Xbox One passes PS4 on amazon

Post » Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:56 am

And what numbers are those? How many Xbox Ones have been preordered on Amazon.com, vs how many PS4s? We can only see that the Xbox One is ranked #1, but not by how many units. PS4 is ranked #3, 4, 5, 8, and 15, with various launch bundles. How many of each of them has been preordered, and how does that compare to how many Xbox Ones?

Before you say "As shown by the numbers," you better actually have some numbers to provide.

this is true but I think the only hope PS4 has after Xbox fixed most of the gripes is that it's $100 cheaper. I still believe the many problems with PS3 left enough of a sour taste that a cheaper PS4 won't be able to recover from

I can't believe so many people forgave M$. Bunch of fools IMO.

I'll stick with the PS4. I'm enjoying the exclusives that are coming up. Far better than what the Xbox has shown. Might get one down the line though, who knows.

PC gamers have every right to giggle at them. This article pretty much sums up how a lot of PC gamers feel about it.

Yes. Microsoft managed to miraculously backpedal into the front of the race.

I always looked at it like this: PS4 #1 sold 15, PS4 #2 sold 10, PS4 #3 sold 5, PS4 #4 sold 3, and XBOX1 sold 20. Total PS4=33. Total XBOX1=20.

None of this really means anything because they aren't showing numbers. Sony's total could be way higher than Xbox due to the bundles, or Xbox could be way ahead because it is number one.

It also seems that The Last of Us has sold more than any PS4 bundle.

Edit: Plus Xbox games are pretty high up in the list, so obviously some kind of market for the stuff is around.

And it still won't matter because Nintendo is going to school them both once again. Haha.

ha ask the Skyrim PS3 owners :P

seriously though there's a long dirty laundry list of things that the PS3 handled poorly...pretty much the only thing that they did better then Xbox 360 was the blu ray player

I'd argue that's Bethesda's fault. Either way, the PS4 doesn't have the weird architecture of the PS3, so I still don't get the point of judging the PS4 based on its predecessor.

What am I missing here? XboxOne has only one bundle, while PS4 has many bundles? Is this a good thing or bad thing? I rather have the all in one bundle, which, Xbox seems to have, and hate having different bundles where you have to buy more later on.

I have pre-ordered both. I don't like what Xbox is doing and was considering to dropping my pre-order and stick to PS4. Now what am I missing in these "bundles" that Sony seems to be doing? I don't want to buy more because my kids want this and that. So what is the "complete PS4 bundle"?

As for winner or loser, I don't want to see one. Why? I want competition, and keep it going. For a while it seemed, PS3 failed, but they seemed to learn, and the 360 became better because of it. Now it seems the rolls have turned. So hopefully this will now make the PS4 better, and Microsoft will learn to make their product better now or hopefully soon after launch.

Sony has bundles with a game and a PS+ subscription. Microsoft just sells the console.

We won't know until about 6 months after launch of both devices who is the sales winner, or if it's a balance, or they both flop. The early adopters will have spoken, or spoken out. The fence sitters will have made their choice based on how what these systems are really like.

Do we even know what the allocations are that each retailer got? It could be a small enough number that a sell out was guaranteed, just to create more buzz. But they have a whole bunch to ship out on Release Day +1 to cover Wait Lists.

My eb store guaranteed the first 10 people. After that it depends if they get more. My guess is 2-5 conoles per store on launch like last release launch so they can say on the news they sold out. So they both will claim winning without releasing true figures.

What will tell if successful is games sold not consoles sold. Look at wiiu. From what I read Nintendo tooting their own horn about wiiu sales but how many games are they really selling? So I believe it will come to game sales, that is where the real money is made not console sales

A little? Don't count your chickens before they hatch gents, this console generation has only just begun. There's plenty of time for this so called "war" to be won or lost by either side.

In my opinion, the Xbox One seems to be the better system all around; gaming, entertainment, and the way its setup. Microsoft also seems more innovative. The only reason keeping a lot of people from buying it was the DRM and the privacy issues. With those out of the way, I feel like it's smooth sailing at this point.

Of course, watch cable on your Xbox...on your TV. It's to much media. I guarantee you that 95% of people don't really use that stuff. People only want gaming.

wait, what problems were these? IIRC, it was the Xbox 360 that had the major issues at launch, with a 60% console failure rate, not to mention massive reports of the console overheating. The only thing I remember wrong with the PS3 was it's huge initial price tag, and the fact that developers(which has nothing to do with the public) not liking how they had to design games for it.

Just wondering who won the console war this generation?(ps3,xbox,wii)

But anyway I am bit shock Ps4 bundle was beaten by Xbox one but then again I always remember that the majority of the human race isn't always the most intelligent in some situations.

I say its a tie between the 360 and PS3.

As far as bundles go, there are more PS4 bundles and odds are they are greater than the one Xbox bundle.

In the long term I feel that PS4 is going to sell more consoles, sonsidering MS is only selling the Xbox One in 15 or so countries whereas the PS4 is available in nearly every single one.

MS will, as it always has, done better in the United States, thats a given.
