"Apply to be in the Dawnguard 360 Beta" #2

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:16 am

filled it out. Not expecting to get a chance at the beta but oh well. haha

Well, if you want in the Beta super bad, I'm almost positive there will be Beta codes for sale by people who signed up for no other reason than to engage in a little profiteering. These are the people who also make 300 Email Addresses and 300 Accounts to increase the probability by saturation.

I have a question. This is the first time I have ever signed up for a Beta so this is all new to me. When I signed up for the beta it had to list up to three characters (I put down two) my question is. If I do get selected to participate in the beta will I only be able to use the characters I listed in the sign up or will I be able to use any of my characters even one of my new ones? I was planing of making a Wood Elf Assassin so that is why I'm asking.
I think they were just rtyingt to get a handle on your playstyle and what you have done in game, or else they would have asked you "do you still have x, y, and z?"

Not sure exactly how this will be a beta test on the xbox, it's not an online game. What do they stand to gain from letting a few of us play it early? If we can't talk about it and post our problems on the forums, how are they going to improve the DLC for the major release?

I think they will most likely start a forum specifically for the Beta testers so they will be able to post the problems that they have found. And it will most likely be locked out to the rest of the public, so that way only the beta testers will be able to enter.

That's a possibility because having an account here was one of the requirements for the beta application.

This dlc was made for me. I play as a vampire, always use bows and stealth and would screw over my game world to be able to walk in the day with no penalties as a vampire. On a somewhat related note do you think the dlc will come out on a disk?

Signed... and signed!

Based on the questions, it looks like they want to see if the new features included in Dawnguard have any effect on the Main or Guild quests. Also, if vanilla vampirism conflicts with the new one. There was also a question about Werewolves, so either their testing cross compatibility with the new vampires or ... there may be werewolf content.

Edit: as a note, Bethesda likely chose to the account requirement in order to get an idea of what their most loyal customers think. If I'm selected, feel free to forward your ideas, and I'll try to condense them down and offer them up.

It will be like the beta for the patches with a closed forum for the testers to discuss and point out problems to the devs.

I see, I've never beta tested a patch on PC before. Only played the PC version at a friends house a few times.

Yeah, when 1.5 came out (I think it was) there was a beta version. There was a separate forum created where the testers could basically tell the devs about any glitches.

Gstaff said that there is no plan as of yet to make dlc discs for Dawnguard.

I like that, I hope I get invited to help them fix up the expansion.

Have you found a way that you'll be able to get Dawnguard yet? If not what you could do if your friends have an xbox and internet connection is take round your hardrive and download it onto that.

I wonder how many people entered. Hope it wasn't too many. Especially after seeing these laymen everywhere. There is a negative side to betas however, whhich is that they may ruin your save in a way Bethesda hadn't forseen. At least that was the warning they gave for the 1.5 beta.
