Alien themed DLC ideas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:50 pm

Area 51 or equivalent, despite being the worst kept secret in the world in real life, may not have been known to the chinese. So it could have been survived.

Even if not, the bunkers underneath should have survived.

I agree there could be bunkers underneath that could still be there but it would be alot like the glow. If West Tek and other top secret bases in southern California were known to the chinese and chinese agents were all over DC then I am sure China would have many nukes targeted at the worst kept secret in the world. It still does not mean aliens should be there or enclave or bos. I would like to see smart glowing ghouls.

Aliens don't belong in fallout and defenetly not as a big faction. Aliens in Fallout up till mothership zeta were easter eggs, think of them as "wild wasteland" enounters. If aliens become canon and a future part of fallout then why not Star trek or Godzilla or Dr.Who?! Mothership Zeta has not been called canon yet (I hope).

"War. war never changes, till Aliens Attack!" I fogot who originally said that. Keep doing mothership zeta like content and Fallout will become Fallout Resistance or War of the Worlds. It will no longer be about man it will be about man vs alien

I don't think that the Chinese knew about the Oil Rig, Raven Rock, or Navarro. And I said that it was the worst kept secret in real life, it is not necessarily so in Fallout.

And the difference between Aliens and other easter eggs like Star Trek is that Aliens might actually be real, whereas the others are definitely drawn from fictional sources.
But honestly, how do you know aliens aren't among us right now?
Spoiler

Maybe I'm an alien.

Who am I kidding.
Spoiler
I'm actually a robot.

China did know about the Oil Rig but its a small target and why nuke an Oil Rig that no longer has Oil?. Navarro could have been nothing till Enclave rebuilt it after the war. People knew about Area 51 in the 1950s. My point remains they were easter eggs, does not matter if they are real or not. They took a joke and try to make it apart of Fallout Canon.

Think about it. More Mothership Zeta stuff will turn fallout into War of the Worlds. Unknown numbers with very advanced tech and have been watching the earth for hundreds of years :banghead: Only logical conclusion would to have them taking over in the future. Fallout Universe ends up war of the world or in the middle of an alien civil war. Its just stupid.

The idea that aliens are controlling everything and maybe even started the great war just mess things up so bad. Aliens helping would be even worce. Things would be better then pre-war in no time at all then it really would not be fallout anymore.

But the oil rig wasn't just a rig, it was a military base specifically designed by the enclave to hide out at. Of course the Chinese didn't know that.
For all the chinese knew the Area 51 equivalent (not necessarily the same base!!!) was just an aircraft boneyard or toxic waste dump.

As for navarro, it wasn't rebuilt, just refitted. There was a base there before the war.

And as for aliens being an easter egg? Not anymore. Even before MZ, there was terminal entries and the alien spaceship that were in the vanilla game.
Strictly, every Fallout 3 DLC is canon.
Whether or not you agree with Bethesda's choice, it is what it is. Now, Obsidian seems to be choosing to treat Aliens as easter eggs- that is their choice, and unless Bethesda strong arms them (WHY?) they can continue to do so in any Fallout Games or DLCs they make.

But as this is Bethesda's IP, Aliens are CANON to the fallout series now.

And really though, this idea that it necessarily turns it into war of the worlds is ridiculous hyperbole. With mothership zeta, the threat has been dealt with. A few humans took over an alien mothership and then blew up another one. I don't think they'll be back.

Having one little alien in a stasis tube and an alien blaster rifle in a DLC won't totally change the nature of fallout forever. Slippery slope fallacy does not apply here.

Debating if Area 51 is still there or not is going off topic.

Should there be aliens there or not is the issue. The Aliens space ship before Mothership Zeta can go under easter egg. The Devs have not said its canon. I hope they come out one day and say "yeah it was just an attempt to test the waters and due to it being total crap and completely messes canon and will change fallout for the worce. We desided to write it off as one huge easter egg."

Having more Mothership Zetas you might as well bend Fallout over a table and let FISTO have at it. It will lead to War of the Worlds and take away the whole man rebuilding from our biggest mistakes. "The details are trivial and pointless, the reason as always purely human ones."

I don't want another Mothership Zeta. I think you'll agree to that. All I'm saying is that having an alien or two (dead? In a stasis tube?) or some whizz-bang alien weaponry to use is not going to lead to "War of the Worlds" like you say. That's ridiculous hyperbole and you should be ashamed that you're attempting to argue it.

