since you can choose a voice pack, I wonder how diverse the choices will be? I mean, there's a lot of different accents in the world. Now I'm not expecting a voice for every single country, and most likely not sub categories, like American - southern, but still, there is a lot of choices you can come up with.

American
British
German/Austrian
Irish/Scottish
French
Russian/Slavic
Italian
Scandinavian
African
Jamaican
Asian
Australian
Middle Eastern
Indian
Native American
Pacific Islander
Spanish/Latino
Israeli

and those are just of the top of my head....notice I put "Asian" instead of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. or "Scandinavian" instead of Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, etc. as I see grouping them being more likely. There are others like Swiss, Polish, S. African, Greek, etc. but I was thinking of the "major" voices.

Although I do agree that British English is the correct way to speak it (It originated there, and the founders of the US were from Europe) It is listed as "British" on the character creation video.

German is my favorite dialect. It sounds so stern and powerful.

The voice pack should definately not be listed as British. There is no British accent.

The voice pack should definately not be listed as British. There is no British accent.

And as far as Americans are concerned, there is no "American" accent...

But America is one country. England, Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland are all different countries and although they have smaller populations than US states, the accents change immensly between countries than American States.

America has West coast, Midwest, East coast, southern, etc. we have accents also...And Canada speaks English as well. (yes, I am aware that Canada is not apart of the US, but it part of the same continent)

That's the problem though. America has so many accents, it's impossible to serve them all. The UK only really has 4 main accents English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish.

The reason it should be called "English" is because you've already listed Scotland (and perhaps Ireland, but that could be the Republic of Ireland) and then listed British, which does encompass both them. It would be the equivalent of saying you can have American and Texan accents.

No, I already explained this...

Irish/Scottish
Spanish/Latino

I can see the similarities in the second grouping, and how they might get away with just including one, but the first grouping sound nothing alike...

*Headbutts brick wall*

You're clearly not getting my point. I'm talking semantics here. The accent you must have been implying by using "British" is what I, as an Englishman, would refer to as "English". It's not a case of whether they would include it, it's a case of appropriateness of words. I know what my own accent is called matey boy ;)

this is why they are listed separately, and not under one grouping...

It's refereed to as "British" in the character creator vid, shut up - You can't put "English" as a voice pack, since many people speak it - you have to generalize and put "American" and "British." You can't put "American" and "English," because American's speak English...

But they aren't listed seperately. If they were it would be

English
Scottish
Irish

Not British (English, Welsh, Irish & Scottish) and Irish/Scottish

they are listed separately, as in not grouped, like "Scandinavian," or "Asian." I have them listed with a '/' between them, because if the devs needed to make compromises, that is where I think they would be.

What? I have never ever had anyone get confused about English as a people or accent and English as a language. The Context in which it is used explains which version is meant, only an idiot would not get that. It could not be confused at all in the game options, language and "voice packs" are two very different things.
