so basically, we're all [censored] past 70 hours?

Almost at 70 hours, autosaves have always been enabled, and I reflexively hit my quicksave key before rounding every corner in a dungeon, or every few minutes outdoors. Haven't noticed and slowdowns, glitches, or CTDs as a result. I got a few CTDs when that patch was released and disabled the LAA fix, but after downloading the mod to fix that everything's been smooth-sailing again.

I thought this was just a PS3 issue?

91 hours on 1 character using 5-6 save files, autos and frequent quick saves, and no major issues. Save files are 11mb each. Some graphics glitches but very few CTD's.

Unknown amount of hours but it's a huge number, only 805mb worth of saves again because I backed up the previous 1.4gig worth and deleted them out to prevent issues with "number" of saves some see.

Since I did experience a few glitches now and then, such as a CTD while entering somewhere or at the moment of hitting quick-save, I've been in the habit of using the console to save for quite some time now.

Plus, more useful having named saves to help go back and redo or undo something if a game breaker / quest related shows up.

SaveGame AboutToHelpBlah
SaveGame BugTest
SaveGame WhatEver

in the console. After just a little while it becomes very effecient and fast to do, much faster than using the gimped UI, plus up-arrow (good ol DosKey behavior) to get last command, append a number, enter, done.

Only have 1 character atm.

Edited:
Removed hr number since it was a guess, but it's a giant number for sure.

I'm at 114 hours and i get CTDs and texture glitches a lot more than before... Is it really because of the saves...? I use 3 manual saves, 3 autosaves + 1 quicksave... I wouldn't take away the quicksave option because i save a lot... But i'll disable autosaves then.

108 hours in - Autosave on travel only (in case I run into any quest or location bugs), but I make religious use of quicksave/quickload.

My savegames started at 3.3mb for the very start of the game, and are now 14.5mb. No issues since I started using the 4GB loader - although some rendering bugs appear after extended play or too many alt-tabs. I'll try the savegame deletion method, see if that helps since I do a manual save before quitting every time.

It's what I'd heard, but it sounds like you know more about it than I do. I just know that using auto and quicksaves seems to have caused problems in Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, and FO:NV; in each case once I disabled 'em I got fewer crashes.
I know a lot of people had problems with auto and quick saves in Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, and FO:NV but I never have had any real issues with them in any of those games. I started playing Morrowind in late 2002 and have played a fair amount of Oblivion and FO3. Haven't managed to get around to playing much of FO:NV yet, it's on my list of games to play! ;) Anyway, one of the things I've learnt over the years is that not everyone has the same problems with these games and that there are some very usefull utilities available to help smooth your playing experience! It's early days for Skyrim, but at least Bethesda have finally taken notice of player's complaints regarding the save game system and have made improvements to help prevent some of the problems players experienced in previous games.

I don't have any major CTDs. Had like 3 for 115 hours. I don't load quick saves and auto saves, but they are still there. Have like 9 manual saves that I over write all the time.

The problem is that my saves are getting bigger and bigger, now they are 15 MBs. Seems to me the game is more sluggish. Probably I am loosing frame rates. The char was like jumping on every step. Restarted the game and it is ok now, but still I think it doesn't play like before.

If this is true that the game is getting more unstable and laggy with save file getting bigger is a real game breaker. This should be patched and fixed or bye bye players dreams for 300+ hours.

Or at least devs should tell us what to do to not make those files bigger, like not stocking up on items in the chests or anything else.

I can remember the game STALKER Clear Sky, it used to have a game breaking bug about crashing and ruining your save file after some time, because of so many stashed items and loot in the world chests. They fixed it thou.
