and how fast they are being fixed. Had F:NV for almost what 2-3 weeks now and have only played it 2 days (got hit by the missing DLC bug in that time and not gonna put in another 20+ hours to get slammed by it again).

I said I would boycott Obsidian after Alpha Protocol - but NV looked way too good to pass up. I should've known better.

Never again.

Obsidian - Absolutey Not
Bethesda - Absolutely

I would be blown away if Bethesda trusts Obsidian again.

Depends on how they support New Vegas. I'm certainly not getting any expansion packs until all or most of the bugs get patched.

I'm with this. I love this game, and if they take care of us, I'll consider buying another product. If they don't fix this, there is no way I will ever buy another game.

I wish I could corrupt save file the money I paid them with... =\

Next time I'm gonna check if it's bugged or not. If I had known I wouldn't have bought New Vegas.

Well, I'll absolutely be purchasing RAGE, BRINK, and the new Hunted.
I'll also be buying ES:5.
I love Bethesda games, they're the greatest game makers in the business.
Shift happens.
I may not like it, but it does.
With the level of sophistication that Bethesda brings to the gaming universe, stuff like this is bound to happen.
Nobody likes it, but we have to deal with it, and let's face it.
We're all buying the next Bethesda game.

I will not, nor have I ever preordered a game.Games don't 'sell out' anymore like its 1994 and I could care less if I get a 'free' piece of armor and a set of spears in-game. I waited a week and read up on how bad the bugs are, then I decided to purchase the game because I read that patches were in the works and overall its still a great game.

I never will buy a fallout or elder scrolls game on day of release, or any game for that matter. It'll kill me not to be playing elder scrolls as soon as possible, but I have to know first how disasterous the bugs are and if the game is getting a lot of support after its release

Never again until the game is less than its original price and has all game-ending errors resolved. These games aren't worth full price. Even after that: I'd really have to think about it REALLY hard.

The thing is this happens with ALL of their big games. It is the same bugs and glitches over and over again. I love Bethesda games but it is getting bad when you put out a patch that fixes over 200 bugs and there still seems to be 1,000's of bugs still in the game. The should have known seeing as alot of these were in Fallout 3. They needed to sit down and push back the release to fix the problems, instead they didnt care and released it anyway knowing we all would buy it. Once they have the money they could care less what you do with the game. Also for me Rockstar>Bethesda.

If you want sophistication in gaming, try Blizzard. Until then, have fun buying broken games that don't get updated, because people like you will give them money whether or not they finish or refine their products. The incentive to produce a good game is profit, just like any other trade. If you can make profit selling junk, then your going to do it.

Bethesda aren't developing Rage, Brink or the new Hunted. They are publishing those games. And none of those games are running on the Gamebryo engine, which is most probably the main cause for the issues with these games.

Bethesda/Gamebryo games maybe rich in content and story telling, but on the technical side they are pretty poor to say the least. Fallout 3 was one of my favourite games of all time, but I was relatively lucky with that game in that I saved often and encountered only issues of constant crashing... which is frustrating enough. But with crashing and a broken save in New Vegas, it's just not fun playing games that you feel could brake any second.... I mean the game stalls for a split second every time I switch weapon. The tech is just poor, and it's painful to know there is such a great game under all that dirt.

I certainly won't be buying another Bethesda game that uses the Gamebryo engine, at least not at launch.

We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to people advocating or admitting to piracy, if you want to vent about the game that's one thing but please keep it within the rules.

Yeah, I'll definitely still buy them. This is the first time I've bought a game on its release day, and while I haven't encountered any major or game-breaking bugs, I've decided to take a break on playing until we hear about a patch. Next time I may not pre-order their game, but I will buy it.

I think it depends on when they fix the game, i've been checking the forums since launch waiting for people to say something like "Thanks for finally fixing the game, now i can enjoy it!" but nope, nothing :(

Maybe, it depends on how long they take to fix this game up and what the next game is.

I certainly will never pre-order from them again. I think I will wait at least two weeks from release while checking the massage boards. They should be ashamed of the product just released or I should say the condition of the product they released. The game itself seems like it should be great when polished. I think weeks should prove enough time to get some honest reviews from real gamers outside of the major marketing blitz. If you look at customer reviews on sites like Gamespot, there are some really suspect (10) scores keeping things artificially high. You can still read between the lines when you see enough 2's and 3's outlining problems. This forum seems an excellent site for some good honest opinion. I will never ever again beta test a game for Obs/Beth.
Caveat Emptor all the way.

They didn't develop New Vegas, either.

Never pre order. Never 1st week. Only after reviewers and other gamers have their say.
