Is Cicero the best TES character ever?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:43 pm

He is a curious one but his voice makes me cringe, I think i'd like him more if he had a quiet and reserved side, not even a side in fact, just a corner. Just something to oppose the quirky nutcase part of him to really accentuate just how mental he is.

Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak id best!

Some of his literary gems include:

"Ah... you are from the Fighters Guild, I resume. Good show. I am Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak. Let us conversate on the Lady Rogbut. I fear that whilst out rock-picking, she was apprehensive. Stolen away! My suspension is that ogres have abjected her! Please search to the east of my sprawling abode. They have been known to vacate these premises. I am most gracious and truly woeful."

On ogres:

"Horrible creatures! Replete with horror and evil. They roam freely eastward of the estate. I look forward to you exterminizing them." and "Please, rescue my daughter from these brutes! I fear for her safe return!"

Randomly:

"I am resident to encounter the minotaur. Its horny protuberants cause me great conflagrations."

And he sends you on your way with:

"Precedeth most urgentlike."

You see? funny orc wins! :)

Oh man! I always forget about him. How could I ever forget about ol' Rugdumph? :D

I'm going to go find a minotaur to cause me conflagrations as a punishment....

It's a toss up between Vivec, Sheogorath, Martin Septim, Paarthurnax, Manimarco and Jagar Tharn with me.

Haha, good answer, but i don't see C like that
Well he's not purely a joke like the AF, but you must admit they sound pretty similar at times and can both be funny and/or annoying. It sounds like the developers even noticed that (or did it intentionally) and put that thing in his diary about disguising as a fan of the grand champion (obviously not the same one though, as it's set many years after Oblivion).

I change my mind. This guy is the best - http://www.google.com/imgres?q=adoring+fan&hl=en&biw=1920&bih=976&gbv=2&tbm=isch&tbnid=6yKHQlMnHE8iCM:&imgrefurl=http://facepunch.com/threads/1067498&docid=1qY0fLYf3GOJpM&imgurl=http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3397/adoringfan.jpg&w=183&h=210&ei=TEHNT4DAI-fU2AX8-4TuAg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=486&sig=107969013864371897490&page=1&tbnh=129&tbnw=117&start=0&ndsp=50&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0,i:97&tx=45&ty=48

Skyrim doesn't need "an adoring fan" to annoy you immensely throughout the game. They have the Dunmer and Altmer voices to do that instead

The best? I don't know. What I do know is that it certainly wasn't Martin.

Cicero is an annoying freak. That is why he is the best character in Skyrim, though not the TES series as a whole.

I have a dislike/like thing for cicero because he kills cyrodiils champion but after that he gets mad and becomes lovable.

I didn't like Cicero (I thought he was another one of Bethesda's stereotypical 13-year-old's idea of what a "mad" person would be) until I read his journals. I thought Cicero was a much more interesting character after reading those.

Nah I hate him. It's not even his voice and mannerisms that annoy me, its just how obsessive he is. He was written to be the direct counterpart to Astrid, whom I also hated. Where as Astrid was obsessed with her "new" Dark Brotherhood, Cicero was obsessed with the old way, and especially the Night Mother herself. He just couldn't shut up about her.

here are some interesting peeps
Lucien Lachance (Oblivion, Skyrim)
Owyn - Arena battlemaster (Oblivion)
Rolof - stormcloak intro nord (Skyrim)
but the real winner is Sheogorath.

Haskill or Sheogorath are my favourite ever TES characters, hard to choose between them for the top spot. Cicero annoyed the crap out of me, his voice and personality were too overdone. My favourite character in Skyrim is one from the Dark Brotherhood but it's probably an unexpected choice: Veezara.

I thought Cicero was great. And it makes sense for jesters to be assassins, it gives them an "in" to get close to nobles. That guy is pretty warped, and I loved meeting him on the road before I joined the brotherhood. I was a dike to him.
