Mandatory curfew? What part of 1930s Germany do you live in?

You do realize there is a curfew in america right. Like if you're under age a cop can pick you up and call your parents. If your parents say it's ok for you to be out they will have to go to the nearest house you can they won't allow you to walk around an empty closed shoping center.

But as far as midnight releases you have nothing to worry about cops dont show up and ask for ID's and they wont really bother you because it's not like you're doing anything that would make them think you're up to no good.

I've been waiting for TES:V since the day Oblivion came out, and I've decided to go to the midnight release for it at my local gamestop.

This is my first midnight release, but I have a problem. Curfew here is 11pm for those who are under 18. I happen to be 17, old enough to purchase Skyrim, but not old enough to meet to have no curfew.

If I am just outside gamestop with other people, or inside(I don't know how these work, are you in our outside the store?), can I get in trouble with the law?

I'm nervous. :obliviongate:

You have a curfew? Where the hell do you live? Nazi Germany? Post 9-11 America?

Didnt know that the US had an actual curfew for under age people. I've been to the states numerous times on business and vacation - But I live and learn I guess.

What a sick world we (you) live in.

Most cities have anti-loitering ordinances. But my city, and many others, doesn't have gestapo like mandatory curfews.

We have a form of anti loitering, it's called "move along"

It's really only a problem on the way to and from wherever you're getting the game, and you should be fine as long as you're driving safely. Cops can't pull you over without a reason.

When you're at the event, nobody will bother you. (btw, I have been to a few midnight releases and they usually make you wait outside.) I'd be more worried about the drive/bike ride/radical skateboarding tour home. Just make sure to be the perfect citizen on the way home, obey all traffic signs etc. and you should have no trouble whatsoever.

And let me take a moment to salute your courage, flouting local law to support the national economy by buying a game. This country stands today on the support of consumers like you.

Cheers to you, sir. :foodndrink: <-- (root beer it's legal)

You can always try growing a beard within the next 24 hours. That'll throw them off your trail.

EDIT: Mall Cops will only kick you off of the property if you're making trouble. Real cops will more than likely leave you alone, they don't have magic eyes that tell them your age.

hahaha.... mall cops? you mean 'damn security'? they are not even closed to police. don't be confused. by the way, they are annoying sometimes. every time when I go to Las Vegas, there are tons of security who don't even need to work some places. they are so annoying in Vegas. but let me tell you something. if something will happen in casino, most security can't handle real situation. they will just call police. what a pathetic. then they say that they work for casino. what? I think that more than 70% of security don't deserve to be real(?) security. at least, you should do some martial arts. but they can't. I just ignore them mostly when I go to Vegas.

Curfew is an order, not a law. Being out past it doesn't land you in violation of anything except maybe a trip home in a squadcar. Here's a simple solution, don't carry ID. You are not required to present ID to a police officer unless you are being detained or he witnessed you breaking a law. Furthermore, gamestop won't have time to ID everyone who walks in the store, so you won't need it.

Your good as long as you don't start exclaiming it to police officers to haul you off to jail. I'm sure no one will be the wiser if you just chill and go with it like your 18. It's not like a cop is going to go out of his way to haul you off if your only a year away.

No, no.

Its not that.

Curfew laws are strict here.

I'm out till like 2 am all the time, but I am SOMEWHERE. Either in a car or at a party or something.

However, I am never standing outside a building past curfew. If I'm ever out and about on foot and not im my car, I try to avoid people because cops here do go after kids for curfew.

The land of the free isn't so free if you live in America. There are elementary students here who walk around at 11PM.

Just to fuel your paranoia, on my high school graduation night, I was 17 and out driving really late with a friend, and I came upon a DUI checkpoint. The good na?ve kid that I was, I thought "if I turn around in the middle of the road they'll probably chase me down and arrest me, so I'll just go through and explain that it's graduation, I haven't been drinking, and I'm just on my way home." Next thing I know they're making me pull off the road and call to wake my mom up at 3am to come get me, 2 minutes away from home.

I hate cops.

And on this note, actually here, not so much.

See there is very little crime in my community, very little.

My friends brother is 22 and looks 15. Hes been pulled over past curfew all the time. Just for looking young.

Probably the only arrests cops make here are drug busts and curfew violations.
