Witcher 3, savior of TES?

Post » Wed Feb 06, 2013 11:30 am

I'm actually more interested in their cyberpunk rpg "Cyberpunk 2077". But the witcher 3 is going open world? That's very interesting. CD Projekt Red are ambitious people thats for sure.
I wish more game studios were like them. They always think of their fans, which is a good thing.

That may still be there. An open world with great story telling and writing in today's market? Thats something to hope for even if it falls short.

Eh, I didn't really like their open world, but the quests besides the mq were definitely good. And the companions.

Assuming that CDPR delivers on even half its promises, it can only help the fantasy RPG genre. They are seriously ambitious and seriously devoted to fans, and I for one am excited to see what they come up with. It will make the pain of waiting for Fallout 4 and TES VI more bearable.

As for W3, i wait till i see more (im more looking forward for gothic formula than TES one tbh), but im sure the story and characters will be better

Spoiler
He bloody rescues Triss, helped Yenny out alot, and is in general a nice guy.

Because you could kill him in the ending of Witcher 2.

I don't know. It depends on what CDPR is going to do. If they do let us import the choices we made from the previous games, that would be awesome.

Witcher 3 wont force TES to do anything becuase witcher is fundimentally a different game to TES, in terms of overall goals.

Not to mention that going from a largely linear game, to a big open world game, isnt going to help Witcher's story, or gameplay, unless they do a lot of cheap tricks that games like Dead rising 2 do by putting timers on quests for FORCE "consequence", which was, and is, one of the most HATED features of dead rising 2.

Know for a fact w3 will be the best rpg of all time, CD Project are the boyo's... see what they created with the Witcher with such limited resources, see how they improved on the original game with Witcher 2... now they are going strong and putting all the time they need into making sure the game is world class instead of firing out any old sheyt once a year.

I wish bioware had the same attitude as these guys.

Skyrims is a fantastic game, the world and atmosphere are second to none, the characters and story line leave alot to be desired... when you get Skyrims world combined with a story line and characters akin to a game of thrones then you have a game! and I believe if anyone can do it, its CD Projekt.

CDPR even said that, even though they are going for a open-world design, they still want to keep the deep and complex narrative and characters. It's completely possible to do both.

Voted to wait until it comes out. However from what I have seen and read about the game it looks pretty awesome. I think a real rival to Skyrim and competition from other developers can only be a good thing for TES and ultimately the gamers who purchase and enjoy these types of game.

And I really want to believe that they will. I admit I have my doubts but then CDPR seem so excited about it that I end up thinking that they can make it work. I enjoyed the witcher because of its story and characters. If they can add open-world on top of that, then I'm sold.
