In some ways this will actually improve the PS4 as well. I reckon Sony were feeling very smug after e3, but after this no drm announcement and resurge in xbox interest the're probably going "damn our main argument we were using is now invalid, we need to do more to make the ps4 look better".

Well I think it was explained pretty well how to get rid of Kinect if you didn't want it. Technically, it's still there in a form, so I guess you'd be right.
