Worst Movie ever made.

I respectfully and completely disagree with your choices, sir. Serenity is one of my favourite movies ever and I was truly amazed at how much I enjoyed Drive.

Note: Of all the films that were released this year, you chose a TV show as your favourite movie of the year?
Well, I watched all the Firefly episodes (I loved every second) and just could not get into Serenity at all. It just seemed off or odd. It didn't "feel" right.
I wanted to enjoy drive, but with all the little stuff in it, it just bothered me. Way too much unnecessary violence and the main character always seems to just stare at everything. Ohh scary.

A game of thrones is the only thing I have watched this year that I have either already seen (star wars/star trek) or didn't flat out svck or fail to impress me.
My wife loves the show as well, and each part was 1 hour long, watched over a weekend was 10 hours, a far better show/movie than anything else I watched this year.

At least movies like the room are entertaining in how bad they are.

Serenity is actually what got me interested in Firefly and Joss Whedon, which also got me interested in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel so that's probably a big reason why I love it even more.

I felt that Drive was misrepresented in its trailers. I don't know about you, but most people went to it expecting to see a big action movie and were then disappointed when they actually got a relatively quiet and thoughtful film. I don't think that Ryan Gosling's character quiet manor was meant to be scary, what I got from it is that he's pretty shy(I really hate using that word, but I can't think of a more appropriate one). It's definitely the sort of movie that you either love or hate.

As for Game of Thrones I completely agree that it is the best thing I have seen all year. I watched every single episode in one day online just because I couldn't stop myself.

As for my favourite movies of 2011:
3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
2. X men: First Class
1. Rango

I've seen a LOT of bad movies. Heck, I go to a 24 hour film marathon at a local art theater once per year that's pretty much dedicated to bad movies. That said, although it's a cliche response because it's a film that's been made popular by its reputation as one of the worst movies ever made, I have to go with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIo7Eq4Xq5Y. The reason that movie always takes the title for me is that to this day the director of the film still maintains that the film is great and that it was in no way intended to be silly or comical. That's honestly really hard to believe, but is supposedly true. There's even a documentary about it called Best Worst Movie.

I actually liked Napoleon Dynamite. I think the weird, somewhat sad sense of humor must be on the provincial side, because nobody I know personally that hasn't lived most of their life in the U.S. or Canada gets it. I don't just mean that they don't think it's funny...I mean that they don't identify things that are intended to be funny in the first place. I thought it was a solid B, personally. Then again, I didn't realize how immensely well-known it had become either, so my inner hipster was never roused.

I wish we had a 24 hour movie marathon in my town. And that trailer was... something.

Anyone know of a movie called Tanner, or something? It has a guy dressed as Ronald Reagan killing a bunch of hippies. I don't recall much of it, but I'm sure it was pretty bad.

I completely forgot Manos: The Hands of Fate, which is probably a good thing. I hesitate to call it completely terrible because I watched it in a MST3k episode.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die is a perfect example of a movie that's so terrible its funny.

I think another worse film or films should be the Star Wars Preqeals and here's some reason (I can't list them all).
1: Jar-Jar.
2: Bland character dialogs.
3: Characters sitting on a couch and talking.
4: The over use of the shot-reverse-shot (character dialogs).
5: Force no longer a mystacl thing but now somehting on a cellular level.
6: Forced relationship (honestly how is Anakin Skywalker killing a village of Sand People enough to win Padme's heart. I never knew that genocide was one of her turn-ons).
7: Jar-Jar.
8: No one on the Jedi counsel can form an elaborate thought process on Palpatine. Palpatine may know the ways of the force to cloud their thoughts but surly there's a range limit. I'd say this if one person-IF ONE MAIN PERSON could make a clear thought----Palpatine's plains could have been ruined eairly.
9: Anakin was triked in to joining the Dark Side he wasn't subduced by the Dark Side.
10: Jar-Jar.

Ok, I keep hearing that people watched the actual Manos, and then some kind of MST3K version. What is MST3K?

