From the gameplay vids it looks like most of the weapons are automatic machine guns. Are there any rifles or semi-automatic weapons?

1.Will there be different variations of melee attacks?


2.How many hit does it take to down a heavy, with melee attacks from a light?


3.Will there be any different types of melee weapons such as knives, stun rods, brass knuckles etc.?


4.Will there be eye patches and trenchcoats within each group or is that just towards one side?

Will players be able to equip two of the same weapon to swap between – say for example, two Bulpdaun SMGs as a medium body type? If so, will they be able to be kitted-out separately or will they be identical?

On a similar note to this - will you be able to create multiple customisations of the same weapon and use them with a single character - for example, if I want to have a Bulpdaun with damage upgrades for when I'm a soldier, but swap that for a DIFFERENT Bulpdaun with a silencer, will the game allow me to do so?

Also, will I be able to equip a Light character with two different sidearms, for example, a Revolver and a Machine Pistol?

They already confirmed there are Long Rifles, the two confirmed models being the Drognav (semi-auto) and Barrett (bolt action). And most sidearms will be semi-auto as well.

But on a related note to that - are Long Rifles going to be available with the Light body type? (it's been noted as "assumed" not "confirmed" anywhere I've looked - if you're going to answer this for me, provide a link with a dev quote)

Also, just a really minor concern that's been bugging me:

The Rhett has a flashlight with a little yellow cord that goes into the rifle's horizontal grip. Is it just me, or is that cord not part of the grip at all when you're looking at the gun in first person view?

And if it isn't just me, would you guys mind getting that fixed?

Why do you need a link? If it's assumed ANYWHERE like you said that probably means it's true. Not that assumed information is always right but I mean if they ALL say the same thing about long aka light rifles being available to lights then it's most likely true. Also why would it be fair for lights to only get 1 choice(smg) as a primary. ^_^

Assuming something doesn't give it any more validity than outright admitting you're making it up.

The ONLY backing I've seen anywhere is the fact that they were previously referred to as "Light Rifles" - Light Rifle = Light Body type. (parodied, of course, by the term "Light Machine Gun" being a reference to a Heavy-exclusive weapon)

It seems reasonable enough to assume, particularly in light of the lack of options otherwise, but it doesn't have any confirmation anywhere I've been able to find.

And I'm not demanding or saying I "need" a link. I'm asking if someone has one, because it would be nice to have something that states outright that these weapons will be available to Lights.

For a quick question that came up with today's Turret Control ability for the Operative class: how does the experience for that work?

Do Operative and Engineer share experience or is it only for one of the characters?

For a longer question: What can we expect from the future in the form of female characters? I understand they were cut from development due to constraints but do you see in the future releasing patches or DLC that will allow for female models?

They already answered this many times. If you're playing campaign mode single-player, but see a friend come online, you can just invite them into the game you're currently in, and if they accept, they'll replace an AI teammate and join in you mission in progress.

You can play through the story and have people joining and leaving the game dynamically as it progresses - no need to stick with the same group at all.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking but if your playing multiplayer and you lose, you play against another team of people on that same part of the story while the winners move on. If you win, you go to the next part of the story and the losers stay in the same map.
For example,
Team A vs Team B on Story pt. 1 Team A wins
Team X vs Team Y on Story pt. 1 Team Y wins

Team A vs Y on Story pt. 2
Team B vs X on Story pt. 1

(1) I am intrigued by the online / offline seamless play. Is offline going to be easier because it is bots or is there a setting to make it play on easy? I feel from what I know I could decide to rank up offline and it won't be the same challenge. Following on from this, if my (offline) team wins but I do nothing to help, do I get XP for that? Could I feasibly leave my PS3 on all day while I go to work and let it play Brink and come back to it with additional XP? Or just come back every ten minutes and press X for the next map?

(2) I imagine you expect the three body types to play out at roughly %33 / %33 / %33 / %1 - can't decide <_< but there seems to be so much push towards the SMART system that I just don't see the Fat body type getting that much use. Are you sure they have enough health and really powerful weapons to make them tank like enough? They should seem pretty scarey to the smaller guys. Is it possible for one side to win playing all Fatties and steamroll the other team?

(3) What is your prediction for the first patch that effects gameplay? What are you not sure about? Don't get me wrong, patched games mean you listen to the players and more power to you, but I am intrigued to know what you think the community may want to fix.

3) Can you have both facegear (such as masks) and headgear (such as hats) on at the same time?

EDIT: Never mind, I just took a look at Day 9 for the Brink Ability Preview on Facebook, how ironic.

5) I have seen images of the Sea Eagle* and it looks as though it has an underslung tactical light attached to it, is this the case or is the light a part of the gun itself, and not an attachment at all?

6) Will we be able to attach similar devices (perhaps a laser) to our guns?

7) How deep does the color customization go for your character? For example, could you turn the hat band of "The Jesse" hat, or the "eyes" of the Sloani face mask purple?

8) Are there any other Long Rifles than the Drognav Long Rifle* and the Barrett Long Rifle*?

Ok i apologize in advance if this question has been asked before, i'm just not in the mood to read thru every question/answer ATM, but is there going to be any sort of Theater mode or other in-game recording potential provided by the game itself or am i actually going to have to go buy a capture card so i can post my games online?
