Your favorite super hero?

Post » Sun May 12, 2013 12:20 am

Usually I'd complain about 'another one of these threads', but I won't complain about another chance to show my love for X-Men. ^_^

There's a bunch of them that I really hate though, especially the Professor and Cyclops. I dislike Angel, Nightcrawler, Iceman and Jean Grey too. My favourites X-Men, and superheroes in general, are Gambit, Rogue and Wolverine. Magneto is perhaps my all-time favourite anti-hero and Sabretooth and Mr Sinister (despite having a crappy name) make for great villains.

That depends on which story arcs you're reading. Over the years he has been both, and even an outright hero in some cases (the Age of Apocalypse series, for instance).

I'd recommend reading some of the newer X-Men stories. Cyclops is becoming basically like Magneto and it's awesome.

:o How can you dislike Nightcrawler? He is all adorable and nice.

The Punisher on PS2 is pretty good. It's a third person shooter that plays a bit like the first Max Payne without the bullet time.

Ha, I'd love to have PS2 just for Jak and Daxter and Spider-Man 2. If I ever find one I'll check that one out too.

To be fair, Squirrel girl just defeated many with her Forbidden Page of secrets. Must be one of those Squirrel blogs.

Seriously, I am always the only guy that says Ghost Rider. Definitely my favorite super hero overall. For DC, its Deathstroke (when he is the anti-hero).

I'd like to, but I'm a little short on funds. ^_^ Cyclops was pretty cool in the Age of Apocalypse series though.

Nightcrawler is a total [censored]. Way too much of a pacifist for me, and I found his whiny insecurity just before he left for Excalibur to be very annoying.

That was a mistake actually. The scene was meant for Hank to looking away from Janet and throwing his hands in the air in "I give up" sort of fashion. But there was a miscommunication between the writer and the artist which couldn't be resolved in time. So a little mistake ruined this really interesting character. (Then the Ultimate universe came out and made everyone unlikable, which meant playing up the "Hank beats up women" problem more.)

I remember him being a bit, unsavory towards the Wasp in some 60's Avengers comics I read like yelling at her and stuff (when he was depressed because he accidentally made himself permanently big). That is an amusing mistake though.

What annoys me the most is how everyone remembers Hank being an abuse but every forgets that Spidey did it once, so did Mr Fantastic. Don't even get me started on Silver Age Superman, the fact Jimmy never killed himself amazes me.

Based on the X-Men movies(I haven't gotten into any of the comics yet :( ). Nightcrawler is awesome, and related to a character that makes me want to rip my hair out when I think of her, Mystique.

I mean really, what the ever-loving [censored] is up with her? I always thought she was just another one of Magneto's [censored]es until I watched X-Men First Class last night, and she was raised alongside Proffesor X himself, and was all around a good person, she goes with Magneto because she wants to make a difference for the better, skip to X-Men and she's a psychotic murderer? Then, X2, and she gets drained of her powers and left for dead by Magneto, who supposedly cared for her so much in the beginning?

I hope I don't get flamed for having no knowledge of the comics, I haven't been into them for long. I just don't understand what they did with the character in the movies.

And this people is why I can't take Marvel seriously...ever....they give you...Squirrel Girl and Rocket Racoon. Seriously, WTF? Whomever came up with both of those characters needs to be beaten to death with a pencil.

I have to say, Superman is every bit as lame as either of those to me. Not to mention Robin and Green Arrow.

I agree Superman is lame, but Robin is cool because he is Batman's protege, and he later becomes Nightwing, the most badass hero.
