I seem to use less and less mods for each Construction Set game.

Morrowind = I used plenty (and made several ones myself).
Oblivion = I used a few mods (and made a few myself).
Fallout 3 = I used one mod.
Fallout: New Vegas = None.

After playing the vanilla game for some time, I usually find some mods, but I don't use a lot of them.

With Oblivion I've been running with 180+ active esp's and 40 or so merged before, though I found the game more stable with around 150+ active esp's and 30 or so merged. Of course, if you count things like MMM, OOO, UL ect as single mods then I've only been using seventy or eighty mods. I only use eight mods for FO3, though that equates to around 40 active esp files because I use overhaul combinations. So yes, I consider myself a hardcoe modder and thus feel that I am vastly superior to people who don't use lots of mods like me., though when I see what some people try and force there game to run sometimes I feel like I'm running pretty light.

I voted moderate use even though I've used more than 20 at a time.

The mods I tend to use are first and formost those that add/improve eating, drinking and cooking. Then a creatures mod, then probably some clothing and hair mods. Then if there are some good quest mods (they tend to come out later) I'll run through a few of those.

Oh also a mod to add a nice working farm is one I always look for if there is not something suitable in game.

i tend to have all of the landscape+city overhauls and one of the leveled list overhauls. usually just ooo.
better bodys and better clothes and what ever else says [better]
i used deadly reflex like one time but it was a buggy old version and i thought the animations were good but in need of tweaking, also i could never get the mounted combat working..which was why i downloaded it in the first place.
from then its just trying to find a decent looking armor that is not just a vanilla retex or something completely ridiculous and unfitting.
craftybits...still want more done with it.
nehrim...i play that more than vanilla now-days, im on my 3rd run now as a stealthy mage blade guy
and im still waiting for a good faction war mod that expands all the vanilla factions. i also want merp to finish up.
[oh yeah]
on the topic of nehrim, cant wait for the addon. and REALLY cant wait for ""project 5""
anything ...no... EVERYTHING those dudes do is magical. myar, arktwend, nehrim, cube experimental. SUREAI ROCKS...and now project 5 for skyrim...ooh...shivers down my spine.

I mod like there's no tomorrow. I've got over a hundred in my Oblivion game. A lot less in Fallout as there aren't that many mods for those that interest me. Mods pretty much make these games for me. The things I hate about them are quickly changed via mods, and I can have a nearly unlimited amount of playtime because our modding community is so robust and generous with their time. The fact that Bethesda releases the construction kit with each game is one of the many reasons I respect them so much as a dev company. They give us a huge, amazing world. Then they give us the tools and say "have at it."

Bashing my mods is a requirement for my Oblivion setup to work. The FF mods limit and all that. If that's not hardcoe I don't know what is.

For Oblivion and Morrowind, I was using a few mods each time. I d'ont like to use too many of them (it's easy to get trouble compatibility between mods)

This.
I started downloading some mods for Morrowind again. I'm going to start a new game with a new install and everything. I've already downloaded more than 180 files for that new install, and I consider it quite conservative since I'll add more mods when I actually start with my new character. Sure some of those files are very small mods that retexture maybe one or a few items, or are multiple files for the same mod (patches or a separate file for the Tribunal or Bloodmoon verison of the mod). But even then it's far more than just 20 mods.

This of course isn't a germ-free environment which will yield untainted results, but I'm throwing this out there anyway.

Results could possibly be skewed... you could argue anyone involved in a game's forum this far out from release is going to be your more hardcoe player. Still, I'm curious. Be honest.

In Oblivion I run 203 mods, right now, with several of those being merged for compatibility purposes, and have used (but no longer) probably twice that. In Morrowind, I use about 60 mods. Several of the mods I use are my own (for either game) and most of the mods I use I have further tinkered with to suit myself.

Yeah, I'll be modding and using mods in Skyrim too :)

I run ToJka's edition of each Bethesda game; the ultimate version. For me :hehe:

Oblivion: 194 plugins (including all the official ones).
Fallout 3: 85 plugins (including all DLCs, incomplete setup though).
New Vegas: 105 plugins (inclding both DLCs, but no pre-oreder packs).

It's fairly interesting:

TES games I use 20-30 mods.
Fallout, 10 or less.

Skyrim, I'll start with none, and probably finish a playthrough with 10 or less.
Each time I start playing (and often never finish after 100+ hours!), I add new mods and introduce my own custom tweaks.

(side note: if anyone knows of any usable learn-by-doing Fallout mods, HMA is there.)

Alas one hasn't been made. Several have been planned, but none have reached functional state.

A full FCOM build plus a long list of essentials in OB for me, currently right near the limit with 250 esms/esps activated with about another 120 merged and bash merged plugins. A few small mods of my own in the mix, for most things though somebody else has done it already and better than I could.

I'm going to try and last as long as I can in Skyrim without opening up the CK or jumping onto the Nexus and downloading any mods.

Going to check the nexus daily, and throw mods/tweaks in which seem appropriate (design flaws and the like).
Overhaul mods will last a lot longer to create.

Usually anywhere between 30 and 100 mods. I can't stand using half finished or half decent mods, they have to be polished enough so that they fit alongside Bethesda's work seamlessly.
