Your Khajiit characters

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 9:43 pm

I'm trying to RP my Raksha and i'm curious how do you roleplay your Khajiit characters. Are you trying to add some depth to them, or prefer to play them as plain and simple 'sneaky thieves/assassins'?

If you RP them then what does they do, think and feel?

Hey, not everyone, I actually met NPC in Whiterun who told me that she trusts those Khajiits from caravans. Sure, she wasn't very bright NPC, as she actually explained to Raksha who Khajiits are, but still...

BTW, I actually don't feel that Raksha is hated enough for beeing Khajiit, so I have to use my imagination a lot. I'd love to get some actual troubles with Jarl or others for bringing 4 other Khajiits to Whiterun

My Khajit character is based on a cat I used to have :) I got Chimchim from the shelter and when she came she was scared and would keep lashing out and try to poke out the eyes of anyone who came near her. After a while she calmed down and was a nice pet, but always sort of selfish and sort of anxious. I've had cats that were elegant and beautiful, but not this one. She was scruffy with a sort of calico patchwork coat. I had her for years but finally she got sick and died. :( So I am creating a Khajit in her memory.

I played Onyx as a Khajiit with one goal and that was to get into the underworld of crime. Of course he joined the TG and the rest was history.

actually if you want a good reason to RP a sneaky Khajiit skyrim gives you some good reasons. everyone is racist so maybe you could not cut it making money hoensty? so you had to resort to some less then legal means in order to survive? :)

Also as a PC in skyrim i also feel detached from the rest of the people in the world (obviously they all just live at home and go about daily routine, you adventure) so i tend to connect more with the trade caravans and wandering hunters and fishers, wich in itself feels more Khajiit like to me as your not to welcome in the cities anyway and spend most of your time out in the wild anyway.

but im bias, playing cats sense morrowind.

J'derras seeks to break the negative Khajiit stereotype. He has never stolen*, consumed the sugar, etc. But he does follow my Khajiit tendencies such as reverence for the Moons, liking of sweet foods, and approaching conflicts with a degree of slight underhandedness or cunning. He is stealthy and quick, favors subtle solutions to problems when applicable. Instead of fighting with big weapons, he uses alchemy to make his daggers a bit more "potent." J'derras emphasizes the welcoming and friendly side of the Khajiit, with a side of helpfulness with no strings attached.

*He doesn't consider taking things he finds off of a dead person (such as draugr or found dead bodies) stealing, nor does he consider taking guild supplies stealing. He considers it stealing if it is in someone's pockets or property and they are taken without directly expressed permission.

Thank you for your replies

Newaryon:
That's sweet

LeBurns:
Haha, these are great

BTW, Raksha would recommend Onyx to keep away from thieves and assassins, as most of them are idiots. Raksha is constantly harassed by them, and that was understandable when she traveled alone. But now Raksha travels with three other cats, none of them looking helpless.

And those morons are still trying their luck. Raksha wonders how stupid thief has to be, to openly try to mug pack of 4 cats, all by himself?

Lawlieta:
Raksha actually manages to earn her livings by legal means, and this dragons crisis helped with it. She was a hunter back home, so she is kind of proficient with bow. People find her useful, as she can provide some help with fending off dragons, so most of people in cities at least pretend to treat her somehow seriously.

And since Raksha got her house, it actually started to feel like being kind a normal citizen. Raksha just goes to 'work' with rest of her team, do some 'stuff' people want her to do, and then returns home bringing with her what they earned

faolan_the_hedgehog:
Haha, that's a lot like my Raksha. She too ended up as kind of freelancer, and she tries not to get herself involved in shady business. I think she would get along with J'derras very well. But Raksha likes to work in a team, she is not a loner.

J'derras should visit Raksha and others in Whiterun for some chat, sweetrols and Tsavani's special, 'Elsweyr Fondue'

I only ever played one Khajiit, but he died before I really got to know him. (DID.) If I get around to making another Khajiit I will play him as an outsider who lives off the land and sleeps in the abandoned shacks and caves he can find. The only reason he would go into towns would be to steal and even then he would go in wearing a hood trying to hide his face. I think it would be great if you had to earn the trust of the town before they began to accept you as part of the community, with you being a Khajiit, I think it would really add to the immersion.

I'm basically with Faolan's Idea here, I love Khajiit but cannot find myself under their Thieving nature or Drugs, although Moon sugar I can see possibly because it's not an addiction for Khajiit, Skooma is though.

