I've been having fun in LAV and tanks and have unlocked a few nice things like zoom. I play Back to Karkand almost exclusively now so no aircraft, but man I still tend to get hit by invisible RPGs and I'm almost always the unlucky one that hits with javelin + SOFLAM when nobody ever uses them when I'm not using a vehicle. Seriously.

Oh something else I noticed which is odd: My MAV can destroy enemy equipment by pressing fire. Enemy MAVs I lock on to and fire, and others I just fire at. There's no bullets, no missile, it just gets destroyed. I see no mention of that ability anywhere.
That is one of the MAV's features, its been like that since I unlocked it.

Also put smoke screen on if you have problems with javelins.

I don't know much about Battlefield 3, how does it stack up compared to BF2 and BF:BC 1&2?

It is more like Battlefield 2 than Bad Company 1/2.

I use smoke screen, it helps for it's duration. What bugs me is the only time I see anyone ever use javelins is when I decide to drive a tank or LAV :) You know how many times I've gone out of my way to SOFLAM only to have no teammates ever use javelins?

I don't like the idea of having to buy an online pass to play.

Nice! xD

Reminds me of the metro match when I got all those revives. I just kept jumping around grenades and gunfire while reviving people.:P

I really need to get a new mic though, didn't know mine sounded that bad.

What mic do you use Spanky?

I use an old Logitech H530. The only thing bad with it is that it's super sensitive, though maybe they've fixed that in the newer models. Mine is like 4 or 5 years old.

Hmm? Console thing I guess? I thought online console play was automatic.

It's an anti-used game thing. Online pass codes are one use only.

At least that's what I assume. I don't own the game after all.

They didn't have it on day 1, so it may be something new.

Damn, I just realized how buffed out the M16A3 and M4A1 is. I played a little bit of engie and used the A1 with a suppressor for the recoil reduction; that thing has almost no recoil!

I stole an assault's class to revive him, but kept the class, since he had an M16 suppressed, ( ) and got about three combat efficiency ribbons in one go.

I hate the M4A1 for some unknown reason, my preference is the SG553, as for assault I like the M16A3 somewhat, but prefer the M416, followed by the F2000.

So i rented a server yesterday its called " Beginner Server " i tryed too figure out what defines the term beginner and i thought everyone who,s not carying a "Eagle Badge" is considered a beginner if you have an Eagle Badge that means your above level 45 .

So this morning i saw my server was actually in use i thought wow thats cool there where a few players Low rank players and it was pretty fun you know evryone fooling around in jets and helli,s the real Noob Stuff :) .

Altrou the day i saw more players above level 50 who where pretty advance in flying jets and helli,s and the fun was going down its just no fun if you take off in a jet and imediatly get shot down.

So heres what i do my server send a message at the beginning of a new map that reads " This is a beginner Server anybody who,s carying an Eagle Badge is considered NO beginner and thus Not welcome" i mean its no fun too do this but how would i otherwise try too mannage my server and make it a cool place for starters ?

Its a real pitty that in the server mannagement is NO level Cap ajustment that would have made things alot easyer well ill get back too my server over an hour and any Eagle that catches my eye gets a instand ban so they cant return its not cool but there are over an 100+ servers too chose from so its best for them too move on

its a real dillema for me

Is anyone else a huge fan of the AEK? It has perfect close range capabilities as well as great accuracy at further distances.

I hope you can get that worked out. Are you on console or PC? Maybe there are some scripts you can find online that you can implement server side to reject anyone over a certain level.

I've been killed by the AEK a lot, so it seems like a good weapon. I like the Scar, myself. I've grown fond of the ACOG, though the kick is a bit much. Definitely 3 round bursts or switch to semi-auto for longer distances.

Well here's the problem: I'm not really a beginner (sergeant major) but have close to zero experience in jets and helicopters. Unlike Battlefield 2 I have no real way to practice. I could very well be level 45 and still have little experience with some of the vehicles.

What's needed is a server where people can practice vehicles, since most aren't available in single player and you can't launch your own server for practice.

First thanks for your reply,s SpankyTheElf and Holycannoli , im on ps3 .

I understand that a Lvl 45 soldier can also be a beginner in flying jets and helly,s when i wrote my post i hadnt think of that before .
I dont have the server anymore because i rented it for 1 day :) but i was considering too rent it for longer but the way i wanted too run my server was just too complicated but it could be a nice idea in the end.

Infact if i rent a server i can train with jets and helly,s the only thing you dont have is moving targets and im probably the only one in the game .

But i must confess that the best way too get combat experience is if you play regular matches thats for sure .

--------

on i sidenote i played on a server who where called "The Brotherhood of Steel" i thought that was cool name for a Clan :)

Slowly getting back into BF3 again and quickly realizing why I stopped playing in the first place. But that'll be fixed soon. I just ordered a new motherboard and CPU. I believe that my poor little Athalon just can't handle BF3. I should have my shiny new i5-2500K by Friday.

You'll love it. So much power.

I have one running at 3.7GHz and nothing has ever maxed any of the cores. I think the highest I've gotten the total CPU usage up to was somewhere in the 80% range.

If you want training with Choppa's or Jets, try searching for a Conquest game of Gulf of Oman with less then four people in it.
Thats what I did. Get to practice flying, dodging and Dogfighting.

I'm considering trying hardcoe mode, since it seems closer to (but not quite) the kind of game I want BF3 to be - no stupid kill cams, no 3D spotting, bullets do a lot more damage, friendly fire is enabled, no automatically regenerating health or repairing vehicles etc.

What svcks is I want a server where kill cam is disabled and maybe a few others as well, but maybe friendly fire is still disabled and there's still 3D spotting (because determining friend from foe on a computer monitor is not that easy). I can't find any servers like that even though it's possible to set one up.

New weapons I saw were:

MTAR-21
SPAS-12
JNG-90
AUG A3
ACW-R (Bushmaster ACR?)
L86A1 (lmg version)

And supposedly the CZ75 will be in it and I heard the SCAR-L will be in it.
