If Bethesda made an MMORPG...

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 11:58 pm

If Bethesda were to make an MMO, i'd be there to support them.
The Elder Scrolls world would indeed transition quite nicely into the MMO format given how big Tamriel is.

However....an MMO would also mean that there will never be anymore single player Elder Scrolls and that is very very bad.

Really not sure how to think about this.
On one hand, i'd love for an MMO Elder Scrolls, on the other hand i still want the single player experience :sadvaultboy:

My take is to do a Co-op version of Elder Scrolls first, see how that goes before doing an MMO.
Then again, its another debate whether if Co-op should even be in. lol

They will never make one.

I never thought that they'd make a FPS but they made Brink....so you never know.

They have a copyright and a domain registered for "Elder Scrolls Online." They also opened up a Zenimax Online Studios. Not to mention they hold the rights to the Fallout MMO which is in development.

I don't see why they would they would get copyrights, a domain name and an entire studio for something they don't plan on making.

That's wrong. They are not in the maing of a Fallout MMO, they gave the permission to Interplay to make a Fallout MMO when they bought the franchise from them. But it will never happen since they have no more money and Bethesda are not letting them use the Fallout logo or any items related to it.

Get your facts straight before saying something stupid.

Bethesda Game Studios didn't make Brink, Rage, Dishonored, etc. Bethesda Softworks published them.

I chose no, not out of any ideals I have about Bethesda, but because I have no real interest in playing an MMO.

Probably not. Mostly because Beth's a single-player game developer. Not really sure they have the experience/etc to make a multiplayer game. (Also, MMO's need alot more balance between classes/powers/equipment. The TES games don't really show that level of care about balance... not that they really need it as much, as single player "open world" games.)

It doesn't matter who makes it. I'd be interested if it's good.

I can play a single player TES game longer than an MMO, and I don't have to put up with people while I do. So I'd prefer Bethesda not take time to make one, and make more single player TES games.

And no, don't play MMOs, don't want to play MMOs, so no. Just no.

Probably not. I don't want to play another MMO. Maybe if they made a MORPG I'd be more interested.

Depends. Is it free after initial purchase and unlike every other MMO out there in that it's not about min/maxing? Then probably. It would be nice to see a Bethesda game that isn't an awful console port.

No, but I wouldn't play any MMORPG really. I don't like the competition involved, it's just pointless. I play games to enjoy myself, not to try and be the best at everything.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas are FPS games...

I personally have never considered them FPS's. They aren't nearly as fast paced as Call of Duty or Halo, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are simply RPG's...with projectile and particle based weapons in it. :flamethrower: :gun:

No, I don't like MMOS anyway. If I were to choose an MMO to play, I'd probably choose one made by Beth over one made by someone else. I will investigate TOR though...loved KotOR.

Maybe, if it was a TES MMO where you play as a lesser Daedra. And if Star Wars The Old Republic failed.
