I have had 3 characters 2 of which have joined the stormcloaks until it hit me that they were similar to the Nazis in many ways
They blame the Empire for the treaty with the Thalmor (November criminals)
They believe Skyrim is for the Nords
They are rather racist
They are obsessed with Talos

Not to the same extend no, but they are racist and the first chance they got they'd probably push out the other races of Skyrim.

I raised this question before. It got locked.

But yes I do believe so because there are a vast number of similarities. Hitler started off as a would be hero, just like Ulfric, then he went mad.

They believe Skyrim is for the Nords - Yes well, you can wonder what they mean with it. But some things to think about:
1. They do not want to exterminate the other races.
2. They do not consider their race surperior, not do they want to control the world.
They are rather racist - I suppose they are, mainly toward elves, and they had this attitude in Morrowind as well.
They are obsessed with Talos - It is their god, they fight for their right to worship him, they can worship the other gods under the empire, but not Talos. That is probably why they focus on him.

If the Stormcloaks are racist I guess so are the imperials.

He tells you he's afraid to enter Solitude by himself.(If the other mill worker dies, he becomes even more terrified that he'll now be forced to enter the city alone) Ahtar the headsmen says Torygg would've never let a filthy argonian like Ja-ree into the city.


The only apt nazi comparison is with the Thalmor, and even then not so much.

Also keep in mind that they are the Stormcloaks, and Hitler had his Stormtroopers

I might have been a bit paranoid but I had seen a few shows on the rise of Hitler so I might have just came up with this and it all could be in my head.

No, the Stormcloaks are not like the Nazis.
A few points I think prove that:

They do not seek to expand beyond their homeland and enslave the world under the Nords, they only want to liberate their homeland.
They are not after ethnic cleansing(where do people get that idea? I find no evidense for it in the game)
Windhelm is the only city with so called segregation, but that is only because that part of the city was given to the Dunmer almost 200 years ago IIRC.

Sure, they are nationalistic and pro-nord, but Nazis? No, the Thalmor have some similarities to the Nazis, but neither the Empire or the Stormcloaks do.

Also remember, both "Imperial" and "Nazi" contain the letter "i".

I dont really view them as being Nazi like nor do I view them as being racists, racially insensitive perhaps but then so are the Imperials. The Thalmor are the most Nazi like people in the game.

They're more like the right-wing militias that blames the 'feds for everything.

I just want to add that sure, they have a couple of idiots like Rolff Stone-Fist among their supporters, but in general, they aren't any worse than most other Nords. Than most other races, in fact. Most races in Tamriel seem to be pretty racist against the others, Dunmer and Altmer being far worse than Nords, IMO.

I was watching a Hitler special when I stumbled upon this, so if we all watch Hitler specials and keep Ulfric in mind, maybe well all agree

You can draw very vague similarities to any group that hates someone or is occupying someone. This doesn't create a link to nazism. Nazis came into power due to a low point in the German economy (does not apply). The nazis began spreading hate propaganda blaming a group of people for the failure in the first war, saying many awful things (does not apply). The nazis then started to move a group of people out of their homes and into camps (does not apply). Then they realized they could not feed and take care of their own people plus those in camps so they came around to the final solution (does not apply).

I see connection at all. Yes, the Stormcloaks hate people in their country. Yes, the Thalmor are occupying another country... so did the English.
