Bethesda kills off a series

Aside from a handful of technical issues, the game is exactly as advertised. I love it and I knew I would love it based on what I had seen. What's your point?

Coudl you tell me how did they advertise it?

Shivering Isles was fantastic.... buy it now, for the love of god buy it now. Easily 30 hours extra content for most players, I got about 50 and I still haven't done all the quests :hehe:

It's not that simple unfortunately, I already tossed away my money for the ps3 version with Knights of the Nine, and each time I think about buying the GOTY Oblivion or other new game, new game prevails on account that I'd basically be buying an expansion pack for a price of a full game otherwise. :(

Hi, after playing for 50 hrs, I have to say, Bethesda you have lost your touch. I usually average 100 + hrs from an elder scroll game, but this game is nothing like the previous versions. I play as a mage and the entire mage thing is dead. No creating spells, no fly, no 1st person for horse riding. The list goes on and on but everyone already knows the list. The game feels rushed. The lack of updates proves Bethesda is spread too thin. The love is gone from the series. Consequently, this is the last time I buy one of your games. Bethesda you've lost a long time fan.

I felt like I was playing Dark Messiah and that is not a good thing.

Goodbye.

Cool, cya, bye!

Mages are extremely powerful.. .. You just need to keep grabbing those new spells as they come available. Obviously if your mid level and still using the novice spells your going to be having a bit of trouble. Enchant some mage robes and jewelry, make some potions, upgrade your spells and you can walk through just about anything. Wall of flame/frost/lighting, bound sword, a summoned atronoch plus a well placed shout of your choice = dancing around deathlords.

Goodbye.

Really? Have you really played other TES games?

When has Bethesda EVER updated a game. Small patches that fix bugs...yes. Updates or changes in mechanics no. Ever.

Bethesda made the game they wanted. One either likes it or they don't. Bethesda is not going to change how the game works just for a few complainers.

By visiting the main website and read about the game, reviews and previews, gameplay demos, etc.

:violin:

to big of a violin...

and really OP, go cry me a river, i'm sick of people hating on Bethesda, i'd LOVE to see you make half as good of a game as this in 5 years, no wait, i'd give you 10 years to make one a quarter as good. You think that just because of 1 person, one person out of 10 million copy's and growing, that Bethesda will shed a single tear? heck no, they will keep making games for people who care about what they make. if you want games like you described, then go play morrowind and oblivion and stop complaining!

Bethesda lost a long time fan that just joined the forums today to post this....... smells like bait

I highly doubt that. I have been playing TES since Daggerfall and have not joined the forum until almost a year ago, he could be a longtime forum lurker like many others. There is only a fraction of the people viewing this forum that actually bothers posting or signing up.

@OP Yes Skyrim has some flaws and the mage gameplay is one of them, not a huge deal for me personally as I like fighters and thieves more. But if the mage is your favorite class then your frustration is understandable, cutting features like spellmaking was a mistake for sure.
I would recommend to try out a archer or warrior instead, the gameplay and world suits these classes much better in my opinion. Or keep an eye out for mods if everything else fails.

You know whats sad. Theres more negative feedback than positive feedback. This forum has overall more threads which states that they are disapointed with the game than anything else. Every day I go on the forums. I see soo many threads. I don't understand because I love skyrim the most. I actually enjoy leveling up so I can raise perks. I actually spend more hours on skyrim than oblivion and morrowind. You haven't explain why the game feels rush, You only stated 4 things you disliked which doesn't really make sense.
Ok. First person on an horse? Who cares? This isn't big of a deal. They must have a good reason. You act like they don't think before doing things. First person horse on skyrim probly was buggy and it didn't work out. that is why they probly didn't add it on skyrim. Also the rest of the stuff u named. No fly? Oblivion had no fly. No creating spells? At least theres more customization. Theres tons of tools in skyrim. You can improve your weapon, Make weapons , Make armor, Make food , Make potion. None of these things are the things you can do in morrowind and skyrim. So I don't understand. Unless you can name more. I completely disagree. You're reason aren't specific. The love isn't gone from the series. This is your opinion. Many other people love the game. You just gotta accept the fact that this is an new game and you have to adapt to it.

The reason you see more negative feedback on the forums is because the vast majority of the 10+ million people that bought the game are playing it, and they are thoroughly engrossed to the point that they are not going to take time away to post on the forums (I am only posting right now because I am at work  ).

On the other hand, the people who have decided that Bethesda is bringing about the end of humanity with Skyrim take more frequent breaks to write critical posts that very frequently seem to begin with "I have played 50 hours now and...", or "After 130 hours I have decided that I hate this game", or "Ugh! This game is broken! 200+ hours in and I don't think I want to finish it!".

Skyrim rocks. It's a shame some of these posters don't enjoy it more, but to each his own. Either way, a few disgruntled people deciding they no longer want to buy hardly signals the death of the series.

then go play morrowind and oblivion and stop complaining!

But they don't want to play those games because they'll give you a laundry list of what needs to be improved with those as well. That's why they're not playing Morrowind and Oblivion.

They're never satisfied.

Hi, after playing for 50 hrs,<...snip for brevity...>

Goodbye.
Ok. But we still don't allow hello/goodbye threads, as they tend to get spammy, as about 70% of the posts in the thread have proven out.

No no. You could not have even lvl'ed that character past 30 nor explored the world. With that said

Troll OP is troll
The thing is, just because someone says something you don't like, does not make them a troll. In truth, most of the time people are throwing around the insult "UR A TROLL" in threads to shut someone down. We actually can and do warn for that as flaming... because usually it is.

And on a personal note - over 200 hours in, most on my Bosmer Archer, still having a blast. Slooowly working my way through the thieves guild, but my character has ADD and goes running off in 5 different directions, usually chasing something shiny. Or a butterfly.
