The average person spends something like 20-25 years sleeping during their lifetime. Such a waste.

I do enjoy sleeping, don't get me wrong...but that's because we're wired to enjoy it, since we get tired. If we didn't have to sleep, and didn't need REM, oh yes, I'd be up all the time. I think even if we didn't
need sleep to survive per se, you'd still get enjoyment from lying down and relaxing now and then if you felt like it. Muscles would still get sore/stiff and overworked at times, after all. And blankets when you're cold would still be cozy, even if you aren't sleeping.
