A call to the wolfpack #4

If the whispers regarding our brothers are true, I wonder if we could join their ranks.

It would make for a great homecoming. Perhaps they can also offer us more insight on our blessing.

If some people turn out to be our long lost brothers, then I will join their cause, truce or not.

Shhhhh, the vampires are watching :shifty: but I really hope our bear brothers come in guns a blazing :gun:

I created a Nord Werewolf Archer about 2 months ago, been having a blast. He's now level 39, and so far I've finished the Companions (dur), and Stormcloak Questline--along with becoming Thane of Whiterun, Morthal, Windhelm, Riften, and as of lately Markarth. But, reading the OP has inspired me to challenge myself...

To start off big, my first challenge would be an exodus across Skyrim as a Werewolf on Master. I started a little ways off from a farm settlement across the river from Windhelm, drank 5 health potions (the kind that increase base health), went stealth mode, and I was off. Beginning was rather easy, only came across 4 packs of wolves. However, circling the Dragon Wall halfway to Ivarstead didn't work. Was knocked down to hardly a sliver of health left before killing it. The strategy in the OP actually worked, which was fortunate. My usual method of Dragon Killing while in Werewolf form would have had a different outcome (i.e spamming power attack until running out of Stamina...). Before I arrived at Ivarstead I saw a Giant's Camp marker, but decided to keep going in that direction. When I arrived, I didn't see any Giants, so I sprinted passed a rock where a Giant literally jumped out of the blue and smacked the [censored] out of me. I sprinted like crazy and arrived at safe overhang. And then a wild [censored] Ancient Dragon appeared. I could have taken it, but the area ahead was mostly thick brush, the only nearby plain being the top of the small cave I was regenerating in. I couldn't get back up the route I went down, so I tried sprinting around. Eventually; though, the Dragon kept on bombing with Fire breathe and I had to return to the safe cave zone twice before I had a good opportunity to get to the open area. I got there, and I SWEAR the area was large enough. But he kept on Fire bombing me, and killed me before I could get back to the cave. Maybe a smaller challenge next time...

Ancient dragons are a pain in my furry butt !!! They are pretty much the only thing that can go toe to toe with me and they kick my ass most of the time. But it's good fun

If the whispers regarding our brothers are true, I wonder if we could join their ranks.

I hope so

Nice.
But you know that having to feed on people is the price we pay for being a werewolf right? I'm not harping on you or anything, I do like your idea and mod

Well when I last was here the vampires had just agreed to a truce, but it would appear that some still wish to bush our patients. Not a wise decision

I gave the challenge another go last night and still never made it past Markarth :stare: , I swear it was a dragon convention or something. As soon as I left Ivarstead an ice dragon spotted me, I made quick work of it :bunny: But as I made my way to Helgen another ., an ancient dragon this time and it was bouncing between attacking me and the bandits that have mad the ruins of Helgen their home. The dragon killed everyone within Helgens walls and then turned it's attention to me, a glorious battle ensued and the dragon was torn asunder.
Anyway to make a long story short, between Ivarstead and Markarth I managed to bump into 5 dragons, 3 giants and various random NPC's on the road. I'm really liking this challenge, the fact that I keep hitting a wall just makes me want to do it more  I sahll give it another go tonight and this time i will succeed
A little tip that I picked up on with the last couple dragon Vs werewolf encounters, you can stagger a dragon with the power swipe ( the same one that ragdolls NPC's ) and if you have enough stamina you can keep the dragon from opening it's mouth just by power swiping, it even interrupts the dragon from using it's breath. I now have a method for hunting dragons ( while their on the ground ), you sprint into the dragon so to close the gap fast and once your next to it stand between the head and the wing( around the shoulder area ) this way you avoid the crushing power of it's tail and you can keep an eye on the dragons mouth and just power swipe every time it makes a move to either bite you or belch out a blast of fire effectively stopping it's attack and opening it up to yours
Keep in mind though, if the dragon takes flight or just hovers then I recommend running sporadically so that thedragon can't really get a bead on you. You shoul continue this until it lands, I find if you put a little distance between you and the dragon lures it to the ground and then you strike, sprint into the dragon, place yourself right next to either shoulder and give a power swipe. Rinse and repeat as outlined above and you will make quick work of the dragon.

