Can Ulfric Really Shout?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:04 pm

Asking some of the people in the Blue Palace in Solitude pretty much confirms Ulfric's story that he didn't rip Torygg apart with his voice, just used Unrelenting Force and then killed him while he was down.

What I'm wondering is, which version of the story is true? Did Ulfric shout him off the throne and slay him with a sword? Or did the shout really tear his body apart?

If you talk to Ulfric and ask him about it at Windhelm, he'll say he shouted at Torygg, which stunned him, then actually killed him with a sword. He also says it was a legitimate challenge toward the High King, where you duel and the winner is the High King of Skyrim. Which is why in the Age of Agression, one of the lines are: Hail to Ulfric, you are the High King.

You know, I watch videos on Youtube about Stormcloaks VS Imperials.

Ulfric always beat that General guy on his own.. One time, Ulfric shouted the General off a cliff...

Funny you should mention that. As I recall, Ulfric whimpered like a pup as he crawled at the feet of Tullius and the Dovahkiin at the front steps of his palace in Winterhold. I guess your name is supposed to be ironic? Rebel scum... Now that the rebel dogs have been routed, we can get back to (rebelling?) ousting the Thalmor.

(All in good fun...It's nice to have such disparity. It means they did a good job of writing a conflict without a clear "good guy.")

how dare you spout your imperial propaganda! ulfric stormcloak is alive and well, all great leaders have a decoy and you imperials fell for it :chaos:

this is fun :teehee:

Nice on pointing that out though, a lot of people seem to think you have to be Dovakhiin to shout.

And yet the Greybeards explain what is the difference between the Dragonborn and themselves. Dovakhiin has the SOUL of a dragon, and can read and speak the dragon language natively and is able to absorb the souls of its kin - the dragons. Ulfric had to acquire this knowledge, being he wasn't born with the soul of a dragon.

I played with the mindset that "he shouted him to death."

When the time had fully come, I repaid him in kind. It was very satisfying.

Yes he can shout. What do you think was the whole purpose of stuffing a gag down his throat?
