Are you serious? Bethesda churn games out all year round, and those titles you mentioned were awful...

Rockstar is a company you want to look at for releasing few games but at an exceptionally high standard.
I just hope Prey 2 isn't canned - I don't particularly like Bethesda as a company due to various things over the years, but this game looked brilliant. If Bethesda are stupid enough to bin it, I hope another publisher picks it up.

I've played Prey myself. The game didn't bomb, but on the other hand it wasn't an epic seller, either. Let's look at things logically. Making a sequel to a modestly popular game probably doesn't make much business sense particularly if it lacks resemblance to the original game, but cancelling a game this far into development doesn't make business sense either. I'm thinking it will be released, but possibly with a different name entirely.

If there is a god, just kill me now. I swear if this game gets canned imma give up gaming altogether. I've been waiting for a good scifi fps since Riddike and that's a long time to wait. Got Syndicate which gave me a fresh breath of new air but because of ME3 it did bad.

That article was really weak too, nothing to back up the claim what so ever. Probably some [censored] journalist who was about to get fired for not meeting his weekly quota.

The E3 video looked amazing with the cyber-punk graphics, the parkour open world gameplay, the colorful and powerful weapons, etc. Everything looked fantastic and I'm really hoping this is just a rumor. Bethesda has nothing to lose on this game. With recent flops of Brink and Hunted, this could be a breath of fresh air for the company outside of Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

I registered to show my support for Prey 2. Here's hoping it's just a rumor. Great expectations of good things to come.

I absolutely loved Brink...though it was a niche title. If you like class-based multiplayer then it was a great game. I think I've put 300 hours in the game so far...though I am sort of burned out at the moment.

And RAGE had the best FPS levels I have ever experienced. If you just looked at the gunplay, and ignored the story and driving, it was possibly the best single player FPS of last year. While Resistance 3 and Crysis 2 were the most complete games, and among them, Resistance 3 felt the freshest... Rage is the one that is keeping me replaying.

In fact, my favorite games from last year were Tribes: Ascend, Natural Selection 2, Brink, RAGE, and Skyrim. Its just a coincidence that 3 of them came from the same publisher.

Just another voice in the frontline, don't cancel Prey 2, one of the most anticipated titles in 2012 for hardcoe gamers.

It is very unfortunate that, in the midst of all the other mediocre games ("cough" Brink "cough" ) that Bethesda should have cancelled, there lies the possibility that they consider Prey 2 over the others. This is literally THE only game that I want at the moment and they are ruining it by being shady and ghost-like. I will be utterly destroyed if they cancel this game. I was really looking forward to this game and been searching for a release date. to see it may be cancelled is very sad. The game looked great and would have been a day one purchase for me.

There's nothing wrong with being excited about a game or concerned about a rumor that it has been canceled. However while it's fine to voice your support please be considerate of the forum rules: flaming is unacceptable, as is bypassing the forum auto-censor. I also see no reason to criticize Bethesda Softworks over an action that may not even be true.

If the game ends up canceled then criticisms are fine providing they're civil and constructive. In the mean time I'd suggest waiting to see if this rumor pans out.

As many other guys i've registered here just to add another voice for Prey 2.

It is the most interesting game what i wait for and i hope it's just marketing stuff.
You know something like "Let's say about cancellation and see how many potential
buyers we will have on that title. Oh, look how many people! Well, maybe we should

This is stupid. They publish all these bad games, and then the one everyone is looking forward to (in comparison to the others) then they go and cancel it? Why? If the rumors are true.

That I'm not against. Like many others, I liked what they seemed to be working on. It just didn't feel like Prey at all, both the game atmosphere and the gameplay. It didn't look like what the original title promised at the end either. So why call it Prey, especially if like you said, we're not talking about a multibillion dollar franchise anyway? Just release the game as a new IP. We need more of those.

I create an account specially to support Prey 2. The footage they showed at e3 last year hooked me instantly to this title. This is one of my most anticipated games for ths year and i would be really dissapointing if cancelled.

This is probably the third time I've looked in these forums since last year... If Prey wasn't getting enough attention, leaking that it might be canceled is a sure way to give it some.

But my guess is that it's true.

Even if Human Head was having trouble finishing the game surely canceling such a promising game would be a bad financial decision at this point in the dev cycle, they have other studios they could move the game to or have help finish the game. Like Arkane Studios after they finish up Dishonored, Splash Damage or even id.

I just don't see why they haven't commented on the rumour, unless they are in some disscussions on what to do with the game ATM, but that would mean the decision hasn't been made, so people showing their support could help.

The fact that they haven't even commented on it yet means it's probably true. I mean If I was a publisher and our game is being made, the last thing I would want everyone to think is that it has been cancelled. And if it's an advertising stunt then it's a really stupid thing to do since it could turn away just as much attention as it gets. A better stunt to get attention would be to release new trailers and interviews etc...

I don't undertsand for the life of me why certain things get canned and to find out later it can be for some of the most stupid and paranoid reasons on behalf of publishers. If it winds up being because of id tech 4 engine then my guess would be that they might be realizing that to finish the game and to make it work properly, it won't be released until sometime 2013 or later. Around the time the nextgen consoles will be released, so they should have waited and made Prey 2 with the id tech 5 engine and for the next gen consoles instead and that's why they might have cancelled it. Maybe there going to rebuild it for nextgen and tech 5 who freak'n knows.

All I know is it's about time to confirm or flat out deny these rumors . What's the benefit of dragging it out? Unless it's so that third party people that are invovled won't pull there deals or scrap there contracts right away?

I too just signed up to show my support and put my two cents in. This game in all honesty is the only game I am looking forward too because it is so original compared to every other game on the market. I was actually going to start playing videogames again once this game was released and then I see Bethesda might be cancelling it... Seriously all their other games while good were all quite dull (skyrim) because for me the gameplay was too similar to every other game in the past and present.

So that is my opinion on Bethesda's stupidity if they cancel Prey 2

The only thing i actually didnt like about it was that they didnt want Co-op & multiplayer.

Created an account like so many others to show my support for this game. I said it on facebook and ill say it here, been looking forward to this game since i was a kid, it gets made, and then possibly cancelled. Please don't. I was ready to buy this game on pre order release date shipping. This gets cancelled now, bad form bethesda, bad form.

Like another member of the forums I called my local Gamestop up and they say it is still in their systems but has been pushed back to next year in January. January 1st to be precise but I'm guessing this is a placer date.
