It's refereed to as "British" in the character creator vid, shut up - You can't put "English" as a voice pack, since many people speak it - you have to generalize and put "American" and "British." You can't put "American" and "English," because American's speak English...
Thanks for telling me to shut up, I'll stop discussing it now. Oh wait, I'm not a 6 year old...
You clearly fail to understand my point, again. I hope this is merely a problem at my end, I'll try to explain better. "British", for me as an Englishman, has always meant a citizen of the British Isles. Now this includes England (a country), Scotland (a country), Wales (a country), Northern Ireland (a country) and the Republic of Ireland (a country). Now, each of these countries has their own accent. There is a Scottish accent, spoken by the Scots. There is a Welsh accent, spoken by the Welsh. There is an Irish accent, spoken by both the Irish countries (with some variations). Finally there are the English. Now, in the Isles of Britain, when I refer to my own accent, I call it an English accent. Because, believe it or not, the English had this version of our language before other countries started speaking it.
For an example, you say that I can't use the phrase "English" because other countries speak it, and that wouldn't make sense. That would be true, had we been talking about what language they speak. But we are addressing the point of accent. I'll bullet point:
- I am English
- My friend is Scottish
- When I speak the English Language I speak it with an English accent.
- When my friend speaks the English Language he speaks it with a Scottish accent.
You also say "Everyone" is going to assume that English = the Language, I doubt it. Every single person in the British Isles will realise what it means. But I understand how people from other, non-British countries might fail to see this - as you have shown. I don't mind the devs calling it "British" to make things easier for Johnny foreigner.
