I play on Normal. :3 Because normal, is.. well normal! Anything harder than that, is too hard. x3 The last time I tried anything harder than normal was on Guitar hero, so now I'm stuck on Medium. :brokencomputer:

I know it not the greatest character bulid , but anyway how high does your repair have to be for SWC 45-70? If Burned mans armour is the best light armour DT wise the Im wearing it.

Like I said, I'm not judging you. You've made it work, and congrats for that! From my perspective, though, and based on my playstyle, I hate it. But that's completely opinion-based, innit?

Unfortunately, .45-70 SWC hand load ammo requires a Repair of 90...but in a weird way, that's a blessing, since so does Jury Rigging--so you'd have two excellent reasons to bump your Repair up that high. Blow through the Big Empty with custom-made ammo, then be able to fix your gun easily when that ammo starts to degrade it.

Well, I dont believe you. Sometimes compassion requires a little tough love. You should change your name to Deathclaw Tickeler. What you have here doesnt even remotely resemble a Radroach killer much less a Deathclaw Destroyer.

Man between you and the other guy who are dogging this guy for his choices, you'd think we were playing Warcraft or something where everyone has to have a cookie cutter Spec and there's no room for any choice. If the guy says he's playing on hard and doing well, perhaps he actually IS. Lord knows I've built several strange and bizarre toons that I swore were NEVER going to live and they did so easily. If his perk situation works for him, GOOD FOR HIM. Theres no need to look down your noses and act like elitists, It's not like there's only 3 ways to build a toon in this game.

That being said to answer the OP's question:
Personally, I'd level to 40 before you go into OWB. Get Handloader (if you can), Jury Rigging (If you can, its a life saver). Take the Paladin Toaster or a Zap glove, the Pulse Gun, basically anything that deals EMP damage for the robots. True they are outside your given perks list but they will still hit robots hard and drop em to the ground. For conventional weapons I'd say play it by ear. If you've grown attached to a weapon and have modded it fully, take it but also carry repair kits as we still dont know much about OWB and its all speculation.
Armor wise... I dunno, something in the Light/Medium class is usually easier to find repair parts for (More so with Jury Rigging).
A bunch of stims or food, some skill mags for computers sense it revolves around old world tech (Again an assumption)
If you've completed Dead Money, maybe take the Holorifle but only if its fully upgraded and you have a good supply of ammo.

Really, your choices will be unique to your toon. You built him and know far more about your game play than we ever will. If you really only wanna take 50 lbs of gear, you've got time to test loads now and work it down to something that is great for you.

But things like grunt and cowboy only raise the damage of them by a bit. Like, why would you waste a perk on 'Finesse' just to increase your critical chance by 5%? That's not much of a noticeable difference.

My build uses it. 9 luck = 9% + 5% light touch + 5% Beret + 3% JG armor + 5% Finesse = 27% x 5 for the Ratslayer crit multiplier = DEAD THINGS LOL

Nah, not dogging on you. Your choices confused the hell out of me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to judge you for them. I've made enough strange builds to know that anything can be made to work if you get comfortable with it.

But yeah, I absolutely can't recommend Jury Rigging/Hand Loader enough. The combination of the two drastically increases your damage output without sacrificing the integrity of your gear (which Hand Loader on its own often does because of how much the custom rounds degrade your gun). If you don't have a Brush Gun, you can usually pick up a mint condition one from the Gun Runners, and there are a handful of guaranteed spawn points for it in the world...none of which I remember right now :whistling: Start stockpiling .45-70 Gov't rounds to take them apart once you get Hand Loader (they can be crafted in their generic form without Hand Loader with a Repair of 65, IIRC), and if you don't have the All-American yet, go get it. It's in the Vault 34 Armory...conveniently enough, so is the Pulse Gun, once again letting you kill two birds with one grenade.

For 45-70 Im just gonna buy supplys from the gun runners to make it , until My repairs high enough for swc , and your definatly right about the pulse gun , but vault 34 is a biatch to get through.

