Apply to be in the Dawnguard 360 Beta

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:37 am

Why do people think it's unfair or nonsensical that X-Box owners, who'll be getting the DLC first, get to have a beta?

im guessing that you haven't had to wait for a month or 5 or even a year for Bethesda dlc

Of course I will test it, that is what the beta is for. Don't worry PC/PS3 players we are on it!

Faith in humanity restored. I thank you, for you are the only one who really understands what Beta is about.

Indeed, it is good there are actually testers here than people only getting the beta just to play it early.

Dont get me wrong, I was like that too in my noob days :D

The character questions really put into perspective just how much time I put into Skyrim... Almost 350 hours split between 3 characters. I really should have named my first one "Bug-finder" because I swear that Khajiit could find every glitch in the game, good or bad.

Dawnguard is going to be so awesome, I can't wait!

Downside about the beta for the 360 owners, I have to avoid the forums for any spoilers D:
I have to avoid the forum until the GOTY is released.

Thank you. Im PC but I am hoping the 360 owners actually test it rather than only signing up because to some it is a "demo" rather than beta testing.

What? We're getting the DLC first...of course we'd get a beta first. You're assuming that they won't do something similar for PS3 and PC owners (obviously it can't be a beta, as the DLC would be out, but they could always give away a few copies).

no not necessarily you could just get the dlc and that could be the test run...

Now we play the waiting game. I wish I could put more than 3 characters down, in the end I just went for my main Stealth, magic and warrior characters. All decently high levelled.

Oh, important question, how will e send bug reports etc? E-mail?

I'm assuming that they'll set up an E-Mail account for us to send the reports to. Maybe they'll just make an account with some incredibly obscure name we all just PM the reports to.

I think it's really good that 360 players get to beta test Dawnguard (I used to play Xbox until 2 years ago, I now play PC) I just hope that everyone is very mature about the testing and takes the time to test it.

Depends on the quality of the tester's feedback. I find the idea of any single platform beta's odd to be honest; problems that show up on one format, may not show up on others (PS3 lag being a good example). There's no guarantee that this beta process will result in bug-free launches on the other formats, or even on the Xbox itself, so it seems somewhat pointless to me. I'm guessing it's really just for publicity, which is fair enough.

The PC has been getting patch beta's for a while now, and I thought that was odd too, before anyone accuses me of prejudice.
