Bethesda - Todd Howards sizzle reel should be your DLC

Werebears made my day! I'd love to see the cosmetic supplements come in a patch or something (directional flowing water and such).

In terms of the DLC being as great as that montage I'm not going to hold my breath. But I I'm willing to wait and see.

One of the most interesting Todd Howard videos I think I have seen in terms of how Beth shapes themselves in the industry and in producing Skyrim. Sure, it would be great to see some of the Game Jam items in DLC coming up. A lot of "SPEARS!" forum-goers would be very happy.

A couple of interesting points in the presentation, though. First, I did not realize the amount of time that the Development Team spent on Hadvar's interaction with the player after leaving the initial dungeon. My very first character totally left Hadvar after escaping the dungeon because I wanted to see the Rift. I did not progress the main quest until well after level 10. Since then, most of my characters have followed Hadvar.

Second, it was interesting to hear when content is added or dropped (e.g. May 2010 Devs Meeting). Every once in awhile I post in the forums something to the effect of "just how much do you expect Beth to put in the game before it's released." Now, I can see the stuff they are mulling over during development. You can put anything in the game, but expect it to take more time than you think. Definitely a much better appreciation for what the Devs do ... thanks for all you do.

One week, trust me... It was alot of hard work but very fun.and very worth it.

But just saying:
I'd buy it ...
It is really good. That's why I'm having a hard time to believe it :|
Because if it was after the game was released, with all the holidays, patches and stuff to make....

By the way, it's great to hear that you guys had fun doing it.
That's one of the most important things :)

So many great things in only 1 week....
HOW?

I guess its the creative freedom, no bugfixing and tweaking, they are just proof of concept. Of course.

g goodness FOCUS MORE ON THE STORY!

Troll.

Story was nuanced and an excellent piece of writing compared to the previous game. Really challenged ideas about terrorism and freedom fighting, racism and patriotism.

Brilliant. So yeah, don't talk rubbish.

I'll have some of what you're having.

Ideas for the story were brilliant and intriguing. The execution, not so much.

Personally, love to see the files and scripts for mods like these; since I was under the impression many features showcased are very difficult to implement without in house dev tools.

Eh. Whilst I dont see a lot of the good features shown being added to the game as DLC (Seasons, textures, spell combos) I do see possibilities for some of the weapons to appear in future dlcs.

Saddest thing is that a lot of these features are like a hardcoe mode. It wasn't added at the start, it won't be added now that the game is out.

I would love it if they opened the up the game more and made it possible to edit hardcoded stuff. Like Actor Values, value types, skills etc

you mean fun? :D

Fair play, SOME of the quests were a little dull for the armies, but the writing of the lore worked very well and was very well set up. The intruige of the dragons returning was excellent. Too bad many people just spoiled it for themselves before playing it.

Finally watched it. I don't see why all of that stuff wasn't in the game. It's a shame.

Oh and lycanthropy tree? [censored] yeah.

Agreed. :)
But this is normal for a big open-world RPG and without cutscenes.

In Fallout, the world is different and tells a story automatically. It's very visual, easy and simple.
Just look at it: "Ohhh a nuclear disaster".

What about TES? The lore for this game is bigger (much bigger).
And the world looks like ours, so it isn't so obvious.

It's pretty much like the history of the earth.
You don't know what happened there, until you get a book and read about it.
To some players, this is bad. Because they think that there is no story.

I dig the open world philosophy too, but some of it was just plain [censored]. They could, nay should, have realised that some of the major quests of the game were very underwhelming and not nearly up to the standards which they had promised for this game, and that other games (like Witcher 2) deliver these days. I was shocked to see how badly some of them played out. So easily fixed, if you have writers worthy of their ink.

Quite frankly if we have to pay for any of this they won't be seeing my dollar. I've already paid for the Collector's Edition. I'm not paying for DLC.

Frankly I don't mind paying for dlc if it has some awesome practical content that is useful everywhere in the game. CDP RED are a good company to borrow dlc planning off. I mean they're an indie and they totally rewritten their game into an 'Enhanced Edition' so it gives me hope for Bethesda. Oops multiquote kinda crapped out on me there.

I'm sure it will be but thats not the point. I shouldn't have to pay for extra content when I've already paid for a Collectors Edition of the game, especially when that CE didn't come with any extra in-game content itself.

How much was the CE? I don't blame you for being mad. But if the dlc is really good, would you not buy it?
