After Martin died Elsweyr and Blackmarsh seceded from the empire. If the empire regains its former strength they are basically screwed

Oh [censored].. Whelp. Time to support the Rebels! I never thought I'd type this.

Woah, woah! I'm playing Khajiit, and planning on supporting the Empire; so this is of significant relevance to me. Why would it be better for the Empire not to recover?

Actually, tl'dr - just read this ;)

Oh man.. I feel like such a fool for supporting the Legion; thanks for telling me this. I may not totally like the Storm Cloaks, but I'd rather they win than the Legion.

I feel compelled to be a Nord. They just seem to be the most natural dragonborn, also I generally play as the native race first.

In Morrowind and Oblivion, I never felt any pressure to pick one race over another in order to fit into the storyline. In Skyrim, there seems to be very strong pressure to become a Nord.
-----------------

I agree with you on this. The environs of Morrowind and Cyrodiil were diverse enough that I never felt like an illegal alien there no matter what race I was. From what I've seen so far Skyrim is a different situation. Everything I've seen so far has really been bringing out my inner Viking and pushing me to go native an be a Nord.

No way, it's the last thing I would want to be in the land of Nords.

I am really curious to see how the world reacts to a Dunmer.

I'm going Nord, then Orc, then Breton, then Dunmer, then Khajit, then Argonian, then Imperial...

I am never going to play a Redguard or one of the two lesser daisy-eaters...

You know one of the "daisy-eaters" you mention (Bosmer) are historically cannibals right?

Nope, I am still playing as a female Dunmer.

/purr

Male dunmer or male Altmer here.

Dont really fel pressured into it because of the setting / culture as I like being "an outsider".
