Anyone feel that its a little too dense?

I would've appreciated more wilderness. The casual gamer would not.
because adding forgettable valley 1-20 to the game would add so much to gameplay

He doesn't feel that Skyrim is for the real TES player, the RPG fan. He's on a level most of us hope one day to comprehend

The bloody compass...... that radar which holds you by the hand so you do not miss ANY POI even if you have not actually seen it or found it yourself.....

I have played/beaten ES 3-5 and invested hundreds of hours into them so if I am a casual gamer than Morrowind must be a casual game

Oh, right...

Because the barren icy tundra to the north, and the hot springs to south don't have names for them.

So they're totally redundant and all content held within is rendered pointless and rushed because somehow 'casual' gamers and console gamers got together and slept with your daughter while you were out working the farm in TES Daggerfall/Morrowind.

yeh I hate those [censored] casuals making the game have better graphics more voice actors and better combat
Fancy graphics ftw

Point about casuals or people who don't care about actual rpg elements in an rpg game proven yet?

Yes, this forum doesn't have common sense.

I don't so much mind the density, but sometimes I can't help but question the logic behind putting certain locations so close together. Like, for instance, having bandit forts a stone's throw away from major holds. There's one by Falkreath that you can see from the bloody gate! I know the guards in this game are ludicrously unqualified, but wouldn't they have at least dealt with these outlaws camped right outside their town? I don't see how they could just ignore that blatant threat. Or how Dawnstar's populace is oblivious to the fact that there's an evil-looking blood-stained door parked meters away from their homes. It'd be alright if the NPCs in both cases at least acknowledged this - "Those bandits right outside the hold are making me nervous," or "I wonder where that creepy door leads? Nevermind, I don't want to know," - but they don't.

Oblivion had this issue as well, you can't walk ten feet without bumping into an ancient ruin filled with magical artifacts. Its just the nature of these games and nothing worth complaining about.

Oh what pure bloody nonsense- 'casuals making pretty graphics mean more than X Y or Z'

If I'm not looking at a thread about how Skyrim is dumbed down, I'm looking at one in which the graphics are bashed. Stop this madness. It's well established that the graphics in Skyrim are not cutting edge, so it escapes me how its possible for so many people to rationalize the 'pretty graphics made things worse becsaue of this or that'.

I don't mind legit complaints- broken quests, phsyics glitches, bad UI for PC, etc, but this other stuff is bunk

This thread is just people insulting each other now, pointless. The original point was moot, now its just a petty argument, everyone has a massive ego on a games forum.

None said that graphics undermine other aspects. But if the audience Skyrim has recently accumulated values them more than actual rpg elements what do you think will happen? TES will gravitate towards the things that will please them. Companies adapt to their customers.

Didn't say that, i don't know you well enough but from what you said you just seem to consider them more important.

What people mean though is that the game gravitated towards good graphics/world design and did not pay enough attention to actual rpg elements. It's not like people dislike good graphics. It's just that they should be secondary.

Don't get me wrong i like the amount of content, but at any one time i can see atleast three dungeons on my compass and usually theres a POI somewhere close too. Its hard for me to go anywhere without getting sidetracked because of this.
I think it should be just a bit more spread out.

There are two things I would like to see added or "fixed" with this game.

1) a patch, dlc or giant mod that somehow fixes the depth to the world. (gives it depth, economy, completing quests having impact on the world, etc)
2 a patch, dlc or giant mod that makes the Skyrim bigger. Like scales things up, a lot. Lets say, ten times. That would give you more wilderness and farmland between crypts, dragon nests, and other locations.

Thats the point. Just knowing that there is that much content and the vast majority of it is unique makes me appreciate this game so much more.

Yes. Skyrim as much content, but as far as locations in the gameworld, they are too packed. Too dense. I do not want lesser locations, I just wanted more wilderness to make space in between.

When I walk by foot in Skyrim, I dont really feel like im traveling. I dont really feel "lost" or away from civiizations. Forrests are too small and the gameworld should have been bigger.
