My favorite RPGs are Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Final Fantasy X, Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 1.

There are more I can't think of right now.

Dragon Warrior.
You have forever earned my love for this.

Aside from that, I'd also say Golden Sun or Fallout. These three series all hold special places in my life support system aided heart.

Overall...probably the Shadowrun pen-and-paper RPG (not the video games).

For pen and paper rpgs back in the day it was all Battletech and all its variations like Mechforce,Aerotech,Citytech and the standard version which used to be called Battledroids before Fasa had to change the name due to it sounding like the droids from Star Wars. I used to go to the colleges and have like two hundred mech work sheets printed out for five dollars back in the 1980s.

I also tried out Napoleon At Waterloo, Car Wars by Steve Jackson, Cyborg Commandos by Gygax, Axis And Allies. Really wanted to get into the whole Warhammer 40k thing but those models were way too expensive not to mention big for the small apartments i've been in most of my life. No way i could leave something like that sitting out for a few days til the next play session.

Overall...probably the Shadowrun pen-and-paper RPG (not the video games).
That one on SNES was quite cool though.
But yeah, the p&p Shadowrun is just really great ... the possibilities are endless, the world allows so much. I have to say though, that I always found the rule-system a bit too complex.
So we ended up playing more Battletech (which offers a great combination of P&P + Tabletop).

My favorite RPG is AToW which is latest version of Battletech roleplaying rules. Tons of fun.
