Yagrum Bagarn the last Dwemer

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:49 am

If Divayth Fyr is still alive, it's possible he could have saved him.
if anyone can survive mehrunes dagons forces invading morrowind bar dau crashing and a subsequent argonian invasion i have little doubt it would be that old coot the man probably closed oblivion gates because it was something to do besides study the corprus. and divayth wouldnt let the last dwemer die :) hes one dunmer who earned the right to look down on everyone. but he doesnt so hes that much cooler in my book :)

Except that he is immortal and unageing due to corprus and that Divayth would most certainly escape the fall of Baar Dau, and wouldnt dream about not saving his friends as well if at all possible.

I said he would have no reason to be there, I didn't say he was dead.

There are Dwemer ruins in Skyrim as well as Hammerfell.
Maybe they went to investigate?

Easter eggs don't need a reason.

My thoughts exactly, since there were Dwemer ruins in Skyrim it would be cool if Yagrum came to investigate one for clues and answers.. :foodndrink:

Also some people have been wanting non-playable races, and other people (including myself) would love to see a dwarve in Skyrim. It will also be exciting to hear what voice he would have, due to the fact that in Morrowind he only spoke in text.

For anyone who's read the infernal city, did it mention anything about this? I swear I heard somewhere that Yagrum chose to stay behind when Divayth Fyr offered him a chance to escape the chaos.

I don't remember Divayth or Yagrum being mentioned in The Infernal City. Could be wrong, though.

What I always wondered related to Skyrim's main quest: Do the Dwemer vanish during every Kalpa? Otherwise their disappearance could be very important for the quest to save this one.

It would be very cool.

Almost a year ago a poster put an idea on a thread related to this that I still find intriguing.

Divayth is a big awesome wizard.
So at or just before red year, when Baar Dau fell, he would have just levitated his entire island, tower and all, to safety.

It would be very, very awesome to have in Skyrim a floating island in the sky that travels from city to city and can only be accessed by arcane means.
Cranky cold mudcrabs and all, cant you just see it? trailing roots through the air as it goes from Whiterun to Winterhold.

Something for a mod, Id think.
The Infernal City...?

Wouldn't it be cool if you met this Dwemer during your travels in Skyrim? Maybe Yagrum's search has sent him to Skyrim, still searching aimlessly for his lost people? :cryvaultboy:

He's probably dead (and most likely still where he was in Morrowind, how could he possibly travel in his condition!? Did Divayth Fyr save him?) but it would be cool if we got to meet him in Skryim, with his mechanical legs and everything :)

Is he even alive? Altough his Corprius disease makes him immortal doesn't it?

The book "The Infernal City" is based on events in Morrowind following what occurs in the game Oblivion and before the game that is Skyrim. In it, it describes how the hovering moonlet over Vivec city finally falls and crashes into the continent, a super-eruption of Red Mountain, and an invasion by Black Marsh Argonians. Basically, most of Morrowind is reduced to a wasteland. As such, since Skyrim is a neighboring nation to Morrowind, I'm expecting a heightened Dwemer influence in Skyrim from its influx of refugees, particularly in its eastern regions.

Divayth Fyr was a Telvanni, who, as I remember, was working on a cure for corprus disease, which Yagrum was inflicted with. The reborn Neraverine was his first successful cure. I suspect a cure from corprus would also reverse its immortality side-effect. Keep in mind, it's probably about 240 or so years between Morrowind and Skyrim. Also given the geologic and political events in that span of time, Yagrum or Divayth Fyr's survival odds are rather low. You never know, however. Divayth was a powerful wizard, after all.

What exactly is "The Infernal City" book? It sounds very interesting. Is it canon? Who wrote it? Maybe it's worth a read? :foodndrink:

Thanks for the info so far by the way!

I doubt that Yagrum will be an easter egg. He is immortal due to Corpus yes but odds are he did not survive the destruction of Vvardenfel. Even if he did, no one would let him leave Morrowind, if they chose not to just outright kill him due to the potential for him to spread Corpus. Has Corpus ever been documented outside of Morrowind? Vvardefel? Was the disease destroyed along with Red Mountain?

It's canon. =)

Also pretty good in my opinion, though I prefer Sul and Treb's parts of the story. I'll say no more to avoid spoilers.

As for Yagrum? It would be awesome to see him again, but i'd liek it to be done thoughtfully rather than just as an Easter Egg. I'd actually prefer to see Fyr again. He has as good a chance as anyone on/around Vvardenfell of surviving, though granted that still isn't a very good chance considering the sea still boils four decades later. Only thing to hope is that he felt the earthquake caused by the MoT and gathered his daughters and Yagrum for a teleportation before Red Mountain did its thing. He probobly had a few minutes to do so.

I agree that if he was to be in Skyrim he should be considered more than just an "easter egg". It was just my way of explaining such a strange and unexpected reappearance

Vivec I believe was voiced by MK, the man who created the character.
I do not know who was Azura.
You can see remnants of other forum posters in the mages that Vivec silenced, lol.

Lore buffs will be able to help better on this.

I am assured that the events at Hogithum Hall are canon.

Meh, kind of pointless to argue. As long as Bethesda doesn't say anything about it we'll never know.
But even if it was canon, I do not see how it makes Azura look bad, besides she losing 99,9% of her braincells.

Well it would be a bit difficult for him to still be in Vvardenfell with it being destroyed by a falling moon and an erupting volcano and all...

Fyr should be a essential quest giver during the main quest in Skyrim, just as in Morrowind. :vaultboy:

Actually, a whole expansion dealing with Fyr, Yagrum, and the Dwemer would be awesome. Perhaps adventuring through more and bigger ruins, discovering more of Kagrenac's writings and tools, as well as perhaps unlocking more to the secret of where the Dwemer went (assuming they went anywhere, and were not wiped from Nirn when they used Wraithguard/Keening/Sunder on the heart of Lorkhan).

I agree. If there is one legit link between the Dwemer and the main character, it will most likely be Yagrum and Fyr. If Bethesda decided to kill them both they would never be able to integrate the Dwemer to TES, or atleast they are throwing away a big opportunity to build on the Dwemer mystery..

Maybe they are still in Morrowind, I don't see Fyr moving anywhere.

Or he's dead, giant volcano and stuff you know.
