Do you enjoy any 'bad' or 'poorly recieved' games?

Prey. Gets bashed a lot, but I enjoyed it. Maybe because I didn't take the voice acting seriously.

Seems like just about everything I play these days is poorly received, either by critics, gamers or both.

Nier. Amazing soundtrack and a really good story, but the graphics and gameplay are slightly dated, the gameplay itself being a mishmash of multiple genres.

Also (not just going by scores):

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
Epic Mickey
Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and Re:Coded

Brink is a fantastic game and one of the best multiplayer shooters I have had the pleasure of playing. I wish people actually played it.

I agree. Brink is awesome. I also really enjoyed RAGE. I guess I'm a svcker for unique gunplay.

I don't read all that many reviews, but I think I have enjoyed some "bad" games in my time.

pff hell no, Condition Zero is one of those games that are so bad they are actually good. I personally loved the single player
That's what I like to hear. I love playing the single player not using any teammates and seeing how far I can get...and drinking every time I die. It usually goes well for the first several maps. SMG on Office 1v5? LOL. Autosnipe on D2 1v6? Easy. AWP on Prodigy 1v6? Cake. But...Tactical Shield on De_Airstrip 1v7...wtf? :ahhh:

Yea, Nexus was amazing. I think I have my old disc around here. As a kid it was a might over my head, but now in retrospective I realize how awesome it was. Hope for a sequel. http://www.games-plant.com/nexus2/

Wow!! Thank you for that! I hadn't dreamed they might actually make a sequel. I will be following this for sure.

Dragon Age 2 was poorly received, but I still think that the prime reason why is because of Dragon Age: Origins and not because of the actual quality of the game. I recognize that it doesn't compare to Origins, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Most likely. I don't really pay attention to reviews so I don't really know, except for http://ps2.ign.com/objects/822/822478.html from a while back.
I'm going to make a god sandwich with my GOD HAND

My favorite underrated game was Darkseed 2, I loved it, but for a lot of people it missed... Pal

I've plated a lot of games that have simply done poorly - but in general the reviews I've read overall tend to agree with my own feelings. I don't usually put much stock in actual "ratings" for a game, but for the most part (with what reviewers I care about) I'll agree with most of their points. Even a game that I really enjoyed, I'll agree could have been better, or understand why it only got an "average" review. For example, I really like Beyond Good and Evil, and it was well "received" by all accounts - it just wasn't a commercial success.
I really loved Beyond Good and Evil too. People seemed to hate it for the most part though.

I actually liked AC more than any of it's successors.
Oh I just couldn't get over Altair's voice actor... he sounded like a dude straight out of California but everyone else had middle eastern accents.

Honestly I think most of the games I've really liked have gotten bad reviews. The only other game I can think of is URU. I'm not sure what the reviews were but it completely bombed so...

ITT: Games that got good reviews

No?
Metro 2033: 81 / 100
Brothers in Arms Road To Hill 30: 88.7 / 100
Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood: 84 / 100
Brothers in Arms Hells Highway: 79 / 100
Where did you get these numbers from, not that I'm accusing you of making them up? From what I have seen the scores for these games range from 6 - 7.5 on average. Not that that is terrible but they either have flaws or appeal to a more niche audience.

I still feel that the Brothers in Arms games were far superior to any other WW2 FPS shooter I can currently think of...in my opinion.

Serious Sam 3: 77 / 100
Hellgate London: 71 / 100
Singularity: 76 / 100
Bulletstorm: 82 / 100
Divinity II Ego Draconis: 72 / 100
Supreme Commander 2: 77 / 100
Crysis 2: 86.79 / 100

Thanks Exorince for the info. Didnt realise some of these scored so high from remembering the reviews and how quickly they disappeared from view.

Out of what's been mentioned that I've played.

Paid full whack for Mirrors Edge on release and enjoyed it. Wasn't keen on how it succumbed to putting in shooting but you weren't forced to use weapons, still a shame that they felt they needed to include them

Brothers in Arms, the first one in particular was special and a nice change to the formulaic fps style.

Nexus The Jupiter Incident, :) :) So pretty, great voice acting and atmosphere. Love it!

Deus Ex: Invisible War, sure I enjoyed the first more but it didn't stop me having a good time in Invisible War.

Prey had some really good location design but it just felt like it was wasted and would have been served better by being more open in how you progressed through areas as opposed to the corridor shooter it was.

Beyond Good and Evil was just awesome. Great characters, writing, art style and sense of fun, pity it wasn't more successful. :(

Couple I've got that I liked and enjoyed even with their flaws despite either being slated or not being a commercial success.

Stolen, Alone in the Dark (most recent), Boiling Point, Risen, Unreal Tournament 3, Velvet Assassin, Urban Assault, XIII.

I think I agree with that in part, but it has elements that irritated the hell out of me regardless, excessive dungeon re-use and constant three-wave attacks being the worst examples. I really enjoyed a lot of the rest of it, but think it's a shame that those elements will probably never be fixed.

Dead to Rights: Retribution.

Quite solid gameplay though a little sloppy in some aspects. Playing as a dog was pretty cool too.