And mothership zeta never firmly established that the aliens caused the great war, they merely hinted at the possibility (in incompletely implemented content that you could just as easily say was mistakenly put in the game), and it's always been my contention that they did so with the specific intention to troll people like YOU.

Bethesda is laughing at you.

First I would love it if Bethesda was just having a big laugh it would mean it was a joke a bad trolling joke but a joke which I am hoping it is, just one big easter egg.

I agree with you no more Mothership Zetas. As for Alien bodies in a tube sure just as long as it a "Wild Wasteland" thing :D. Weapons as long as there is no clear "this is made by space people."

Actually, I think Wild Wasteland is an excellent compromise and should be in every Fallout game. And yeah, I suggested earlier that aliens not be in the DLCs unless you chose WW

Can peace return to this valley?

Styles, Mothership Zeta showed no intentions of invading Earth. They abducted humans but they never invaded even though they could have. To say that the presence of aliens at all means Fallout will become "War of the Worlds" is absurd.

You may think aliens are ridiculous in Fallout, but there are many other things that can be considered ridiculous by that same kind of attitude, ghouls, for example.

More Mothership Zetas will. Say Area 51 is a large Alien base or we have more Giant motherships then yes it could very well become "War of the Worlds." Why are they here on earth? Why have they been taking people for hundreds of years? What do they want? Questions like the ones I asked have to be explained. Including them changes things. They are very powerful and advanced, good or evil they will mess things up.

Ghouls or super mutants don't have the power to change the wasteland into better then pre-war state or enslave the earth (Not since the master that is).

One of the recordings says otherwise. Granted, that's just a human interpreting the aliens' actions.

We also know the aliens were trying to get nuclear launch codes.

The presence of aliens at all won't lead to that, you're right. But the presence of a large alien presence certainly could.

After playing Dead Money, I think the big empty may be a big, empty, multi-leveled, highly secured, area 51 or at least i hope so. As for aliens EFF 'EM. Maybe a specimen or two in a tank but it should be level after level of securitrons on kill mode, loked doors, and terminals. Each level should be dedicated to a certian area of tech such as level one could be medical r&d, level 2 be stealth r&d , and so on and so forth. as far as having an alien themed DLC i think i would just svck, fallout is about trying to recover that little piece of the old world not outer space.

I've got no problems with Area 51 as a DLC, but as previously stated I have no interest whatsoever in a repeat of the abomination known as Mothership crapola... sorry I couldn't resist :whistling:

Aliens in tubes, fine, I've got no problems with that. Maybe an alien autopsy gone horribly wrong. perhaps something similar to the movie Independence Day, even though that last one is a stretch. But I definitely do not want to go around killing the evil aliens who are here and now they are pissed off. Leave that for Fallout 3.

Say Area 51 is a large Alien base

Area 51 is not an alien base, it is a human military base. The theories were put forward that they captured alien ship wreckage, (living or dead) alien bodies. In an Area 51 DLC there could be as little as a dozen living alien NPCs total! Area 51 would not be the same as Mothership Zeta, because it wouldn't be run by aliens.

I think Wanamingos would make a great DLC antagonist. They were definitely not an easter egg in Fallout 2; they were infesting the mines of one of the main cities.

If you don't know about Wanamingos, they're basically ripoffs from the Alien franchise. They're just different enough to avoid lawsuit. Later in FO2, when they show up as random encounters, they're just called "Aliens."

So we could still have canonical alien content that isn't the annoying little green men from Mothership Zeta.

Really? I didn't know that. You could still find a lot of that sort of alien even after you completed the mines in random encounters. Nevertheless, if they really wanted to, they could bring them back by any number of methods; samples at Area 51 spontaniously regenerating and running amok is only the most obvious method.

I'd rather they not bring back an extinct creature for fan service.

First of all thats your opinion....I happen to like squashing aliens beneath my Remnant Power Armored boot. That being said if you write "worce" one more time instead of "worse" ill have to turn my CZ57 Avenger towards you and open fire! :gun:

Btw everything your saying is off topic this isnt about weather or not aliens or area 51 should be in fallout, but what ideas people would like to see in an alien themed DLC, so please if you would be so kind as to not continue the negative comments we'd all be much abliged. :fallout:
