Chunkyman's Skyrim Thread: Random Issues, Concerns, Etc.

How so? The only good thing that comes out of PCs is things like Unofficial Oblivion Patch and mods like that. The more I browse the mods, the more I want to contemplate suicide. Furry six mods? Yeahm that's not experiencing the games "full potential". I think you are just being a troll.

lol

While I'm sure there are many worthwhile mods, a ridiculous number seemed to revolve around (1) bigger boobs for the women in the game and (2) clothing designed to better display the bigger boobs. Now, as a fan of boobs myself, that's fine and all, but it did seem to drive a disproportionately large share of the mods I ran across when I bothered looking.

And furry six just ain't no good for nobody. Yeesh.

Lol, couldn't put it better myself, some PC players love to think they're better than everyone else.

Sorry, its annoying to see him nitpicking at every little thing, next it will be about the types of nails used for the buildings. Its a bit ridiculous.

I actually never really took him as nit picking, but more so trying to discuss on how good ideas can become greater ideas with more refining. I have seen far worse threads with a lot of nit picking.

Well, I'm firmly in the Skyrim Is Great camp myself, but the only two kinds of complaints threads that bug me are (1) ones frequented by the I Don't Understand Why Everything Doesn't Just Work Like It Did In Morrowind Club and (2) threads where people are just spewing NNNNNEEEEEEEEERRRRRD RRRRRAAAAAAAAAYYYYYGE!!!!!11 in all-caps. So long as the complaint is halfway sane, I can live with it.

In fact, I started http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1327636-a-suggestions-and-quibbles-thread-for-sane-people/page__st__30 so that non-crazy-people can post their suggestions and complaints in one place.

PS Mods are awesome... I love my revealing robes mods. I even got a framerate boost by DLing a lighting mod that makes nights and dungeons darker -- now I actually NEED to use light spells. Also, there are mods that clean up character graphics, enhance crafting, geez... the list goes on and on. It's not just nvde mods -- although there are several of those, and I probably don't use them. :)

They really needed a new use for cooking. It's like useless, unprofitable alchemy. Best thing I can think of is it slightly refills the well-rested timer, since at least potions can't do that.

Nitpicking or not a mod told him not to do it anymore, likely this will get closed and he will get warned/temp banned.

I am going to edit your topic title to be more generic. Hereafter, you can just add your various complaints grand or picayune to one thread. You have been generating these topics, and really, you just want a forum for saying "I don't like this." "Oh, and this... do not want." "This? Meh." Those can all be in one topic.

I could do that, but that wouldn't be fun then.

Yeah, potions that restore 300 magika and health, totally useless, or make my destruction spells 100 percent stronger, totally useles.... anyway, moderators are informed...they responded before i could finish my sentence.

No one's forcing you to post here, ya know... and these threads are composed of well-intentioned discourse revolving around the weaker points in a game we all love very much. I hope chunky keeps posting these, because it is giving me (and others) an idea of what we need to be modding for when the CK comes out. All the posters in these threads are going to be making this a better and better game.

Keep 'em coming, chunky! :)

as I said before what I would hope for in the future of cooking is making food required by your character or else suffer from debilitating effects with prepared/cooked food being more potent and efficient.

The point of cooking isn't the money you can make out of it, but the profit in combat. And fun.

Yep. It's part of the whole RP experience. I like it as it is, but wouldn't mind more variety in what can be made from the vast array of ingredients.

I suppose the end product prices are based around you finding the ingredients in the wild and thus being pure profit.

Cooking is a terrible feature in my opinion however because of how useless it is.

Its not useless, just use your cooked food BEFORE your potions.

Define what you mean by useless. I disagree with this statement. Cooking can be very useful for a melee-based character. There is one recipe(I believe Elsweyr Fondue) that causes Stamina to regenerated by 1 point every second for 720 seconds. You only need one point of Stamina to perform a power-attack. So, by using Elsweyr Fondue, your character will have an indefinite advantage over most of his foes for 12 minutes, not to mention if you cook multiple.

Imsure more would be added in , in DLC's just like fallout, or mods, but for consoles, DLC's will definately have more beneficial foods added in.

I was gonna comment about horses in there and the thread suddenly closed. What should I do now? Start my own thread about horses? How is that different from what was already posted? Horses deserve its own topic as much as cooking deserves its own topic.

on topic:
A small oversight? Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Maybe this can be a subject to content patches.

Mount&Blade has party morale mechanics tied to food. I would love to see that kind of thing. There was supposed to be a "sabotage" mechanic. I think making food a necessity and subject to sabotaging could make the civil war more interesting. I envision a civil war that is more about mechanics and less about a linear story. Food can play a big role in that. The amount of food can be tied to population and soldier numbers, like the farms/population link in strategy games.
