Nords were always my favourite race so i play them first always. Imperials on the other hand are just Overated and annoying. Just the fact that everyone likes them makes me hate them more.

I feel presured to play Altmer because I always play Altmer... is that a good answer? ^_^;
Seriously tough, with right imagination everything fits... even an Altmer who must end up becomign enemy of his people due to Skyrim's storyline.

No. I will be a Nord at some point but it won't be for a while.

Starting off as either Wood Elf or Breton.

Good, that makes other raice also viable for the story. Still, Nord race fits most for Dragonborn

Well kinda, but thats not the reason i am playing as a nord.
Since morrowind i have been trying to make myown barbarian nord called Olav Stordrage,me and my friends writed stories about him lol.
But i couldnt create him in the way iwant,i mean in morrowind i wanted to,but nobody looked how i imagined him,and in oblivion hell no. He needs a beard, and the so called "beards"in oblivion is a joke, but now in skyrim i can finally create my nordic character, and +its his home country :) and i want to takerevenge at the imperials

Imperial would fit even better due to so many Dragonborns being Emperors and all...

I think racial abilities have a bigger weight in relation to which race will be chosen. Even if in Skyrim they're somewhat neutered, people will be influenced by them

Pressured? No. Will I be a Nord? Yes. But that is a result of being a descendant of Scandinavian heritage as well as Irish Rebels. Not to mention I'm a Texan who would support seceding from this cluster [censored] of a country

Almost every race has a motivation in the current political climate.

Nord: Directly involved, it's a civil war in his own homeland!

Imperials, All elves: They are the 3rd party with a direct stake in the civil war and it's outcome, failiure here will harm their entire empire.

Khajiit, Argonians: As breakaway states their continued freedom rests on the Empire not recovering. It is in their intrest to ensure Skyrim does not fall back to the empire.

Only the Orcs, Breton and Redguard have no immediatly obvious stake in the conflict.

I'm going Nord, then Orc, then Breton, then Dunmer, then Khajit, then Argonian, then Imperial...

I am never going to play a Redguard or one of the two lesser daisy-eaters...

Nord on my first play, then Altmer or Breton and Khajiit or Orc.

Nope, I am still playing as a female Dunmer.
My thoughts exactly!

Although probably for my third playthrough (after whatever male character I make next), I'm making a hot female redhead Nord. :hubbahubba:

I'm playing a Nord by choice. My main character was a Nord in Oblivion, and in Morrowind. If anything, I'm just glad my Nord will feel at home this time.

I also always play a Dunmer eventually. I don't feel any more pressure than I did in Morrowind to be a dark elf.

Woah, woah! I'm playing Khajiit, and planning on supporting the Empire; so this is of significant relevance to me. Why would it be better for the Empire not to recover?

Off Topic: Oh, and I like your avatar. Katia right?

My main character has always been a Nord previously, so I feel no pressure whatsoever to be one just because the province happens to be Skyrim, home of the Nords. I didn't play an Imperial in Cyrodiil.

After Martin died Elsweyr and Blackmarsh seceded from the empire. If the empire regains its former strength they are basically screwed

Nope, I plan on going Imperial for my Warrior type, Wood Elf for my Sneak/Assassin type, and Breton for my Mage type. My wife is going Nord for her main play as she has always done, and her second character is going to be wood elf.

In Morrowind and Oblivion, I never felt any pressure to pick one race over another in order to fit into the storyline. In Skyrim, there seems to be very strong pressure to become a Nord.

I'm not talking about stats or racial abilities. I'm not even talking about the way commoners treat you. I'm talking about the way the major factions view you.

Stormcloaks want to kick out the Imperials and make Skyrim the Nordish homeland once again. Really makes my orc feel right at home, huh? Meanwhile the Imperial legion is a shallow husk of what it once was, plus they tried to kill you then got their asses handed to them by a single dragon. No thanks.

Anybody else feel the same?

Nope....going with the Redguard because they make the best warriors.