He came looking for advice, not to have people pick apart his toon for his choices and belittle him for it. Its not babytalk to render advice with out sneering down ones nose because his build is not what you would have done.

First what in the world were you trying to do with your character?
I don't see a build at all.
Also some of the perks you chose are just ridiculous:
Cowboy and Grunt? Those two don't overlap but at least those two are decent perks
Here and Now (Really? you waste an entire perk just to grow a level?), Lady Killer, Tag!, Junk Rounds, Day Tripper, Ferocious Loyalty, Strong Back, Life Giver are all completely useless perks. (Thats 18 lvls of either completely worthless or almost worthless perks)
No wonder you need your companions to kill things for you because with that kind of build you will be lucky to survive getting mobbed by a bunch of molerats to say the least about survive getting bum-rushed by Deathclaws.

So first things first you need to answer a few questions:
1. What kind of weapons are you gonna be using? Be very specific. Don't just say Guns because there are several different types. Are you gonna use SMGs, Shotguns, Lever-Action weapons, Rifles, etc. Melee or Unarmed? Energy Weapons (Laser or Plasma?)
2. Do you use VATs a lot or do you like to free shoot?
3. What skills do you like to focus in? Guns, Repair, Science, Lockpicking, Sneak etc?
4. What are your SPECIAL points? And have you gotten any of your implants?

Last but not least I honestly suggest you just restart your entire character (or if you are on PC use console commands to switch up your entire build and stats etc) because otherwise you will prob end up getting rofl-stomped by the next mob around your level you face.

(I mean HONESTLY with that build how did you kill a single deathclaw accept for using a ton of mines and C4?)

I have almost the exact same perk build. He probably (like me) chose what sounded cool and what he wanted. Btw I did get bum rushed by like 15 deathclaws surrounding the remnants PA. In conclusion i think he asked what to bring with him.......NOT to be criticized by someone on his perk build.

I don't get what the deal is with Cowboy + Grunt Perks. Whenever I do a knife build (loads of fun, I end up dying almost every time) I make sure to boost my guns high enough just so I can grab both of these. They turn any Combat knife into a freaking kill stick.

And for the record, Deathclaws are not that tough at range. All you need is some high ground, a moderately accurate weapon, and plenty of ammo. If you're smart you can just pick them off while they try to run toward you. If you're really smart you knee cap the bastards and watch them try to limp after you.

Level 6, Repair 70.

As an aside, I have to ask, I really do...are you on the PC? If you are, CHANGE THOSE STATS. Charisma, even for a character who enjoys using companions, does not need to be above a 6 or so. I personally tend to keep it at 5. If you're on PC and therefore able to console-edit, dump 2 or 3 of those Charisma points into Agility, drop your Strength, Intelligence, and Endurance down 1 each, and put two of those points into Agility and the last into Perception. The skills I saw in your build point towards a gun-based class, but you're not going to be any use with a gun if your Agility is junked. Honestly, I'd advise taking 2 or 3 points from Strength and Intelligence (max 2 from INT, actually, to preserve INT checks) and dumping them into AGI--but then again, I tend to play an Agility-high character.

If, on the other hand, you're on a console...stop using your higher-level character. His SPECIAL doesn't gel with the build you suggested you were trying to give him. Instead, start playing your level 24 toon and focus on a mixed-weapon build between Unarmed and Guns. You might consider setting yourself up as a sniper-type given your low Endurance (although with Perception 1, that's going to be hard). Take Intense Training enough to boost your Perception and Endurance to decent levels (4-5 minimum). With the increasing level caps, the hit to your perks won't be too severe.

That build's overview stats were a bit inflated. I misread the calculator. The Brush Gun's critical damage with Better Criticals is 112, not 125 and Fight the Power! affects the BoS, NCR, and CL. Hand Loader requires Repair at 70 but it should be at 100 after you collect all the skill books.
