Ok let me start off by saying that Brink looks simply amazing. The only problem I have is the dlc pre orders. So there in lies my question. I pre ordered at gamestop so I get the doom pack. I plan on using ebay to get the other 3 dlc. Would I be allowed to use all 4 or is it 1 per gamertag for xbox?

Skip to 0:51 and watch the top-left corner. That says "Weapon Customisation"

This has been confirmed multiple times, in multiple places.

I know we're all getting excited, and wanting to know stuff, and CAN THE DEVS PLEASE ANSWER SOME OF THE QUESTION WE HAVEN'T GOT ANSWERS TO YET???

But guys, please check and make sure your questions haven't been answered several dozen times already. You're clogging up the thread asking things we already know. It's not cool.

Why is it in some gameplay vids you see the character creater/customizer is just a great looking white background and then in others you see the other one with the green thing with the level background?

:flamethrower: :fallout:

The green background was the outdated old one which you saw on the character customisation video, but the white background one is the new one which was seen on the character customisation + gameplay video.

Has any kind of theater mode been confirmed?

Also is there private/custom games on consoles(360)?

How many maps will there be and how many different game modes are there?

Thanks for answering other peoples questions dude. I got tired of answering the same questions 1,000 times so I just stopped.

@PhaYze9 No theater mode as been confirmed and mostly likely won't be in.

Just to be 100% certain, with Brink, any pc version I buy (for the different pre-order bonuses) will activate the game on steam and I play through Steamworks itself, correct?

I just want to be sure it's not like how Borderlands was and there's a version with Steam and the from store version where if I bought it on Steam I have to buy the DLC through Steam but if I purchased from a store I have to buy the DLC from the company directly.

There are not any female options because it would compromise some of the other customization options.

Would be more appropriate to say "most" than "some" - SD said they wouldn't do females unless they're doing them right, which would require a full set of extra animations for female characters, and those would require them to cut cusotmisation in half at best.

They didn't want to have to do it, but they went with what they felt was the better option at this stage, and have said they'll do everything in their power to ensure there are females in the Ark's future.

As a male who rarely plays as a female, but appreciates the option being available where appropriate, I think it's a minor disappointment to miss out this time around, but they intend to bring female characters into the next incarnation of the game

That's absolutely unrelated to Brink, just online gaming in general.

What it means is that a clan/community can have their own server 24/7, and can give out/publicise the IP so people can always join that specific server, no matter who is playing on it. This comes in handy both for clans/communities, but also because you can have specific mods, custom maps, etc. on a dedicated server. Everything from stats mods to bigger/smaller teams to entirely new game modes.

It's also necessary for competitive matches.

My question is specifically about Brink actually, I guess I just didn't put enough info in the question. In an interview one of the devs talked about the system matching a team vs another team after each round, I'm wondering if that kind of thing is possible on a hosted server or only by using splash damage servers; also is it possible to play coop with only your friends without having your own server?

Before I start writing down my questions..

Haven't the Q&A questions been sent already?

Now I'll go on with my stuff -

Are there two versions of The Eel Vest, one with the hoodie on and one without? Or did you scrap the hoodie thing?

How many challenges are there? Is it true there is only 4?

If there now is four.. Doesn't that mean you'll have to divide alot of unlocks between 8 completed levels? (4 Bronze, 4 Silver)

Why didn't you include gun skins?

Will there be concept art posted from you guys in the future? Like scrapped Archetypes and maybe the female concept arts

Will you continue to support the game after release? As in fixing buggs, glitches or maybe tweaking some things

Will there be DLC for the PC, XBOX360 and PS3?

If there will be DLC; will it be maps or something else?[/b]If there will be DLC; will it be free of charge?

I think if they are going to have DLC, which i am pretty sure they are. It's not going to be free, they have to get money from somewhere to keep pushing out stuff, and to keep the servers up.

I greatly hope that there is NO DLC that is map packs that you have to pay for. Having to pay money for maps just so you can play with your friends on a certain map is very inconsiderate to force on your fans/customers. I hope they do not look at companies like Activision for ideas for DLC but at companies like Valve. Granted, I can understand map packs like the ones for Borderlands, which gives you new missions and are basically just expansions to the game itself. But having to pay to play multiplayer on a map that's just used as the setting for the multiplayer? No thanks!

Though, it'd be good to see DLC that's optional weapon packs or weapon skins, along with clothing items to further customize your character, like all the pre-order bonus stuff offered as DLC some time after.

Yes. (What platform are you talking about specifically, by the way? On consoles it's a definite yes (as long as the PSN comes back online), but on PCs they may go for using provided (or your own if you want) dedicated servers rather than local hosting. Like L4D.)

I think that if they are going to have DLC, which I am pretty sure they are, it's not going to be free.

This. All over this. I don't think their DLC will need to be bought separately, it will be in the form of free updates (à la TF2). This is what I suspect from interviews with the CEO of Splash Damage and what I gather SD to be like as a developer.

Charging for the map packs is the 100% smart thing to do, otherwise no maps will be released. They have to pay for the time spent making them some how. And besides CoD doesn't punish players who dont have the map packs, it shuts off the possibility of those maps coming up for that player's party. if you join in session those options are not set.Now with Brink, because the storyline is played both single player and multiplayer the whole storyline changes with each new map added. meaning that The multiplayer is the exact same thing as the singleplayer.

Not to mention the fact that so far all the Borderlands DLC's that have been released have added in entirely new sections of the game altogether it wasn't just 'hey lets add a new map' it was more 'Hey lets put in a second storyline altogether' doesn't compare with CoD now does it?

Valve doesn't just 'give away' map packs either, i've spent my fair share of money for the DLC on the Left 4 Dead series, now that was a complete piss off. There was absolutely nothing of value in any of those map packs, so what it added a new map that i would play once in a while because i was one of the only idiots stupid enough to buy it. the 'new maps' on those games were litterally the same thing as the original maps, they just looked different. That same thing goes with CoD, all their map packs add nothing of any real value to the game, only a new map to play on once in a while when everyone in the lobby has it.

Would love to see a DLC weapon pack too (more weapons and skins)
mainly because you dont see that in FPS games anymore its normally just new maps for DLC!
But the game looks good so far and seems to have had alot of love put into it,
def getting this next week! :trophy:

For PC: Release map tools = problem solved. I'm stunned with the current scheme releasing $10-15 map packs and the fact that players buy into it.
I'm sorry but selling a million DLC packs (all platforms) at that price is pure greed and not related to any costs making these maps.
