BETHESDA RAGE!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:00 pm

This developer is the worst in the business. How can they get away with the literal 1000's of glitches and bugs that can kill and shut down an entire story mode and even render a player stuck for good. This never would and flied 10 years ago when developers didn't have the luxuries of sending patches to consoles. Anyone remember GTA 3? SUPER BUGGY but not as bad as this game. Atleast people were able to complete the missions. With this game they leave your totally screwed with no lube. Why spend the money on them if they can't spend the money on you and test the game before releasing it to ensure its players have an enjoyable time. You maybe asking yourself "why is this Guy so pissed off?" Well I am stuck infringement of a puzzle door on a quest called "Tending the flame" I have posted a distress call on the glitches and bugs form and have a solution was given to me through wiki. Oh wow!! The wiki reads " 360 When solving the ruby claw sealed door, the door may react that you've gotten it wrong even though your have entered the right solution, thus rendering you stuck forever. No known fixes.
Patch 1.4 fixed this issue." HOW CRAZY IS THAT!?! Crazy because I have the latest patch installed that claims to fix this issue and yet it does nothing!! The developer can't even test it's own patches to ensure they work properly and do what they claim to do. Epic fail! I will never purchase a game from Bethesda ever again

I hear you OP, I'm pissed off as well. The issues that you are listing are barely even the tip of the iceberg. The bloated memory size bug, the atomic nirnroot bug, PS3 versions are still lag crazy, etc. I don't see how Beth is going to survive this one if the issues aren't fixed. I can deal with bugs but not bugs that destroy save files, quests and cause freezes, all of these things that Skyrim has.

Strange....I never ever really get bugs on my game of Skyrim. they show up now and then but nothing ground breaking, they are funny glitches if any.
Must be that your computer hates the game. I suggest getting a new one.

I can deal with bugs but not the ones that Skyrim has, files become unplayable when they reach a certain memory size. I don't see how that's acceptable.

Why do I never experience any of these glitches people scream about? I want to come onto the forums and angrily post a topic titled in all caps like it's my own private Bethesda-summoning Bat Signal to fix my obscure problems.

Do you have an auto save from the moment you first entered the dungeon? I'd say you should just load that up and try again.

Why do I never experience any of these glitches people scream about?
I'm not sure. Admittedly, they are pretty rare, but I've experienced game breaking bugs like this even on the PC. They certainly exist.

The only really noticeable bug I've ever encountered is when Paarthurnax took off, flew around backwards for 30 seconds and landed again. I honestly couldn't stop laughing.

What i'm saying that in a game like Skyrim, or any other bethesda game, it is impossible to find and fix every bug, even if they do; that fix will lead to a new bug. So maybe beth is trying to fix the problems on the PS3, but is having a hard time with it.

Computer? What computer? If I had this issue on a version made for the PC I would open the console and make whatever missing item appeared and walk through any stuck door. We are talking about the PS3 and 360 glitches where players are locked from accessing the debug mode and entering console codes to bypass these crippling issues. Idiot

I never got worse than minor cosmetic bugs on my 360 version, even before the first ever patch. I think it's all a matter of luck, which "I has."

Well Ajaxs1988,

If you hate Bethesda that much and you can't see past the little things like glitches, I really don't see why you're on a fan site. Sure Bethesda's games can be buggy, but they're usually just too amazing to care about the little things. I'm pretty sure your attitude should be taken somewhere else where people will care about your whining.

Because it's the internet and everyone has an opinion that must be shared. Silly.

I know I'm lucky. I've watched a friend playing right next to me have an untold number of bugs. I'm not sure what I'm doing right? I wanna be cool and rage too. It's almost a point of pride while playing Bethesda Games, to experience the most obscure, game-breaking bugs. The worst I get are some occasional visual issues.

Even New Vegas was relatively painless. My worst bug there was the DLC corrupter, which I actually isolated myself as being somehow tied to the Novac Delivery box thing. Just never using that was the end of my issues.

It seems less buggy than Oblivion and Fallout 3. Hated that water bug though. The buggiest of the games was Fallout NV I thought. I play them on the PS3 if that matters.

Oblivion's A-Bomb glitch just wanted to drop by and say "oh hai, remember me?"

Not that that was acceptable either--it wasn't, and neither was Bethesda's response to it. (Which amounted to a shrug and a comment about it being an engine bug. So while PC users could fix it via modding tools, console users were SOL if they went over a certain amount of hours played with one character. tbh the lack of support/an official fix for that one still bothers me more than the fact that it existed in the first place.) Just saying...this sort of thing is hardly unprecedented in a TES game.

Also, because it bears repeating: could be worse. Could be Daggerfall.

Gamedevelopers are among a group of a few selcted people who can infact [censored] up their product and release it with the full knowlege that it would be a disaster on the PS3 along with some major xbox 360 issues. This is not so different from airline pilots who can show up at work drunk or untierly unlike politicians who can be corrupt and still get away with it.

Actually it is completely different. If a game developer [censored]s up, then well piss you're a bit screwed on your entertainment. If those two things happen people die. Am I crazy, or is that not even remotely of the same kin, the same kind or the slimmest sliver of a kindred?

Also again, no bugs here.

Ajaxs1988

I presume you are playing on Xbox 360 ?

There is an apposite section here where you can search for a possible solution to your problem

http://www.gamesas.com/forum/181-xbox-360/

and certainly report your "bug" in a detailed way there will be more constructive, not only for you

Doing multiple savings (i.e. just before entering a location/dungeon) will help too with that kind of game to avoid possible "glitches and bugs" of course.

WTF? We should expect a product with major flaws?!

Next time someone designs a really huge skyscraqer we should infact expect all water and wiring to be full of issues seeing as it's so many km of pipes and wires. good to know.

I'm pretty sure after making through hours and hours of the game making it to level 40 and getting trapped in a dungeon FOREVER with no way to get out because one a door will not open properly and two the way you came is now blocked is not a small issue like you make it out to be. I sure if all your time you invested into the game all got wasted by a locked door you would be pissed off too. Fan site or not I want Beth to know right on their very own form on thief very own site that they spend money to have that people are pissed about how lazy they are with game testing and patch development.