The Deer Hunter. Ten minutes worth of story, carefully hidden in three hours of movie.

Not the worst ever, but Battle for Los Angeles was very, very disappointing. Terrible special effects, lame plot (was there one?) and just awful. I expected so much more from the trailer.

i keep hearing almost everyone disliking episode 1 and espcially cause of jar-jar, but i liked him! episode 1 is mine and one of my friend's favorite star wars. i mean come on, qui gon and darth maul? 2 best characters ever, and the fight scene at the end was abosultely amazing in every way possible.

also, i don't see how killing all the sand people was a bad thing. they terrorize people day in and day out and kill anyone who isn't a fellow sand person. if someone capture, [censored], tortured, and let your mother rot away and die, wouldn't you kill the animals responsible if you could?

force isn't viewed as mystical as it was in episodes 4 5 and 6 because jedi and the force were still widely spread. people new about the force instead of it being more of a legend.

jar-jar is funny and brings character and flavor to the movie, he's sort of like threepio.

"triked," seduced, its pretty similar, i don't know how this makes the movies bad. anakin wanted to learn the dark side because he was given ideas of immortality and ressurection. Thats seducing in my book, luring someone with ideas of power. Plapatine had a hold over vader, he could sense vader's thoughts and presence, and Vader knew the emperor could destroy him after all the other jedi were outcasts or slain. Vader pretty much gave up anyway since padame died and he already comitted so many attrocities. vader wasn't made to be 'mind controlled' anyway in 4 5 and 6, if thats what you're implying. He talks about ruling the empire with luke in #5, luke senses vader still has some good in #6, and Vader ends up turning on the empereor while in his presence. If vader was just mind controlled by the emperor that would have made for a pretty bad plot device.

Yes, there is a range to palpatines thought-clouding. But if you're past that range, you also can't reach far enough to reach palpatine anyway, especially since he's more powerful than most if not all the jedi. its pretty much like this, "my cloaking device has a range of 150 and your sensors have a range of 100." I'm sure with all his study of the forbidden powers of the dark side of the force, palpatine had the resources to keep his plans hidden.

However, I do agree with people who say the CGI wasn't as good as the special effects of the original series. I mean, the ships were actually real 'just scaled down' instead of looking like fake green screen [censored]. plus, the ship models looked way cooler in the original series anyway. Anyways, to each their own

Drive.
All my hopes, crushed.

Things I found stupid.
Mustang shifts while in reverse twice? Three reverse gears? Yeah right. Explanation is "lol he modded it cause he is pro at working on cars." Get real, you expect me to believe that it has a 9 speed (6 forward and 3 reverse) transmission? Like big truck? How about no.

Chase seen with said mustang, mustang cant outrun big heavy Chrysler 300 at all. Weights 500-700ish pounds more.
Had 100+ horsepower less, much less torque.

Chrysler 300, 300Hp at a bit over 6K rpm.
Mustang 5.0, 412 on 93 octane.

Mustang weights less, has way more power. Can't outrun it, and I am supposed that believe that, the driver svcks at driving, or is just playing with the following car (why?) or that the Chrysler 300 is "lol modded bro" as well.

Ryan Gosling, worst acting I have ever seen.

Movie is supposed to be "artsy", instead is just pure garbage IMO. Wost movie I have seen all year. Even the fast five was entertaining even with all the stupid stuff that happens in it, like pulling a vault and police chargers that are exactly the same yet some are faster than others and "lol gear changes."

The green hornet was good, but underrated.
Serenity, huge let down after watching Firefly.

Best movie I watched all year? A game of thrones. Ok its not a "movie" but it was good.

"War. War never changes."

Oops, wrong movie/game.

You'd think that Ron Pearlman would've been the only saving grace of that movie. Then you have to see Albert Brooks. Just watching the trailer and seeing Albert Brooks in it you should've automatically known that, "Oh man, this movie is going to svck."
