Your weirdest habits?

I always have to have volume settings on televisions, on radios etc set to multiples of 2 or 5; don't know how I picked it up but I am bugged otherwise.

Whenever I'm alone, I need to look out the peephole on the door every second hour or so. I always imagine a dark figure standing there.

You think the stuff we talk about in the metal thread, that you'd just look at it and give it a death stare.

We'd make good friends! I have a very similar habit. Oof wouldn't like you so much. :P

I don't know if this would be considered a habit; I don't really seem to have any choice in it.

If the day is overcast, I get really sleepy. It doesn't seem to matter what season it is or whether it's actually cold.

Not giving a [censored] in the face of failure or not recognising when I'm stressed.
I run around turning out all the lights because fools here leave them on.
I eat round the outside of any treat that has something inside it, like KitKats/Milkways/Toast/Bountys/Food

I am also a sniffer. One thing I'm weird with is bread at the super market. Whenever I go with other people, they always think I'm mad when I examine the french stick with forensic detail, I need to squeeze them all, (through the paper bag of course) smell them all etc.

I do the same thing, especially with fruit. I gauge ripeness of fruit by smell rather than color or squeeze. Standing there, sniffing over a pile pineapples, people probably think I'm nuts.
The laundry detergent aisle is pretty difficult for me to walk through, actually, because the smells are so overwhelming.

Every time I am about to leave or enter somewhere, I make sure to check my pockets to see if my keys, phone, and wallet are there. I counted once, and I check about 30 times a day.

I do this almost everywhere, I find it normal more than weird, ohh all the times I left my phone in school, all the times I left my bus pass or gloves on the bus, or even all the times I left my money in the house for lunch....wait I did that again today D'OH!

As early as possible in the morning I sift through all of my social networking pages like Facebook, Twitter, etc.. and rid them of notifications. :P

I'm a notification addict, not a Social Networking addict..there is a difference. I'm only addicted to notifications as a result of those social networks, not the social networks themselves. Haha.

I wake up throughout the night, usually between 3 and half 4 to activate my phone because the alarm won't go off otherwise (Its weird like that). But I don't use any alarm to get me up, I just naturally wake up between those times, click the phone and I'm instantly asleep again

When I write code, I'm incredibly obsessive about indentation, lining things up (where it makes sense), and just generally trying to make my code look pretty. If I ever look at some of my programs from the before-time*, I reformat the whole file so it looks pretty. Even if I won't ever look at it again. I'm currently going through one of my assignments from last year. Disgusting...

Also, whenever I use a text-editor I always, *always* press Ctrl+S (or :w if I'm using vim) after I finish typing. Even if I only changed one character. Sometimes that habit spills over to forums, so I often find myself attempting to save webpages. I did twice already just typing this...

*: before-time = the time before I started obsessing about the prettiness of my code.

Before I sit down to breakfast, the kitchen must be clean, my children and husband's clutter and mess from the morning tidied, laundry started, and goals for the day reviewed. Otherwise, I am uneasy, agitated, and cannot eat.

I have no fear of spiders, but I do check my shoes before I put them on, because the highly poisonous brown recluse spiders like hiding in shoes.
I don't like sitting down in resturants with my back to the doors, I must always be able to view the area.

I don't find sniffing produce or handling wrapped foodstuffs odd. Freshness, consistency, and purity of the edible product is of high value. I and my son also sniff prepared foods that are brought to us when dining out.

I used to sit next to a cow-orker who wrote ugly code: random formatting, random tab-stops, random spacing and a profusion of blank lines strewn around randomly. He wasn't a bad coder, just a messy one. Used to drive me nuts since we often worked on the same projects.

I hope I don't work with someone like that after I graduate. I'd waste so much time just trying to make sense of things...

I'd try.

A previous habit I had was to always walk around with a knife in my home. Just in case.

I can't walk on linoleum without shoes or slippers. I also can't get down on the floor and touch it with my hands.

My wife says I'm weird.

I can't walk on or touch linoleum without shoes or slippers. When I say I can't touch it, I mean I can't get down on the floor and touch it with my hands.

My wife says I'm weird.

So you put shoes on your hands?

Are you saying you have to be wearing shoes or slippers in order to be able to touch the linoleum with your hands? That is weird.

No, I'm saying I can't walk on it without shoes or slippers on my feet but I can't touch it with my hands at all.

I edited my original post for clarity. Because the way it was originally written it made me sound like the rain man or something.