Happy hunting

P.S 4 threads of werewolf goodness and only minor interference from the blood svckers  we're going to rule Dawnguard :bunny:

Another tip, the sprint attack staggers them as well. If you can get to the wings, spamming the sprint attack can often shred a dragon before it has time to scream in pain.

I wonder if you strike a dragons wings while a werewolf does it have the same effect as shooting it in the shoulder with a bow? If you hit it in the shoulder a couple times with bow and arrow it causes the dragon to go into that crash landing animation, so I wonder if striking it as a werewolf in the wing, shoulder area would have the same effect?

Remember, Skyrim has a different strain of Lycanhtropy. It's just an option, you may still feed upon humans if you wish. It just adds animals to the mix. Making us more like beasts.

That's the best part of this strain, you can build a story any way you like, you can RP it any way you like etc...etc... I myself have adopted a more traditional RP style where I'll only change during a full moon phase and that I live my Orc life very similar to that of my wolf life. Like I said, not harping on you anyway  your wolf, your game  Besides not very often you come across a noble wolf

IMO they should turn into werecrocks and weresabercats not werewolves. Think from a Khajiit point of view, getting turned into a K-9

I just have to say, as far as role playing topics go, this is one of the best. I've been checking up on your alls stories every once in a while, being a werewolf myself, and the depth of role playing going on is really cool to see - not just bc y'all are wolves.

We may be getting werebears in Dawnguard   I just think it was a limited time, limited energy thing other wise I think there would have been different forms for Khajiit and Argonians.

Being a Noble wolf is one of the strangest, but most fun things I do.

While helping out others in the day, and fighting for that. I will transform for travel ( Fast Travel is lame! ) and eat from the animals.

It's an interesting way to play it for sure.

I like being the " Big bad wolf " , there's a certain draw to being the " top " predator.

I've made a couple " super potions " using the restoration potion loop just for that reason
I've a few different werewolf builds. The one that makes mages wet themselves is my Breton. 80% passive spell absorbtion +40% magic resistance. Gets worse for about 60 seconds if she kicks in Dragonskin and Dragonhide before changing.

Funny story. Once, after doing some mining, I turned into my wolf form and found I still had my pick-axe equipped. There was an iron vein nearby and curiosity got the better of me... I successfully mined while in wolf form.

The Necromaster's Challenge.

For those of you who undertake to rack up a massive body count I offer you this fun activity.
Go to the Ritual Stone then hit the largest encampment you can find. Once you've had your fill, change back and activate your new power. Lead them to the next camp as quickly as possable. Wipe it out, wait a day. repeat. The Ritual Stone doesn't destroy the bodies so provided you're willing to wait you can acumulate a massive horde of undead.
Last, work your army of darkness towards the nearest Dragon Roost or Giant Camp and enjoy the show!

{edit} Tip: drag scattered bodies into a single area if you have to to be sure you nab every single mangle peice of your feast!

Let's keep this to werewolf talk. If werebears are real, they can get their own topic called "don't wake me, I'm hibernating"

Werebears would be awesome, but I would still play as a werewolf. But I will gladly accept our cousins to fight by my side against the hordes of vampires coming our way, let the greatest hunt begin.

Well, my Breton wizard, has been cursed (I suppose some of you would consider it a blessing) with Lycanthropy. He's struggling with it, and the damned cursed ring didn't help (turned right in front of a guard, killed him, ate him). That said as a frail mage, his unique ability is quite a handy oh [censored] button. So, he'll come to embrace the beast inside eventualy.

They are our allies nonetheless. But I suppose you are right. We wouldn't want the topic closed. Only five more days anyway. We can talk about them as much as we want then.
