I play computer games like a fiend and I have a job where I work on computers. So yes, I am very happy with my life at the moment.

OT: I play on my spare time, I kinda have to worry about school right now. :sadvaultboy:
But yes, I'm pretty happy with my lifestyle. I love myself. :touched:

I hate that when I turn my games off I can hear the siblings and parents voices :P
I ain't no nerd though, I just play games to pass the time that's not being better spent elsewhere. ;)

My life is as it is. I am content for the most part. Even if I had somehow never found video games, my life probably wouldn't be much different. Like somehow not having this as a hobby is instantly going to make me Brad Pitt...

Just because I play video games doesn't mean I don't live a socially enriched life.. :shakehead:

Eh, I don't have anything against the games I play or what they've done to me, and I certainly don't wish I was more sociable than I am. The only thing I'd like now is a decent low profile job, but that's too much to ask for in the New American Dream so I'm content to be NEET for the time being until I go back to school in the spring.

I'm always happy though. It's hard not to be when you draw happiness from solitude like an unending http://www.hongfire.com/cg/data/25/caramelldansen.swf. Also when you content yourself with simple hobbies like Anime and drinking tea. ^_^

I know many people here are for lack of a better word nerds. So my question to all of you is : are you happy with the lifestyle you live? Would you rather have not found a love for video games and lived a more social people orientated life? Or is this the life you chose for yourself instead of just falling into it ?

Not to be mean or anything, but are you somehow posting from, like, 1996 or something? When the common thinking seemed to be that the only people that were into this new fangled world wide web thingy and games and comics and such were isolated people, mostly male, with white tape holding their glasses together. Come. Join us in the present. It's cool.

Why on earth would someone in this day and age assume that just because someone enjoys games and gaming go with a silly stereotype anyway? The people I happen to know who game a lot and are knowledgeable about gaming also have a wealth of other interests, that they enjoy doing. Such a variety, that I can always find something to do if I am so inclined, since they are also generous about invites and making sure information gets out on things that are going on around our area.

I honestly would much rather spend 60 bucks on a game that i could spend the next several weeks/months playing and enjoying in my free time than going out to the bar and spending 5 bucks a drink to hang around people that i need to become drunk to stand to be around.

I really cant stand how dumb people generally are and everyone seems to be completely oblivious to it, and i have little patience for idiots. I used to do door to door sales and was really good at it (but walking outside all day in the winter in a suit i cannot stand) so my social skills are as good as anyone else, but maybe as a side effect of it i am painfully aware of people that are moving through life at half speed.

I'm rather disappointed that my lifestyle doesn't include more cake, but I make do.

It's a love hate thing, some days your lonely and want to be the social guy at the bar or club, then sometimes I sit on my butt and I'm like no school or job just chillin playing games, livin life free, gotta love it

Or maybe your foot in the door was just that, a foot in the door, and not the entire life story or understanding of one particular individual's life.

I wish I had a girlfriend to share my life with then I'd be a little bit more happy but I guess I have to settle for being content with what I have  .

I've gotta multitask like crazy, otherwise there isn't enough time in the day to do everything I wanna do and still have a social life. But I manage to pull it off and I'm happy enough. :)

No, not really. My life seems to revolve around academics.

Someone please tell me it gets better in college.

I'm about to head back to college and all I can really tell you is that it gets better if you put the effort into it. Granted, that might be easier at larger colleges with more people, but it pretty much holds true wherever you end up studying.

Study groups. That is all.

I'm in my third year of university, cruising through doing well while also putting in hundreds of hours to gaming. Oh, and getting paid to do both these things.

Yeah, I'd say my lifestyle is pretty damn awesome.

Nah. I like who I am and I'm grateful for the interests/hobbies I have, but I hate what I'm doing and have no idea what to do with my life.

Could be a heck of a lot worse though, so you won't often see me complaining.