My Khajiit K'helt is by no means evil, he refuses to Kill anything that's not already trying to kill him, or something that's not doing any injustice to others. So for Roll playing, I have never actually killed a Dear, Fox, or Bunny (besides when a Spriggan got a Dear to attack me)
although I can't get his personality well expressed since there's not as much Racial Prejudice as there should be in Skyrim, I kind of want Nord's throwing their mead bottles at me telling me to get lost as I walk into a Tavern.

awsome and sad at the same time, also explains how Khajiit get their awsome reflexes :)

Play orc. That is all. :D
But really, Khajiit can be fun, if you like sneaking. Though I find they aren't nearly hated enough, they are after all, filthy thieves. :P
It's up to you if you want to have a back-story, I always do for my characters and I don't suppose coming up with one for a Khajiit is harder than any other race.

Im a Necro-Sassin

Bound weapons, raise dead, illusion, sneaking, one handed (no bound daggers)

its really really fun (especially if you main is a normal spellsword)

I've only played a Khajiit once, it was fun. I played a good natured healer. Whom found his joy in exploring and helping any he met on his travels. Didn't go into any main cities, would feel weird xD

Ra'vash is actually a fairly pleasant individual. He's known to take up work and bounties whenever he is able, and he hasn't resorted to thievery or murder in order to get himself some coin. (That's not to say that his path won't take him down a darker path in the future)

I'm playing Ra'vash with a lot of free reign, coupled with inspiration I took from the Khajiit caravans.
He's quick and agile, which goes without saying, though this heavily inspires his combat style. Dual-wielding two swords is a must for close quarters while his bow is the weapon of choice; ideal for seeing that those bounties are fulfilled!
Also, in his attempt to feel a little more at home in Skyrim, he's taken to pulling perks from the Speech tree. Like his kinsman of the trade caravans, he has somewhat of a silver tongue, and he is very good at getting the best deal possible for his wares. (These skills also extend to the people as a few kind words can change someone's view point for a moment or two.)

I'm not sure how he's going to go about the whole Dragonborn thing, but like all good Khajiit. Khajiit do not spend their lives worrying about what might happen, and pondering what will come in the future. They live life by the hour of the day and keep on moving with the tide.
It's great fun!

P.S: I can see him moving toward thievery as the days go on however. A Khajiit can only go so far before getting fed up with the abuse from the locals, not matter how kind you might be to them.

My Dar'Shavir has got to be the least sneaky Khajiit to ever walk the face of Nirn. Heavy armour and unarmed combat all the way - if he can't beat it into submission with his fists, it's not worth talking about. He's a member of the Thieves Guild, sure, but only because he was thin as a rake and desperate for job opportunities when Brynjolf spotted him in Riften. (Those Nords aren't exactly eager to let a filthy, suspicious-looking Khajiit into their hold, nevermind pay the poor kitty to work for them.) Between imminent starvation and a quick and lucrative job, the choice was obvious. Except that one job turned into two and his clumsiness led to him disastrously bungle the second one. Brynjolf's in with Maven was the only thing that got him out from behind bars. Out of the skillet and into the fire: he was now indebted to a criminal association. Whoops. He performs whatever jobs he's given, afraid to refuse for fear of ending up up back in that prison cell. Some nights he considers packing up his things and evading jail time by simply sneaking off and roughing it in the woods, but he's too much of a city cat to leave Riften behind. Ever since his two brothers J'Kier and Ra'kheran lost their lives hunting down a werewolf (yes, I shamelessly appropriated the NPCs from 'Ill Met By Moonlight' for my own purposes), he's felt uncomfortable venturing out into the dangers that lurk outside city walls. It's why he makes a point never to travel at nighttime. He could flee to another hold and try to carve out a niche for himself there, but he's learned from experience that Maven's influence in Skyrim is vast. He definitely doesn't want to provoke such a powerful woman. So, yeah, suffice it to say that he does fit the whole 'untrustworthy thief' stereotype, but only superficially. Perhaps one day he'll work up the courage to break free and live the life of a good, law-abiding citizen. Until then...

Antares. http://steamcommunity.com/id/crunchymoogle/screenshot/651002589568798762?tab=all A werewolf mage. He's supposed to be a min/max werewolf but there isn't much to it. Just need alteration for dragonskin and ebonyflesh spells, a kajiit for the hand-to-hand bonus, and the ring of hircine to transform at will. I'm waiting for any werewolf perk trees or dlc so I actually know what I should spend my perks on. It used to be that werewolves have light armor, and now they're unarmored. What perks work for werewolves? Who knows. It's subject to change so who cares.

One thing I've noticed about my Khajit character is that he does not feel guilty about looking at native nords as food and cattle. I might end up playing him as the ultra uber evil cannibalistic vampire.

Cat people are disgusting.

Cat people... LOL I wonder if they claim they're area by spraying something out of some gross ass gland that probably has to get cleaned on a monthly basis or surgically removed.... LOL

That's exactly how I play Skyrim, minus the "cannibalistic" part. One does not feed on her brethren, especially when they are so few and far between. Men and Mer, however, do quite often find themselves on my plate.
