Worst ending to a game EVER!

Even worse than "Congradulation! This story is a happy end"?

Yea, it wasn't that great, but honestly I couldn't care less. When I want to spend endless hours immersed in a world I play skyrim, when I want an epic and difficult boss fight I boot up the ps3 and play dark souls.

Looking for things in the wrong place, ES games are about the YOUR story, not the MQ, and there has never been real difficulty to the games, it's the journey dude.

True, for fighting the destroyer of worlds it wasn't very holywood, but battles are battles no matter where or when you fight them, they dont get spectacular just to fit with a storyline. Besides, no-one said you have to follow the story of the Dragonborn.

Hopefully in the next ES game after you complete the MQ you get 30 mins of cutscenes/video with a voiceover, narrated by Patrick Stewart.

Only if they also give me a way to NOT have to listen to/watch it. Eww.

You will have NO choice in the matter I am afraid. First 'Steam' made compulsory, next viewing MQ video endings. It is a slippery slope. It's fine if you like skiing.

At least you waited until 136 hours of gameplay. I did it after 10, so the rest of the game is a bit less "epic" now... still got to do Dark Brotherhood quests, companion quests, etc., but it's just not the same.

I expect I'll wait next time, and play Dragon Fights in very hard mode.

I was unaware the game had an ending, the main quest is just another questline. Go do something else.

That's the thing about TES games.. The game isn't really over after you complete the main quest. Even if you've done all of the side quests and found all of the locations, there's still the DLC to look forward to.

Mass Effect 3 has the worst ending. Skyrim's is better, at least I have closure on my terms.

Who cares about the boss battle! I love Skyrim's ending cause of Sovngarde! The boss battle prolly svcks cause Bethesda was more into making Sovngarde then a stupid fight!

Sovngarde is by far one of my top 5 favorite places I've been to in any games. And I thx Bethesda for that!

I have to completely disagree with the OP. Mass Effect 3's ending was far worse than that of Skyrim.

In truth.... TES games have no "ending". The MQ may offer a momentary hiatus, but the game, and one's life in it, goes on forever.

But he made thread long before Mass Effect 3 was released ;)

And i disagree. ME3 ended, not that conclusively or making any sense, but it ended. Skyrim just stopped.

Alduin's boss fight was terrible. He didn't get any new tricks, he didnt get harder, he didn't turn the heroes against us, he doesn't do anything new. And he goes down like a complete wimp. That isn't even taking into account how pathetic of an antagonist he is, but if his boss fight was good it would have at least redeemed his sense of power...but all around we got a pathetic loser of a dragon.

There is no "ending" to Skyrim except the one you give it. And boss fights are waaaay overrated.

Yawn, another "The main quest svcked" thread. It's a sandbox game. The focus is on world building and things to do not epic battles unfortunately. You can enjoy it for what it is or move on to something new.

And that is why Daggerfall and Morrowind had excellent endings.
No, its a matter of storytelling. Of pacing, of motivating and of the challenge at the end.
All of these things are missing in Skyrim.

All hail Mannimarco! The King of Worms!

Also the OP appears to be incorrect as many Mass Effect 3 players will agree. Guess that happens when you use words like EVER.

like said before , skyrim is not a "hardcoe" game, and when your anngry try and talk some sense rather than rage over a game.

I guess I messed up my ending somehow. Nobody was at High Hrothgar and I had let Parthanax (sp?) live. I couldn't find Esbern or any of the Blades anywhere. It was just like nobody there to support me after I killed the damn thing. It was depressing... I hope I do it better next time! LOL
