Do you guys hate people getting it early?

Do I hate that some people got the game early? No, not really. What I DO hate however is that it's the console players who get to sit down and play early while us PC users get the shaft yet again. It wouldn't bother me so much except for one thing. The TES games, as well as many other franchises that are too numerous to mention, Got Their Start on PC's, NOT consoles. Without the PC platform being the initial platform for all these games making them insanely popular console players wouldn't be playing them At All. Far too often these days companies forget their roots. They forget that it's the PC gaming market that made them their money so they can keep developing these games. Without PC's and PC gamers most of these companies wouldn't have a dime to their name. If anyone should have gotten special treatment or the ability to play the game early, it Should Have Been the PC Gamers, NOT the console gamers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a console gamer as well. I'm not a PC snob. I own a XBox360 and a Wii and my awesome high end gaming PC which I built myself. The first system of my own I ever had though was a console. The old school 8 bit NES that I got when it came out when I was 8-9 years old was my real start in gaming. I had played a couple PC games before then, but they were way old school. The computer my family had back then was so old it ran on tape cassettes (most of you youngsters probably don't even remember those), floppy disks didn't even exist back then. I think it was a Tandy but it's been so long I can't remember now. So I don't hate consoles or console gaming, far from it, but I do think these companies need to remember and give respect to their roots and the platform that started it all for them. The PC. If anyone deserves to be playing it early it's the PC gamers who's money made these companies so rich and powerful to begin with. Also, for the record, I'd still be saying that even if I didn't own a PC and was stcuk with just my consoles.

I hate the ones that pirate the game, but I think everyone hates them. As long as they paid for it though I feel happy for the ones that got it early.

The thing I hate about the pirates is that they get it early (it's been on some pirate sites since yesterday) and if that wasn't bad enough they get to circumvent all the Steam unlocking nonsense that's only in place to Fight piracy. Obviously it's failed miserably and yet it's still an integral part of the system that only hinders legitimate users who paid good money for a product. If I still lived where I lived 10 years ago I wouldn't have any internet except for dial-up, at which point verifying my purchase and getting updates would be practically impossible. None of the systems currently in place to fight piracy work, including digital distribution and draconian DRM methods, period. All they do is cause problems for honest consumers like us and make even more money for the corporate entities while the pirates get around them, get the game for free, and start playing and enjoying it with FAR less hassle than the rest of us. Honestly the way paying customers are treated these days makes me sick to my stomach. Companies should learn that a pirated copy of a game is NOT a "lost sale". Why? Because if someone pirates a single player game they NEVER planned on Buying It to begin with.
