Are there any games which could potentially beat skyrim? : Othor Games

this year has an unusually large number of great games being released. Deus EX Human Resources, Witcher 2, NOT Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3 etc. besides minecraft are their any games being released this year that could potentially replace skyrim as your first pick?

for me so far there is pretty much just Deus Ex.

not talking about sales figures just your personal preference for games.

I really can't see what people like in the witcher series, the first mostly seemed like "Ye old Swinger" due to the fact the main point in the game was just to get lucky with all the ladies and kill some generic badies.

nope, the only possible thing that could steer some of my attention away from Skyrim would be if Diablo 3 had a 2011 release date, but even then, Skyrim would still be my #1 game to get.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a close competitor for my attentions.
Also, looks like Black Mesa is finally heading for release. If that ends up being at the end of this year, too, I might need some sort of wormhole in order to play all these games at once.

Personal opinion : nothing else will come close, unless a miracle happens and they announce that ME3 will see a return to the first installments skills system and equipment modding.

With Mass Effect 3 now delayed to 2012... nothing will come close to Skyrim this year. By a long shot.

Skyrim and Battlefield 3 are my most anticipated games ill probably buy them at the same time, though i will play skyrim first.

Minecraft and Skyrim are two different games designed for two different markets. They will both be successful. None more than the other.

While Skyrim is definitely on my top 5 for the year, it is actually pretty low on the list. My biggest game this year is actually Deus Ex. Aside from that, I am awaiting both the Witcher 2 and Rage a bit more. Skyrim falls just before Battle Field 3. So yeah, for me there is a couple.

How is Minecraft a possible competitor to Skyrim? It's Skyrim for goodness' sake. Nothing comes close.
