Alien themed DLC ideas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:43 am

Yeah, It is a great suggestion, but people are real whiner babies about starting a new game.

It's got everything to do with WW, Not everybody likes [censored] aliens in fallout.
If there is Area 51, you'd better get ready for a shocker, but they will almost certainly make it an easter egg, a very small one if it is'nt a WW thing, if it is it will probably be an encounter,

It's not a difficult concept.

Um, why do you want to be a "Wild Wasteland experience"? Downloading a DLC is optional. Nobody forced you to play Mothership Zeta. Sorry but aliens have already been established to exist. You can't say they can't do alien themed DLCs again now.

It's a dumb suggestion. Start a new character and play another 60 hours to level up just to see aliens in the location that's been inextricably connected with aliens for 60+ years.

I don't know how I even got involved in this argument. All I wanted to see was some alien cadavers and maybe some in stasis. You two enjoy your mutual love in. This isn't worth my time.

It's their fault for not taking WW then, deal with it.

Bethesda has not said any of the DLCs are canon, much less mothership zeta. I am not debating them being canon, just saying no more of it. Stop bring them in to Fallout where they don't belong IMO. WW is ok.

So you're saying you will only make a few characters for New Vegas? Or just stick with the one you have for all time?

I hope there's a DLC chock full of aliens. Just for you, sweetie.

Then, when the inevitable sturm und drang starts, I just get to say "Deal with it".

So let me get this straight the 3 of you want aliens to be a WW encounter only. (or never seen in the fallout games again....)

And alot of other people want to see aliens to some degree or another.

Weightaholic seems to be the only person whos trying to pass common sense along. Area 51 = Aliens period.
How would a DLC geared around area 51 work without aliens? It wont. Having a DLC that evolves around the WW perk is ridiculous they'd lose money, who in their right mind would buy a DLC evolving around a perk?

I am sure the Devs can think of many things for Area 51 other then it being full of aliens. We don't want the whole DLC to be one big WW encounter just any mention of aliens.

I don't think you understand, Aliens as a minor enemy in the DLC appearing ONLY in WW, but possibly appearing in test tubes outside of it, I don't care if they make it into the future games AS LONG as they are minor, or as easter eggs.

And as I keep saying, what is Area 51 most commonly associated with?

Do none of you get this. It's not about your personal desires. I don't want another MZ myself, but Area 51 is about aliens. It always has been. That's the whole mystique about having an Area 51 DLC. Even in this thread... alien DLC = Area 51. You can't divorce the two, and just shuffle the aliens into WW. Look in all the Area 51 threads that have cropped up here, and inevitably... aliens, no?

I already have 3. It still doesn't make the "start a new character suggestion" a good one. The average member of this forum isn't your average gamer who's picked this up, played through it once, hasn't chosen WW, and feels cheated because there's not even an alien cadaver.

maks no sense its area 51, i understand that you dont want to see aliens other then with WW. It would be mind boggling not to think about aliens being one of the main features in a DLC involving area 51. Oh wait i get it, it was killer clowns from another world that crash landed and the governments trying to hide them in area 51....(insert sarcasm here) I just dont understand how u can think of anything else being heavily involved with area 51 other then aliens.

Can I ask you a personal question... how old are you? Seriously. Not meaning to be disparaging, but I get the feeling that I'm a fair bit older than most of the people on this board, and my perspective on this is probably coloured a little differently by that.

Area 51, especially in the mid part of this century, was the center of a whole raft of "UFO" and CT mythology.

Area 51 only has one hanger associated with Aliens thats it one. Other then that its best known for making top secret aircraft. So the play could have top secret tech there. I am hoping it was nuked to hell like West Tek.

There is an Alien Space ship WW encounter. If the person is only going to make one character or a few why make a whole DLC that caters to them, just so they can see aliens? If they are true fans they will make many characters.

Area 51 is the Big Empty (My speculation) which would mean it is Machines. MACHINES.

also Killer Clowns from outspace was a movie, a really bad movie.
I can see machines, an old vault, Hubologists, alot of things being with A51 but not dang aliens.

I do not give a giant rat's ass what is or isn't canon. Fallout is not a religion, it's a video game series. And your proposal is to make alien themed DLCs available only to those who choose the Wild Wasteland trait. As if the fact that it involves aliens somehow means that people who didn't choose that trait should be shut off from it. No, the DLC should be open to all. There is no chance of the game developers ever doing such a thing, and if they do, they will get the backlash they deserve.

Damn. I've been playing RPGs longer than you've been alive. How very depressing. :sadvaultboy:

Look, when I was a kid, Area 51 was all about the aliens. I mean heavily. There were TV shows about it, movies at the time contained references to it. It's hard to explain, but it's one of those things that, despite the truth or not to the claims, has become part of the psyche. I grew up with it, was almost saturated with it... it's part of my generation. Maybe to people now it IS just an AFB, like Styles said, but there's an awful lot of us out there, in the back of our minds, like I said, truth or not, there's aliens there!

Now do you see why I am so insistent? :)

"Seeing aliens" is not the point...
A DLC with actual quests and story to it is better than some random encounter with a few hostile aliens in the wasteland.

Why make a whole DLC (Dead Money) that caters to people who like old casinos? These arguments of yours are getting more and more silly.

This is why you won't get a DLC like this, It does'nt matter if you don't care for it, alot of us hardcoe fans do.

Yes, a video game series that has Canon.

We are not saying that the DLC should be exclusive, only that the ALIENS would be exclusive to Wild Wasteland, Area 51 would be filled with Machines, DLC's don't revolve around an enemy, they revolve around plot, and canon.

No, the DLC should be open to all. There is no chance of the game developers ever doing such a thing, and if they do, they will get the backlash they deserve.

It would be open to all, Aliens would be WW only though, the rest of 51 would be Machines. This is most likely the route they will take, and I would expect to hear some complaints about it from you.

I have not played Dead money I have PC but I hear its has alot more to do then enjoying an old casino.

I am not saying Area 51 should only be so people can see a few alien WW encounters. It can be about anything else just don't have aliens that arn't apart of a WW encounter. :disguise:
