Do you still watch "kid" shows?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:34 pm

Nostalgia. Obviously that doesn't apply to MLP, I don't really understand that phenomenon either.

Ah, the only thing I got to watch until I was 12 was PBS. Except Levar Burton's show... or was that on PBS?

Nah, I just watch

Avatar:Last airbender
My life as a teenage robot
Atomic Betty
Batman Beyond
Dan vs....
MLP:FIM
Transformers:Prime
Transformers:rescue bots
Phineas & Ferb
Invader Zim

The reason non-little-girls can watch MLP:FIM is that it is a family show & not just for girls unlike previous MLP shows

I can't tell if your joking or not, but thats The marvelous misadventures of Flapjack, not Adventure time. I agree, that show svcks.
Two totally different shows.
I know. I was talking about both of them. They're both terrible.

I can understand Flapjack but Adventure Time...That is possibly the only good show on today. Reminds me of the classic 90's cartoons.

I occasionally re-watch some show that I loved as a kid, like X-Men, Spiderman or Gargoyles, but I don't care about any recent stuff. With one exception. The only recent kid's show I watch is Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Started that last week, it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. I think that it'll keep me entertained for a few more weeks.

All my friends like it, but I can't get myself to like it. It grates on my nerves, which is weird, since I like really obnoxious shows like Edd Edd n Eddy. /shrug

No choice, kids; the older two rule the telly in the morning, and the little fella gets to watch what he wants the rest of the day. I can cope with the pre-school programmes, and just about stand stuff like Batman of the future and Yu Gi Oh, but whoever came up with Ultimate Muscle has my undying hatred. I get my revenge by giving the older boys the choice of watching Winx club with me, or buggering off to their room.

This. But I'd be lying if I said I watched them because of the kids. As soon as I get home from work I turn on the Cartoon Network or Disney or put on a movie that jusy happens to be a cartoon. Hell, I'm probably going to watch "The Muppets take Manhattan" or G1 "Thundercats" tonight.

MLP FiM

I've been meaning to watch Adventure Time, Avatar, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I haven't had the time though.

I still love Invader Zim, but haven't seen it for a long time.

I watch:
1: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
2: He-man and the Masters of the Universe (both classic and 2002 reboot).
3: She-Ra Princess of Power.
Those are basicly the shows I watch, other then that there's really nothing else on.

Well, in a manner of speaking. That show was amazing, but if I recall correctly the writers seemed to take Nickelodeon's censors as a challenge. It's kind of fun to go back and watch the stuff they managed to sneak past the radar.

I don't have cable, so I can't get most of the shows mentioned. For those available on antenna, the answer is no. Political correctness has ruined the few shows from the '60s that still have their name used today (Road Runner/Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo...).

However, these new kids shows are just plain terrible. Adventure Time, that stupid show with that blonde kid and the whale, etc. is crap. Total. Garbage.
is anyone noticing a pattern? kids shows have become mostly crap, music has become mostly crap, games have become mostly crap, tv shows have become mostly crap and so on.
I think there is a conspiracy going on.....

I watched Avatar: The Last Airbender when the series was on.

Now, I watch the Clone Wars. Most would call it a kids show, but it has some advlt themes in it. It's the only kids show on cartoon network where people are decapitated, cut in half, stabbed across the chest and back multiple times. Neck snapped. Stomped on once. Suicide. Bombs blowing up on people. Eh, there's more. It's animated, but I guess kids are growing up so I can't really use violence as an excuse. It's definetly more mature than some of the other kiddie shows. And I'm a Star Wars fan. But the dark themes keeps me watching it.

Well, we were talking about conspiracies and then you said you studied something that was censored. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

It's like a conspiracy or something.

I actually probably would watch Spongebob Squarepants or Ed Edd n Eddy if they were on. Also randomly decided to watch an episode of Phineas and Ferb this weekend after the Sheldon Cooper lookalike in my philosophy class reccomended it (he's going to Oxford so he's probably right about most things). Really well written and genuinely funny show with tons of things that they shouldn't be able to gey away with (like an episode where a character gets high on moss and has an acid trip).

I do watch MLP:FiM when I can, and Phineas & Ferb when there's nothing better on; also liked last year's new ThunderCats reboot (was also a big fan of the 1980s-era original during its heyday) ...but there aren't really any other modern-day cartoons that interest me.

I do have a ton of cartoons from back in the '90s and early-to-mid-'00's that I've recorded to VHS tape or DVD that I might dig out and watch occasionally, though. Garfield & Friends, Rocko's Modern Life, Earthworm Jim, Mega Man, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, etc.

I watch:
My little Pony.
The Marvelous misadventures of Flapjack.
Phineas and Ferb (sometimes)
I've been meaning to start watching adventure time, but I got a lot of school work at the moment.
