Can we please get Brand-Shei out of jail?!

It's a bug. The unofficial patch fixes the script so he will leave jthe ail after 'taking care of business' is completed

This. ^

The unofficial patch is made with total respect for the way the game is supposed to be. It is not a mod, but a patch. Kivan (and Quarn) have made similar patches for Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, and Oblivion. Complete list of fixes can be found here: http://baldurdash.org/TESSkyrim/USKPFixList.html. The patch iself can be found here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=19.

Hopefully Bethesda actually fixes this bug too.

It'll never get fixed. Why ... because there is already a fix for it and there are far "more broken" things still in Skyrim than Brand-Shei.

Just install the already made fix.

If you're on a console then the fix is to get a PC and install it.

I'd LOVE a questline to off the TG.... *sigh*

Me too! Or at least an option to mess them up from the inside. Quest wise, I think the motivation to bring them down internally is a good reason to join them. I played the DB this way, since there are now only a couple of members of the DB left and they seem oblivious to what's really going on with their organization now - which is the listener no longer listens to the Night Mother, and no contracts are getting fulfilled.

Design wise, it would be quicker and easier to write this alternative in toward the end of a major questline like the TG, rather than write an entire questline to get rid of them. And logically, to get rid of a secretive organization you would have to infiltrate them in some way just to get the intel on them. Shouldn't have been difficult for Beth to implement at all.

Lol at this entire statement, I am all for brand equality.

It's a simple scripting error and I know there is far more game breaking bugs such as the respawn bugs I am having that effect my enemy and plant respawns, it truly is game breaking.

Also if you did not know the fix you are talking about is unofficial, Bethesda really has not been acknowledging them with their patch releases.

Just don't forget, no matter how you go about things, that he has a side quest. Visit him in jail, talk to him before the TG stuff, or once he's released from jail - whatever.

To break out of jail, perhaps? Then escape to another city and be a merchant there
Nah doesn't work. I have glitched and gotten the door open. He just stands there like (<)_(>) Herp Derp.
